Needlegaze darted into the clearing, realizing Ebonystar must not have made an announcement to the clan of the gathering. Shaking out his fur, he padded calmly into the space and sat down with much intention, not showing any emotion as he waited for the gathering to begin.
Bonekit shook her head furiously. Of course Seapaw didn't know that she was a kit now! She shouldn't be so alarmed. Settling herself down, she glared at Pepperpaw and murmured, "Thank you, Ashpaw," before turning to the SandClan apprentice before her. Pepperpaw calmed herself, giving her chest fur a few angry licks. She shouldn't let her emotions get so out of control, but she was already sick of having to follow her annoying sister around.
Seapaw glanced around at the now silent JaggedClan apprentice. It was certianly odd, she thought, but said nothing about it, rather, purred in amusement at them and sat quietly, waiting for an announcement to ring from the leaders' throats or for one of the other apprentices to say something.
Raindance padded happily into the clearing. Deputy! She was attending the gathering as a deputy! She spotted some cats over across the clearing, a JaggedClan cat of who she forgot the name, and the SandClan medicine cat, Ribbondance. Weaving between a sullen looking PineClan warrior and a cluster of squabbling apprentices of various clans, she padded over to the two cats. "Hello," she mewed warmly, then turned to the JaggedClan warrior speaking to Ribbondance. "I seem to have forgotten your name. What is it again? I'm Raindance," she added.
Wildstar glanced around at the leaders sitting on the branch. "Well, now that we're all here, should we, erhm, begin the gathering?" she mewed heasitantly. All of the leaders were new to this, and she hoped she was carrying out the process correctly so far.

Slipping into the clearing silently, Ghoststorm positioned himself behind a ginger PineClan warrior, near to the SandClan medicine cat, Raindance and another JaggedClan warrior whose name he thought began with 'Yew'. He looked up to Moonstar silently, waiting for the Gathering to begin. Adderpaw sidled over to a group of chatting apprentices, sitting himself down next to one he thought was from SandClan. "Hello. How's the prey runnign in your Clans?" He asked, eyes gleaming in excitement. He couldn't wiat to boast about his newest adventure with the bears and suddenly found himself wishing his sister, or Sunpaw, could be here. he felt weird being the only PineClan apprentice.

Moonstar glanced towards the arriving PineClan, a feeling of slight relief blooming in her chest. With a flick of her tail, she padded proudly through the assembled cats, her head held high. Surveying the crowd, she was disappointed that she could not see Raindance. She purred inwardly as she knew how she had made a great choice, and Raindance was a popular cat to have chosen. Knowing she could count on her deputy, she bounded back to the other Clan leaders.

ooc;; >_>;; Snap! You're right, I just didn't have any time. D: bic;; Yes. I think we should." Thankful the other leaders didn't question him, Ebonystar watched silently as Moonstar walked away for a second to check on her deputy, then came back. Ebonystar was sure his own warriors were doing fine, and that there would be no need to check on them. Also, Ebonystar hoped to avoid mentioning the 'bear incident'. No need to show the other clans that PineClan was facing a threat from the bears.
Yewstorm gave a respectful nod towards Raindance, watching as the deputy introduced herself. "I'm Yewstorm." The she-cat responded, her voice happy. Sending one look at the four leaders, and another at the group of apprentices, Yewstorm satisfied herself, then turned back to the two cats. "So, how weer your clans this moon?" The she-cats tone was even, with the slightest edge of curiosity. Yewstorm didn't want to seem too curious, naturally.
Penguinfur looked around the gathering, spotting an annoyed looking PineClan warrior. Curiosity pricking at his paws, the black and white cat padded over to the tom, unsure of his name. "Hello. I'm Penguinfur. Who are you?" Attempting to appear as bright and friendly as he could, the tom found himself close to flinching under the other's gaze. Only his pride kept him from showing the nervousness and fear inside him.

"The hunting's going, er, fine. We um...caught a big falcon the other day," Bonekit responded carefully to Adderpaw. Not replying would just make them seem more suspicious than they already were, she wondered what Seapaw thought of them. Pepperpaw stifled a scowl. Could her sister have worded that any more suspciously? Batting her sister hard with her tail in the back where no other cat could see, she watched the white and black cat's eyes bulge as she sent her sister an icy star. Pepperpaw ignored this, instead, mewed rather causually, "And you? How's the hunting in your clan, Adderpaw?"
Seapaw noticed the slowness of Bonepaw's voice. The emphasis on the word 'caught' after 'um'. She thought it obvious that something had happened in JaggedClan, but everyone was here at the gathering, so she didn't see why it would be such a big deal. Rather, she sat quietly and listened to the conversation of the other apprentices.
Randance remembered now! Yewstorm, that was the cat's name. "SnowClan was fine, thanks," she mewed warmly, "A few snowstorms here and there. Nothing out of the ordinary." Now that was a lie, and she knew it. Mosspaw's dream was nothing even remotley close to ordinary, but she said nothing, rather, gazed at the JaggedClan warrior. "And you?" [[ooc;; by the way, Yewstorm never said anything about her...cough...dream...did you get it, Osaka? Just making sure :3]]
Needlegaze stiffined as a black-and-white tom approached him. And spoke to him! Repressing a shudder, he did not move, just glared at the cat with his icy, needle-like stare that gave him his name. "I am Needlegaze," he replied stiffly, showing no emotion aside from the burning annoyance in his deep amber eyes. "What do you want?" he added, hoping he could make the annoyingly optimistic cat go away. He disliked speaking to cats of other clans, even at the gathering. It made him feel jumpy, disloyal.
Wildstar glanced around, noting the other cat's agreement to her question. She then stood up, and mustering all the wind in her lungs yowled, "Cats of all clans! Gather 'round! The gathering is about to begin!" as she waited for the cats to assemble around the twisted, gnarled tree, she turned to the cats beside her. "Who would like to go first? Ebonystar?" she had picked a cat at random to suggest, so that they didn't just sit there staring at each other and flicking their tails for the others to go--or at least, that's how she was worried it would turn out. And she hoped it wouldn't.

"Hello!" meowed Ribbondance, shifting around with interest. A she-cat to talk to! She sat up attentively, hoping for an interesting conversation. She could hear the apprentices bickering in the background, was there not supposed to be peace at the gatherings?

Ghoststorm winced mentally in pity for the cat he knew to be Penguinfur as he tried to make conversation with the evidently prickly ginger tom sitting in front of him. As the leaders called out, Ghoststorm sent the group of apprentices a warning glance for quiet, particularly one ginger tabby who carried the sharp scent of PineClan and didn't seem to be paying any respect to the leaders. "A falcon? They're a bit stringy aren't they? I escaped a bear today. A bear. You've got to be fast and brave to do that. Not many apprentices could have done it. Especially when you act like you're still kits." He meowed with both pride and a touch of scorn, turning to the SandClan apprentice, "It's Seapaw, isn't it? How's SandClan coping -" here Adderpaw was cut off by a warning glare from a SnowClan warrior. Furball, he thought silently, glaring at his silver, grey-striped back.

Hardly taken back by Needlegaze's curt answer, Penguinfur continued right into the conversation. "I just saw you alone, so I wanted to know who you were." Barely even noticing Needlegaze's obvious unease, Penguinfur heard Wildstar call out the beginning of the gathering. "Oh, I need to go!" The tuxedo tom replied warmly, then went off to take his place bellow Wavestar. Now everybody would see he was deputy!
Nodding, Yewstorm smiled. "Yes, it's been a little chilly lately, but other then that, fine." Wisely skipping over the little episode with Bonekit, Ashpaw and the falcon, the she-cat kept her warm appearance, holding her sharp tongue back. As for her dream? It was only a vivid product of her imagination, of course. Turning to Ribbondance and Raindance, Yewstorm flicked her tail towards the leaders. "It's starting.."
Ebonystar walked rather proudly towards Wildstar, nodding at her. "This moon, I am sorry to say, Russetstar, our old leader has passed on to StarClan. I, Ebonystar, am now the new leader." Giving the clans a few seconds to absorb the information, Ebonystar skipped mentioning the deputy. No need for the rest of the clans to know PineClan had been late in appointing a new deputy. "Other then that, Skypaw has been newly made a medicine cat apprentice. Also, Adderpaw has a new mentor, Hummingsky." Trying his best to sound like the old leader, Ebonystar shot a glance at the other leaders. All three were new to the job like he was, which gave the large cat some satisfaction.
Choosing not to mention Sunpaw's accident, Ebonystar went right on. "That is all. Wavestar, would you like to continue?"
ooc;; I was hoping to have Yewstorm tell Wildstar after the gathering. xD Swallow her pride. And stuff.

Seapaw rolled her eyes at the big-headed PineClan apprentice. Strangley enough, he seemed like the type she could make friends with if they were in the same clan. "You big-headed furball you are acting like a kit, with all your bragging!" she hissed quitley. She then flicked her tail at him, looking up at the leaders who were beginning to speak and indicating that she did not want a response.
Bonekit was releived to stop bickering with the other apprentices, and turned quikly to the leaders, hoping no one had noticed the healing gash on her shoulder. Pepperpaw rolled her eyes at the PineClan apprentice's big-headedness but said nothing, whipping around along with her sister to face the giant tree.
Upon hearing the gathering was starting, Raindance proudly took her place below her leader, where, she noticed, Penguinfur was as well. She gave him a warm nod before glancing upward to listen the leaders speak.
Needlegaze hissed under his breath as he watched the sickeningly friendly tom pad over to the foot of his leader, feeling a sting of jealousy that this cat was the clan deputy, angry that such a cat could be appointed this position, and glared at the tom from the rival clan before gazing up at the leaders perched on the branch.
Wildstar was relieved to find that she was not the only one without a deputy. Ebonystar had not mentioned any cat being a deputy, and noone sat below him on the ground. Feeling releived and satisfied, she turned her gaze to Wavestar, as the SandClan leader was about to begin.
[[ooc;; okay! I just wanted to make sure yout got it alright :D]]

The ginger apprentice blinked, taken slightly aback by the SandClan cat but then narrowed his dark emerald gaze sufficently. Adderpaw did not care if she wanted a repsonse or not, he was not the type of cat to just let that lie. "Well at least I have somethign to brag about."He hissed back under his breath, not bothering to listen to the start of Ebonystar's news - he would probably know it anyway, "What have you been doing all moon? Sharing tongues?" This was when his own name was mentioned by his leader. Adderpaw swelled with pride, flashing a triumphant 'see, I am great' look at Seapaw as he did. The tom's head was held high and his tail straight up, completely undaunted by the gazes of any other cats. He was the first warrior apprentice to be announced at this Gathering. Ha, ha. Ghoststorm's eyes were impassive as Ebonystar gave his report, it was a shame that Russetstar had passed on but not completely unexpected. The leader had been fairly old. His gaze flickered to the PineClan apprentice behind him who he assumed was Adderpaw, if his obvious pride was anythign to go by, before returning his attention to the cats in the tree.

Stormcloud shuffled uncomfortably in his place next to a silver SnowClan tom with grey tabby markings. He had only been a warrior for about three moons and still found it difficult to sit still for very long. He cast a fond glance at the little group of apprentices, spotting Pepperpaw, Bonekit and Ashpaw from his own Clan. It was great to be an apprentice, not nearly as much responsibility. That wasn't to say he didn't like being a warrior, because he loved it to bits, but life had certainly been a little easier as Stormpaw. Thinking of apprentices made Stormcloud think of being a mentor, naturally, and he reminded himself to have a word with Wildstar about mentoring Bonekit when she was finished her punishment. That would be fantastic! Stormcloud's excited imaginings about teaching a little cat to hunt and fight almost made him miss Ebonystar's news. He glanced at his toes guiltily, hoping no other cat could see his mind had been wandering. Again.

What a horribly self-centered cat! Seapaw thought, glancing lazily back at the big-headed apprentice. She noted that he looked as if he was about to burst with pride at the fact that his leader had mentioned him. She also noticed that the leader said nothing about the bear that he had bragged about, so she assumed that he had either made it up or let something slip. "You either made up the thing about the bear, or you weren't supposed to say anything. Either way, you're in a tight spot here," Seapaw mewed smugly under her breath into the PineClan apprentice's ear, facing the leaders again, and anticipating the report from her own clan.

Adderpaw scowled at her, hating how she'd spotted his blunder. How had he been supposed to know that Ebonystar didn't want to mention the bear attack? More importantly, what if Seapaw told Ebonystar that he'd told her about it? That could get him deep trouble with his Clan. Adderpaw wracked his brains for a way out of this without loosing face. "I did not make it up!" Adderpaw might be an arrogant big-head but he didn't lie unless he had to. "You can even ask Sunpaw next Gathering, she will be better then -" Here he stopped again, cursing himself. Him and his big mouth! More Clan businness was leaking out of his mouth than water from the mountian stream. Besides, he wasn't a hundred percent sure Sunpaw would get better. He had never seen so much blood and she was a younger apprentice than him. The thought of her acually not surviving for the next Gathering made him falter for once but he brushedthe thought away. Skypaw was with her, she'd live. "Anyway, I don't see how this puts me in a tight spot at all, Ebonystar must have just...forgot to mention it."

Seapaw purred softly in mocking amusement as Adderpaw fumbled for the right words with which to defend himself. This was cut short when he mentioned Sunpaw, and her getting better. At this, Seapaw's eyes glittered in harsh amusement, and leaning over to whisper in his ear again so not to be heard, whispered, "So, I'm guessing Sunpaw was attacked by the bear, right? And you chased it off? Oh, how sweet! How defensive! How mouse-brained of you to let that slip! So, how bad IS she hurt?" She mewed this under her breath, mockingly. She was having fun with this, but all the while, being careful not to let the cats around her hear. She didn't want to get in trouble at her first gathering for having a private conversation while the leaders were speaking, and she could only imagine Ebonystar's fury when he found out what they were talking about. She sensed the tension in Adderpaw about this, but thought this was just silly. She was no kit, ready to squeal out every little slip to a cat in authority, and was not fond of tattle tales herself. There was no way she'd intentionally seek out any cat to let them know, but she wouldn't try to overprotect the information should it pop into a conversation, either.

Wavestar coughed discretely. "Should the gathering begin?" She enquired regally, head held high, causing her amber eyes to glitter. Mosspaw wandered away, glittering green eyes shimmering in vibrant colour. He gazed up at the leaders, waiting hopefully for something to happen, wondeing if any other cats had gotten a dream from StarClan.
