Hearing the summon, the tom let his coal-black pads carry him back soundlessly, where the near-royal Wavestar stood, looking over her clan. Waiting to see what the address was about, Penguinfur flicked his dark ear, odd-colored gaze fixed on the leader.
Wavestar began to speak her, strong voice filling the camp, as the few SandClan cats waited for her to finish the order. Finally, Wavestar announced the new deputy, much to Penguinfur's surprise.
Me?
Uncertainty flowing off the tom in scary amounts, Penguinfur met his leaders eyes. For a second, fear build up in the tomcats heart, but so did happiness. Who would have guessed that Penguinkit, runt of the litter, always tripping over his own over-sized paws would become Penguinfur, deputy of SandClan?
Stepping to wards the leader, not a foot out of place, despite his excitement and nervousness, and dipped his head respectfully to Wavestar. Here, with the wind blowing his fluffy fur, Penguinfur looked more like a fluff ball then a cat, sitting next to his majestic leader.
Turning to clan, both eye alive with fire and gratitude, Penguinfur took a moment in his mind to prepare his speech.

Ribbondance purred. Of course it would be Penguinfur. She was glad her Clan now had a deputy, all she needed was an Apprentice, and many positions would be filled. But who could she trust with the job of being Medicine Cat? The lives of Cats would be in their paws... Just like her. She had been born alone, her kin dying after her birth. How she wished she could remember her mother, Pinetwigs.

Wavestar dipped her head respectfully, unable to suppress a smile of happiness and pride, she had chosen Penguinfur because she knew he would do a good job, and it was a relief that he hadn't expected to be made deputy. Her heart swelled with pride and joy as she curled her tail around her legs, waiting.

Ridgepaw looked up at the new deputy and purred Penguinfur seemed a good choice. He flicked his tail and watched his new deputy waiting for him to speak, his paw still resting on the vole, he was intending to give to Eaglestorm. He looked around and then shook his head his thick pelt keeping him warm as an icy breeze blew over him. He blinked and ran his pink tongue around his lips.

Eaglestorm perked his ears to his new deputy as he sat outside the Elders Den, his foggy green eyes saw nothing of the camp around him, but he could hear and smell everything going on around him. His white face was pointed to the tire and it almost seemed as if he could see the leader and deputy. Though he had not seen either in many moons. His nose picked up on the scent of vole and he hoped no one would snatch it up before he got to it.
He lay down, resting his head on his paws his scarred pelt rising and falling smoothly with steady breaths. The old brown cat waited for the deputies speech patiently.

Ribbondance watched as the Elder Eaglestorm exited the den. "How are you doing?" she asked softly, as she walked slowly over to him. She liked to check on all the Cats of the Clan, and give them regular health checks, to be sure they were in top shape, if disaster came knocking. Her golden eyes narrowed in pleasure as she waited for Penguinfur's speech, she liked to listen to the speeches, especially of the truly worthy cats appointed high positions.

Eaglestorm's ears flicked towards Ribbondance and he turned his head over to her creating the illusion he was looking at her and he could see her. He dipped his head in greeting, "My bones are a tad stiff... But that comes with old age" he said shrugging it off. He wasn't one to complain. He looked over at Penguinfur "I'm happy to see the Clan with a deputy... I think she made a fine choice" Eaglestorm commented. He would have enjoyed seeing Penguinfur's face when he was named.

"Yes, I agree. Penguinfur was an obvious choice," she mewed, turning to look at the Cat. "I still need to find an apprentice," she mewed to herself, flicking her tail anxiously.

Eaglestorm nodded and said "That he is, I'm sure he will do great!" He purred and shook his head. He was proud to see his clan getting on its feet to the best of its ablitys with so few members.
Eaglestorm looked at her and said "You need an apprentice and the clan need warriors." He flicked his tail and shook his head softly.

"Yes, the Clan is quite empty..." she sighed, lying down beside the elder. She flicked her tail again, thinking. The Clan was quite empty, and could easily be invaded and attacked...

"I am sure the Clan will be fine... We always have managed before." Eaglestorm said and perked his ears, smelling Ridgepaw padding over, with the vole. "I hope you have been out training today..." Eaglestorm reminded his son.
The young grey and brown tom cat rested the vole at Eaglestorm's paws. "I'm feeding the Elders" Ridgepaw said. "The voles for you Eaglestorm" He looked over at Ribbondance and dipped his head in greeting.

"Hello, Ridgepaw!" she mewed, greeting the Apprentice. "How is the hunting?" "Yes, we'll survive, as always," she agreed, nodding her masked calico head in agreement. As the smell of fresh kill wafted over to her nose, she got up to feed herself. She picked up a good sized mouse and brought it back to Eaglestorm, to eat with him.

"A tad bit slow" Ridgepaw said, "But I did find that vole. I scented more but couldn't find any on our territory" He shrugged and watched as Eaglestorm bent over and started on the vole. There now he could eat, he had feed the Elders. He padded towards the fresh kill pile and picked out a clam for himself.
"I wonder how long until Ridgepaw recives his warriors name" Eaglestorm wondered out loud when Ribbondance came back. He took a bite out of the stringy vole. It tasted good even if it was a bit stringy. He hoped to see his only kit named a warrior before he went to join StarClan... Not that he was going to any time soon. He still had many moons left to live.

Seapaw nodded briefly in response to the medicine cat's reply. She was sort of dissapointed there was nothing to do--she liked helping the medicine cat collect herbs and berries, and wished that she had something more to do for the clan than ripping up birds and mice. Flicking her ears, she padded over to the clearing, and heard Wavestar appoint Penguinfur deputy. This was something positive at least. The clan had been needing a deputy, and she felt safer now that they had one. Padding over to penguinfur, she beamed, twitching her whiskers in appreciation. "Congratulations Penguinfur!" she mewed, all her usual sarcasm and bitterness leaving her voice. She truly was happy for Penguinfur, it was the right cat to choose.
((Sorry for the typo "Seakit" xD I changed it))

Looking around the camp, Seapaw felt restless. She needed something--anything--to keep her buisy, so she padded over to the edge of the camp. Scrambling over the boulders that surrounded the area, she faced the ocean, an icy breeze pushing her long, sandy fur away from her. Gazing at the shore, she caught sight of some shells, which gave her an idea. She knew how she could help the clan! Scrambling over to the shore, she picked up several hollow shells in her mouth, and carried them over to a large mound of snow sevreal foxlengths away. She then began using her paws to scoop the snow into the shells, making sure to take snow only from the top of the mound as to keep sand out, and warmed them with her body, waiting for the snow to melt before adding more. Finally, she had three shells full of icy water that could be used for the clan. Purring happily at her idea, she carefully picked up the shells in her mouth, making sure not to spill any water, and brought them back to camp. Seeking out Ribbondance, she carefully put down the shells. The medicine cat would find good use for the fresh, icy water. "I've brought you some fresh water, Ribbondance. You know, in case any cat suddenly is dying from dehydration." she mewed good naturedly, nodding at the shells full of water at her paws.
