Shadowpaw sighed. She had stayed on the edge of the Clan cats at the ceremonies, and had felt quite left out. Still, she congratulated Ridgehawk and Penguinfur, but then padded towards her den, her tail dragging limply in the sand.

Wavestar slid of the tire and swept towards the shed outside camp, but not before yowling. "Congratulations Penguinfur, Ridgehawk, may StarClan be with you!" Just before she scrambled over the boulders, Wavestar caught sight of Shadowpaw, she didn't react, but felt slightly guilty, many ceremonies had been late due to the snow. But she knew that Shadowpaw would make a fine warrior soon enough.

Seapaw was about to go out and muck around, looking for things that Ribbondance might need, when she spotted Shadowpaw, tail dragging along the sand, and looking rather depressed. She padded over to the sullen looking apprentice. "What's wrong, Shadowpaw? You look like you have a fox biting your tail." she mewed, flicking her ears in the direction of the drooping tail that was leaving a trail in the sand. "If you want something to do, you could come with me--I was just about to go out to try and find things that Ribbondance might need. Cobewebs and the like. And," she added, "If you wanted to pour out your deepest, most depressing feelings to me along the way, I wouldn't argue." her voice was dripping with bitterness, but her eyes were dancing and laughing. "What do you say?" she mewed, giving the apprentice a playful flick with her tail.

Ribbondance purred at her Leader's decisions. She knew what she had done was, indeed, wise. Ridgehawk would make for an excellent Warrior, and PenguinFur was suited to be Deputy. She needed to get to work finding those cobwebs, though...

Wavestar jumped suddenly, how had she forgotten? Almost kicking herself, she scrambled back over the boulders and rushed over to Penguinfur. "I was wondering, could you take Ridgehawk on a hunting patrol by the border?" She paused. "I'll come, prey is low at the moment."

"Yes, the Clan needs more food," added Ribbondance, as she walked over to Wavestar and Penguinfur. "And if you happen to come by any cobwebs could you let me know where?" She narrowed her eyes happily, the Clan was pretty close, and that was good, even though there weren't many cats.

Wavestar nodded. Then said to Penguinfur. "On second thoughts, I'll get some cobwebs, I know the perfect place." The cat signalled for Ribbondance to follow her, and leapt in one fluid movement over the boulders surrounding camp. She landed on her feet with a thud and waited for the medicine cat to follow.

Ribbondance followed swiftly, landing beside the Leader. "I'm glad you can help," she meowed, looking grateful. She looked at the icy waves, lapping at the frozen shore. She loved the water, no matter how cold it was, it was always worth it to stick your paws in... But now was not the time, she could do things like that later...

Shadowpaw stopped, and sat, wrapping her black tail neatly round her paws. "No, it's alright. I think I might be needed here anyway." she meowed, sighing. She glanced wistfully at the new warrior, but then snapped her gaze back to the apprentice before her. Shadowpaw was feeling more and more left out in her Clan, and was constantly wondering if StarClan had pput her on the right path to follow.

Wavestar purred happily, slipping elegantly into the shed near camp. Standing on her hind legs, the SandClan leader jumped, twisting her paw about some draping spiderweb, it's tender silver silk twirling about her claws.

"Alright, little miss gloomy..." Seapaw mewed, dissapointed that she woudln't have a cat to accompany her. She turned away. Glancing around, she realized that Ribbondance had already left, probably to collect the cobwebs herself, she realized. Heaving a sigh, she scrambled over the boulders and began padding toward the PineClan border where there were more trees, realizing she was more likely to find cobwebs here. Far off in the distance, she thought she heard the bellowing roar of a bear, and was glad that she didn't live in the wooded clan, as she picked up a twig in her mouth and began sweeping it through cobwebs until she had a enough. She then padded back to camp and dropped it in the medicine cat's den, waiting patiently for the she-cat's return, tail flicking back and fourth.

Wavestar twisted her paw a few more times, collecting a bundle of cobwebs. Laying them in front of Ribbondance she said. "I'd better get to Shadowpaw, I've been neglecting her training recently." The cat cringed at the thought, streaking past the medicine cat, she leapt out and over into the camp, landing with a thud in front of Shadowpaw. Partly laughing she told the apprentice. "We'd better get training."

"Thank you," she said, and nodded to the leader. Hearing what she said made her feel most lonely. Oh, how she wish she had her own apprentice... Someone who she knew would keep the clan safe after she had gone to join StarClan. She wanted to know the Clan's future was stable, and the apprentice was capable. As she trotted back to camp, leaping onto one of the rugged boulders, she thought harder about who she could choose. There were a few capable Apprentices who would probably do well, but she couldn't make up her muddled mind.
"Thank you, Seapaw," she meowed in her motherly tone. As she could not have kits, the clan was, to her, the kits she'd never have...

"You're welcome," Seapaw purred. She usually found it hard to be sarcastic with Ribbondance, the cat was always so warm, it would just feel cruel to do so. She then gazed eagerly up at the medicine cat, sandy eyes wide. "If you need anything else, just ask, it's always fun helping you, Ribbondance," at least, she realized, she hadn't lost her brute honesty when speaking to the cat. Because it was true, she enjoyed looking for herbs and helping the ginger, black and white she-cat.
