Wavestar saw too late what Lightning was doing, she had seen Ocean Sea, raking her cats below the waves. The SandClan leader was doused in water, and momentarily went under, she swam to the surface, oxygen rapidly declining from her lungs. She had to get back on land... Breaking the surface she yowled, "Thieves of our territory! New comers! Mouse-brained intruders." Then, calling to camp. "SANDCLAN TO THE BEACH!" She hoped desparatly that her clan would hear her. They had to come... had to...

Legs paddling furiously in the icy water, Seapaw let out a loud, piercing yowl as she felt Fish's jaws digging into her hind leg. It was searing pain like she had never felt before, made worse by the icy salt water. Screeching in pain, she flailed about in the water, trying to get back to shore, but Fish would not let her. He had his jaws hooked into her leg in a death grip, and his stronger swimming skills were allowing him to drag her farther and farther from the shore. "Help!" she cried hoarsley, choked through yowls of pain, "Help me, I can't swim!" It was no use. No cat would hear her this far out, and she began screeching in pain again as Fish began raking is claws furiously across her belly, her leg still tight in his jaws.

Wavestar swam through the water at a fair speed, not as fast as Ocean Sea though. Catching sight of Seapaw in the distance, Wavestar began to paddle desperatly towards her, knowing she wouldn't make it with Lightning behind her.

As soon as Wavestar was in the water, Lightning was under, biting at her exposed belly and scratching her legs. The salt in the water could only make things worse for the she-cat. This is what you get for challenging Ocean Sea. He hissed mentally, actually enjoying the fight now he was in his element.
Bubble saw the to-be thrashing with grim satisfaction but it son turned into a flicker of doubt. She could swim, right? All cats could swim. All Ocean Sea cats could swim. Was it possible that she couldn't? Bubble wasn't sure if she really wanted to drown this young she-cat. They were practically the same age, wasn't that a bit...evil? In her moment of hesitation, Bubble's grip loosened and the next second she recieved a blow to the head from the to-be's thrashing hind legs that made her head spin. The tabby she-cat yowled in alarm as stars spun before her eyes. It wasn't the best thing to do, considering she was under water. Sure enough, Bubble began to choke.
[[Now Fish could help Bubble so Seapaw could get away and run for help? If you want.]]

Wavestar hissed and spun around, so that her back was exposed but her belly was not, she changed irection, heading for shore, flinching and yowling insults at Ocean Sea. The SandClan leader reflected that is she lost a life now, her whole clan could suffer, and so, she pushed herself onwards.

Leaping out of the water like the fish his tribe constantly ate, Lightning landed squarely on the floundering she-cat's shoulders, hopinghis extra weight would drive her down under the water. It was a move to end battles - usually. Who knew what land-cats would do in that kind of situation?

Under the water, Fish noticed with alarm that Seapaw had kicked Bubble in the head, and now, the she-cat was going under, eyes bulging with alarm, the to-be tom unlocked his jaws from Seapaw's leg and darted after Bubble, catching her by the scruff of the neck before attempting to drag her to the surface of the water. His lungs burned. He needed to get to the top, and fast, but there was no way he was letting Bubble go.
Yowling in relief as Seapaw felt the grip on her leg loosen, she started paddling quickly but lamely toward shore. When she reached its dampened edge, she gasped, collpasing on the ground, cringing in pain as blood seeped from her open wound. She looked around with panic. Penguinfur was fighting off two cats at once, and getting dangerously close to the water's edge. Wavestar was in the water. She had to get help, and all she could think of was PineClan. Standing up unsteadily, she limped as quickly as she could towards the border, her leg dragging behind her wincing in pain with every quick step she took.
Finally, Fish reached the surface, gasping for breath, and grabbing Bubble again, he swam quickly to shore before dropping his friend on the sand. "Bubble! BUBBLE!!" he wailed furiously.
Hearing his brother's frantic cries, Wood darted over and stared at a sopping Bubble, hoping that she would open her eyes, face frantic with worry and confusion.

Wavestar went under, but slipped from Lightning's grasp, scraping her claws down his belly and heading for the surface and the shore at the same time, at last, she landed, gasping on the sickle of fair sand, scrambling forwards, turning, preparing to fight Lightning on her home turf.

"SEAPAW!" Wavestar yowled. "Get help! From the other clans! Any other clans!" The she-cat coughed, the cold of the sea freezing her as blood oozed from her belly. {Short, but I needed to get that part over with...}

Growling at her escape but knowing he'd inflicted some pretty serious wounds, Lightning didn't even stop to shake off his pelt before flinging himself at the she-cat in a flurry of claws and teeth.
Bubble felt herself sinking. I'm drowning. She thought absently as the water flooded her lungs and blackness began to obscure her vision. She didn't feel any panic or pain, just a bit of regret that she hadn't been much use in the battle. Just before she passed out, she felt strong jaws grab her scruff and thoguht she just might have scented the water-logged scent of Fish. then her world dropped away.

Wavestar leapt at him, eyes cloded with pain, hooking a set of curving claws into his jaw she hissed. "Run now ocean mouse-brain and we will not pursue you!" She knew full well Lightning would stay, but words were worth a try.

"That is only because your fish-brained cats cannot walk!" He growled through the blood that was filling his jaws. Running out of options, Lightning headbutted the she-cat in the face before springing back, swiping a tongue over his aching jaws and hoping she would give in.

Wavestar hissed in disbelief at the cat's words, snarling at the pain as it raged through her body. She swiped a set of claws into Lightning's side, stepping back in one fluid movement. She she-cat's silvery-white, amber-tinged fur was stained with blood and the fire of battle was present in her elegant amber eyes. Standing there, she looked strangely magnificent.

Screeching, Penguinfur felt himself being pushed back into the water by two cat. One raked at his stomach, making him yowl, and another bit into his leg. Chest-deep in the water now, the deputy hissed as salt fled into his wounds, making them sting horribly. Bring up his one free paw, the tom brought it down on the Ocean sea cat's back attempting to loosen his grip so he could swim back to shore. Large clumps of black and white fur drifted into the water, soaked with the red of blood as Penguinfur twisted and turned, trying to get the Ocean sea cats to move, so he could be out of the water. At least on land he had the advantage - these cats weren't used to steady earth.
Rain hissed, pulling away from Lightning and Wavestar, then ran into the water, attempting to clear his eyes of the damp fur that had fallen into them. Once his vision was back, the tom could see a to-be escaping towards the border. Hissing, the tom began to chase after her, weight down by the water absorbed into his pelt and the wounds inflicted to him by the clan healer.

Snarling at the she-cat, Lightning glanced around the beach. He knew his Tribe hadn't fought before but there were so many of them! Why weren't these two cats loosing? There was the white and black tom being attacked by three of his own and he still wasn't yeilding. At least hima nd this other cat were evenly matched.
