At the sight of Yewstorm emerging from her den, Wildstar realized it was time. Standing tall on the high rock, she yowled to he clan. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather 'round the high rock for a clan meeting!"
Bonekit was brought out of her daze as she realized this must be what Stormcloud was talking about. So he knew about a dumb clan meeitng beforehand, didn't have to go about squealing it to everyone. She was in an unusually downcast mood after sitting in the nursery for so long. Dragging herself out of the small space, she padded to the base of the rock, licking her fur a few times to get the pebbles and dust out of it.
Pepperpaw forgot all aspects of clean bedding at the leader's yowl, and ran quickly to the clearing. Sitting down, she sat stalk still, gazing up at her leader obediently, waiting for instructions or announcements. Maybe it had something to do with the prophecy.

Seeing Yewstorm sit down in front of the meeting-rock, Stormcloud padded over, trying hard to control his excitement. "Good morning, Yewstorm. Sleep well?" He meowed politely to the older warrior. He had learned from experience that no matter how happy you were, it was best not to act that way in front of Yewstorm. He noticed Bonekit looked a bit down today. Hopefully that would change soon.

Standing taller than before, Wildstar called out to her clan. "The time has come to appoint a new deputy. I say these words before StarClan, that the spirits of our ancestors may hear and approve my choice. Yewstorm shall be the new deputy of JaggedClan." Here, she paused for dramatic effect, as the leader before her always had. After letting silence hang in the air for several heartbeats, she turned to Yewstorm, examining the she-cat's expression. "Yewstorm, do you have anything you'd like to say?" she mewed kindly.

Ashpaw mewed in congratulations, somewhat half-heartedly, for the fact that he wasn't exactly... best friends with the she-cat. He glanced at Bonekit to see her reaction, and at Yewstorm, wondering if she would lead the clan to victory.

"Congratulations, Yewstorm." Nodded Stormcloud, not surprised at all. He hadn't expected it to be him really, not with only a few moons' experience as a warrior. He knew Yewstorm could be a little aggressive and short-tempered but she was a very good fighter and he was glad to have her as their deputy. The dark yellow tom felt excitement course through him as he realised his and Bonekit's part was next."

Yewstorm smiled, her whiskers twitching with excitement, her paws just itching to stand on the meeting-rock. Nodding politely to Stormcloud, the she-cat calmly walked over to Wildstar, despite her raging nerves, Yewstorm contained herself. But her expression was full of emotion, mainly surprise. After all, it wasn't like she and Wildstar got along famously. But the near-senior warrior realized that she was the most experienced warrior now, there forth a good choice for deputy.
Nodding to Wildstar, Yewstorm felt her leader's gaze prickle at her face, watching her expression. But that fact didn't matter right now, as Yewstorm's heart beat wildly at her rib cage, speeding up her thinking. "Thank you, Wildstar." There was joy in the warrior's voice, and sincerity in her clear eyes, for once. "I hope I can serve as a good deputy, and lead JaggedClan to victory." Yewstorm turned to her clan with this sentence, then stepped off the meeting-rock, waiting.

Wildstar nodded in response to Yewstorm's speech. "As I'm positive you will," she mewed warmly. She then paused to allow her clan to congratulate the new deputy.
Excitement in her eyes, Pepperpaw bounded over to her favorite warrior. Her eyes were bright, but her body still held dignified composure. "Congratulations, Yewstorm! There's not a cat in this clan who would make a better deputy than you!" She mewed with warm admiration. Someday, she hoped to be deputy. If she was, would Yewstorm be the one to appoint her the position? The prospect of this filled her with intense excitement.
"Yeah, congratulations, Yewstorm," Bonekit mewed in a strangled, trying-to-sound-happy voice. All she could think about was Yewstorm's prejudice and hash nature, and hoped that this wouldn't get worse now that she was in a position of high power.
Once the congratulations had died, down Wildstar faced her clan again, raising her head high to speak more. "This was not the only change for today. Bonekit," she mewed, turning to the young cat, "From this day forwards, until she has earned her warrior name, this apprentice will be called Bonepaw." She paused now, allowing this time for Stormcloud to come forward, before continuing, "Stormcloud, you were a good apprentice to your mentor. Your mentor taught you well, and you have shown fierce loyalty and bravery over the years, and constantly optimisitic and bright attitude. I hope you will pass on some of those qualities to Bonepaw." Here she waited, leaving the time for mentor and apprentice to touch noses, and for congratulations to sound out once again around the camp.
Bonekit was startled and amazed to have her name back. It put the spring back into her step and the light back into her eyes, and she gave her fur a self-concious, excited lick before padding over to Stormcloud to touch noses with the tom who was now her mentor.

Stormcloud nodded eagerly to Wildstar before bending down to touch noses with Bonepaw. He had an apprentice. He had an apprentice! Although Stormcloud did not allow himself to give a great leap of triumph and pride he did nothing to stop his tail twitching from side to side with excitement. He had an apprentice!!!

Ashpaw yowled Bonepaw's 'new' name in joy, the tom's tail twitched slightly and his eyes clouded with pride for his friend, remembering his naming day. He padded a mouse-tail closer to the highrock, awaiting Bonepaw for when she came down.

After touching noses with her new mentor, Bonepaw padded back down to meet her friends. "Boy, does it feel good to have my name back!" she murmured to Ashpaw. She noticiced her sister didn't say anything, simply padded away over to the apprentice's den and slipped in. Hissing in contempt at her sister's lack of attention, Bonepaw's tail drooped very suddenly, and she padded quickly after her sister.
So Bonepaw got her name again. Big whoop. At least this time she had a mentor to look after her. Rolling her eyes, Pepperpaw padded into the apprentice's den to get some bedding to dispose of. Suddenly, Bonepaw was with her in the den, teeth bared, lavender eyes filled with fury. "The least you could have done was congratulate me. Some sister you are," she spat. Pepperpaw hissed back, dropping the bedding she was carrying. "Oh leave it, will you Bonepaw? You already had a name. You lost it. Now you got it back. Why should you be congratulated on your second try?!" Pepperpaw shot back just as angrily.
At this, Bonepaw was filled with rage. "For just ONE day, could you TRY and be pleasant, Pepperpaw? Just ONCE? Is it that hard? Or are you too buisy being mad at the world? Because we don't have a hard life you whiny furball, we really don't. We have it great and all you ever want to do is mope about and make things miserable for other cats. And why? To mask your embarassment. I know you Pepperpaw, you're my sister. All you're doing is pretending you're not ashamed that you're not clan-born. Well get over it. Most cats aren't these days anyways, and they've all proved that you don't have to be to be great!" She then whisked around, storming out of the den, and sulking in a corner. Anywhere that she didn't have to look at Pepperpaw was fine with her.
Pepperpaw was filled with rage. How dare her sister even suggest such things?! But there was no time for this. Bedding had to be delt with, she reminded herself, and she bad-temperdly picked up some dry moss before storming up to her mentor, Wildstar. "I'm going to change the bedding. I'll be back soon," she mewed irritably. Wildstar nodded, and Pepperpaw was out of camp in an instant.

Stormcloud watched Bonepaw pad into the apprentice den after her sister happily but winced as the loud meows emitted from it the next second. Once Bonepaw was out again, he trotted over to her and meowed cautiously, "I know you already know the territory so how about a lesson on stone-hopping?" He was carefull to keep his tone neutral, knowing better than to patronize her by treating her like a freshly-made apprentice. He knew, from the incident that had occured earlier, that she could probably use a little practice in stone-hopping and hoped it would lighten her mood.

Ashpaw padded over to Wildstar. "Could I go hunting, Wildstar?" He asked, grey fur waftin about in the wind. He stood awaiting her answer, eyes large and shimmering.

Bonepaw sighed at the prospect of stone-hopping, wincing as she remembered the incident yesterday that had caused all this. Still, she knew that Stormcloud only mean well, and so, put on her brightest face and mewed, "Sure, Stormcloud. That'd be..good!" She hoped her voice didn't sound too strangled as she began padding out of camp with her mentor.

Wildstar nodded warmly at Ashpaw's question. "Of course you can, Ashpaw. The fresh kill pile is running low, it was good of you to think of that," she mewed, "Just don't get into any trouble," she said this last part with narrowed, friendly eyes to show that she was joking. She then nodded at the exit to the camp to indicate that he may leave before leaping down from the rock on which she was still standing and padding around camp to observe the clan. She then realized that all the cats were leaving aside from Yewstorm. It worried her that the clan was so small. One cat hunting, a mentor and apprentice training, and a young she-cat fetching clean bedding shouldn't leave the camp with only two cats to defend it, and she sighed, realizing that at least the cats in camp were experienced.

"Great, come on!" He meowed enthusiastically, not missing the forced brightness of her voice. Was she dissapointed that she'd gotten him as a mentor? The thought soon took root in is mind, gnawing at his happieness like a rat. Did she think he couldn't teach her? Stormcloud's eyes narrowed in uncertainty as he led the way out of camp.
