l ll Adderpaw shrugged stiffly at Wolfpaw's thanks, not having deserved it, and muttered something incoherent. Seconds ticked by with each one making Adderpaw wish more and more that he'd just controlled himself a bit. then none of this would have happened and it wouldn't be so...icky. At least he seemed to have made up a bit with Wolfpaw. Adderpaw supposed that was a good thing., After all, he had nearly made more enemies than he could count on one paw; Dustwater, Needlegaze, Duskpaw, Skyfeather... Enough for one moon, at least.
Adderpaw's head suddenly jerked back up as Jaycall's mood leaped to light-heartedness. Despite himself, Adderpaw felt a small grin spread across his face. Apparently Jaycall's excitement was catchy. He wasn't about to jump around and go around squealing like a kit, but the red-furred tom had no issue with leaving the small tussle in the clearing. He held grudges well, but felt no need to form a new one. Wolfpaw may not be Jaycall's apprentice, but he wasn't entirely bad. He had stood up to Dustwater after all - Adderpaw couldn't hold a grudge against someone who'd done that! That plus the prospect of eating lent swiftness to his paws as he scooted after his mentor.
"So hurry up, or I'll leave you behind!"
Not. A. Chance.
[[Adderpaw too!]]

Wolfpaw's tail twitched happily as Jaycall cracked a grin and turned to go back to camp. Finally, that was done with. And Wolfpaw had to admit that he was somewhat proud of himself. Not bad for his first training session. And Adderpaw didn't seem to entirely hate him, that was a good thing too. Wolfpaw raised his head a bit as Adderpaw too turned to leave. Sure, the other apprentice wasn't quite nice all the time, but his prickly brazenness was something Wolfpaw deeply admired, since he himself had the courage of a rock. A very cowardly rock.
Before Adderpaw was entirely out of view, Wolfpaw took off at a quick jog behind him, taking one last glance down at the training hollow before he slipped into the darkness between the pines.
