Ashenpaw was started as a cat below her mewed, "H'lo". Jumping, and nearly falling off the small peak--which would have been quite a disaster, being so high up--she glared down at the cat below her, only to find the timid warrior, Strongheart, staring up at her. Relaxing a bit, Ashenpaw found courage within herself to confront him. Sure, she wasn't supposed to be out here--but she had a feeling that Strongheart's heart wasn't quite as strong as his name implied, and she could easily stay up here all day with him telling her repeatedly to come down.
"Hello Strongheart," she mewed icily, "I'm not leaving, so you can just forget it. Leave me alone--I came up here to bask in my own thoughts."
It was true, and he had ruined the moment--and if he had caught her talking to herself, she would be extremely embarrassed. She certainly hadn't expected another cat to be joining her. And that left Ashenpaw irritated and cranky. Glaring at Strongheart once more, she turned her gaze back to the scene before her--but now that her thoughts had been interrupted, it seemed far less significant. Plus, she couldn't think with another cat watching her. She had half a mind to just leave her post--but that would make it seem like she was giving in to Strongheart, and she wasn't. So instead, she curled her tail around her paws and sat firm and still. He wasn't moving her unless he batted her off the peak with his paw. He'll have to leave eventually... | ...oh i won't go, oh, no, no -♫

Strongheart sighed at Ashenpaw's words. Well, at least he tried. There wasn't really anything he could do now, except perhaps drag the apprentice all the way back to camp. And that wouldn't be fun for either of them.
Besides, Ashenpaw just needed some space to think. Strongheart understood that. As long as she didn't try anything foolish, there was no harm in letting her stay. He'd simply wait and escort the apprentice back to camp, to make sure she was safe. He did feel a bit guilty, letting Ashenpaw get away with this, but she wasn't alone anymore, was she? In fact, the moment he'd found her, she was no longer breaking the rules. It was a weak argument, but it made him feel a little better about not living up to his name.
He settled himself on the ledge, staring out at the horizon, content with waiting for the apprentice to come back down on her own.

Tigerstorm spun around and faced his apprentice, "Well, do you want to go?" he asked Spiritpaw, referring to the gathering. He looked down at the ground and shuffled it. "We should ask Moonstar if we can go, I want to find out what's happening in the rest of the clans." he mewed with a hint of evil in his voice and he looked around with a strange glare.
Tigerstorm swept a chunk of snow into a pile with his tail, waiting impatiently for his small apprentice's answer. He pressed his ears against his head and sighed with a low growl.

//OoC: I'm going to make it so she's never been to a gathering before.\\ BiC: Spiritpaw skidded to a halt behind her mentor. "Yeah! I've never been to one before, you know." She looked up at her mentor. "Please, can we go back and ask? It'll be a good experience for me, so I can get to know the other clans and stuff. And I promise I won't give anything away!"
Spiritpaw's usually bright and happy eyes were now pleading. She really wanted to go. Even if she had to miss training the next day! "I promise I'll be good! You can trust me." She was now crouched on the ground, her tail twitching. "Pllleeeeaaaassssssseeeee??" Yeah, she was that desperate. Plus, she wanted to meet people!
Spiritpaw sighed and shook herself. It was beginning to get cold, and her fur wasn't so thick, even though she lived in a cold place.

Ashenpaw was both relieved and disgusted at Strongheart's inability to force her down from the peak--and out of stubborn anger, she decided that there was no way she would descend from her perch until Strongheart had gone away.
Ashenpaw waited a few moments. It felt like eons. Still, Strongheart was sitting at his post, seemingly waiting for her to leave. What is this, a line to the peak of the mountain?! She could just imagine all the cats in SnowClan lining up for a turn here. It made her angry.
"You're not going to sit there all day, are you?" she mewed icily. Glancing up at the now dark sky--the sun had sunk low in the sea, its icy waters putting out its flame--she saw a round, full, glowing moon. The gathering! It was tonight! Looking down in alarm, she groaned as she watched a patrol lead by Moonstar make way down the mountain. In the distance, she could see the small shapes of cats moving about by the knotted tree.
"Great! The gathering is tonight, and they've left without us!" giving up her stubborn streak in favor of anger, she bustled down the side of the mountain, purposely whacking against Strongheart as she ambled by. Knowing she wouldn't be able to go to the gathering, the ashen she-cat began making her way sullenly to camp. But not before she gave an angry, "Happy now, Strongheart?"
It was all his fault! If he had left her alone, she would have left and be chosen to go to the gathering, Ashenpaw just knew it! Now, she was stuck on SnowClan territory with dumb SnowClan cats until the next full moon.

-------------------->Blood will spill blood...
Padding through the lightly layered snow, her pawprints making subtle impressions behind her, Moonstar thought hard about Phoenixpaw. She had never known a warrior, let alone an apprentice, sleep for this long after an injury.
Will she ever wake up again? she asked herself, shaking her head and twitching her ears. Her usually soft amber eyes blazed with fury at the thought of Stormcloud. Why would a warrior hurt an apprentice this badly? It would have been slightly fairer if it was another apprentice that attacked her, but then that would have been astonishing that an apprentice could inflict such a wound. Moonstar felt an angry hatred bubble up inside her at Stormcloud. She had to know what happened before the Gathering.
She turned to Heavyheart beside her, who had returned to his solemn, unhappy stature once the SnowClan cats had gone outside. She felt a wave of pity for him. He had watched Phoenixpaw grow from a young kit. And he had made a promise to Hawkflight to protect her.
"Heavyheart," Moonstar murmured, touching his flank with her tail, to make sure he was listening. The two cats wove around a large rock, and Heavyheart looked up. "I need to know what happened before Phoenixpaw was injured." the silver leader meowed quietly, so the rest of the patrol didn't overhear.
Heavyheart stopped, and looked directly into Moonstar's eyes, and she was slightly scared of what she saw in his eyes. The blazing fire, that could burn anything in it's wake if he let it go. The terrible sadness, like his heart had been ripped open. But most of all, the overwhelming guilt that was shown clearly in his stormy grey orbs.
Heavyheart's emotions suddenly all tumbled out a once, and he unsheathed his claws, digging them into the snow. He lifted his muzzle to the sky. He wanted to suddenly scratch any cat who was before him, no matter who it was. He just wanted to get scratched back...
The moment passed, and he relaxed again. He realised his muscles had been tight and extremely tense. He looked into Moonstar's eyes again. He started to explain, and Moonstar was surprised at how strong and steady his voice was.
"And that's when..." he swallowed. "When Phoenixpaw was hurt." he finished, and looked down at his paws. Absently, he realised that he must have started walking again when he started to explain.
Moonstar touched his flank again with her tail. "Thank you." she murmured. "I am sorry for putting you through this."
Heavyheart shook his head, and raced on ahead. Moonstar sighed. She wished Phoenixpaw never went on the patrol. But then, she knew, another warrior or apprentice would have to take her place on the patrol, and they would get hurt instead. Phoenixpaw is strong. she thought firmly. She will get through this.
But in her heart, she wasn't so sure.
And the lake will run red...<------------------------- [/sub]

"You're not going to sit there all day, are you?"
Strongheart was startled by the apprentice's words. Despite the awkward situation, he had managed to lose himself in his thoughts as if it was a normal day and he was alone. Now he had to jump back into reality, and he humbly offered up the only response he could think of.
"Dunno. Are you?"
Ashenpaw was stubborn, sure, but Strongheart was patient. She'd have to leave eventually, right?
And then she realized it was gathering night. Strongheart made no effort to get out of Ashenpaw's way. He supposed he deserved the blow for completely ruining her day. Of course, Strongheart didn't particularly mind missing the gathering; that was a crowd of cats far too large and noisy for him to deal with. But he knew apprentices in particular looked forward to these things.
/You should have just left her alone,/ he thought to himself sadly. /You always screw things up./ He had half a mind to let the young she-cat go back by herself, but if anything happened to her he'd never forgive himself.
/You started this whole mess. Now finish it./
Heaving a sigh, the shaggy tom padded reluctantly back towards camp, being careful to stay at least a couple fox-lengths away from Ashenpaw.
/That way, when she turns around to murder me, I'll have time to defend myself.../

Holy Strawberries, Batman! Though at this point in the day, it did not snow, the pale tom still shivered. He always shivered, and waved his tail, if only to keep his rump warm. He wondered if he would ever get used to the frigid climate here in SnowClan. SnowClan. It's not like he was adopted into this clan or anything. full-out SnowClan cat he was. But then, he wondered, Why in StarClan do I have short fur! He shivered some more. He waved his tail some more. "Brr!" He complained out loud and looked over his shoulder. But then, a breeze shook the leafless trees, making them sound like claking bones, and tossed up a blossom of settled snow, blooming gracefully, though in a fury. "Ack!" But Rowanpaw wasn't really one to take in the beauty of thingy, especially when they stung his eyes and nipped at the tender flesh between his toes. He shivered some more. The ginger apprentice knew there was probably some sort of chaos in camp still. Poor Pheonixpaw, she was a lovely apprentice, why her? But she is strong! His more optimistic side reminded his conscience scornfully, she shall pull through! "I'm so cold!" Rowanpaw silenced his thoughts with another whine. Going back to camp and warming up in a nest was an option, but chaos wasn't really his 'thing'. The apprentice shivered some more and leapt on top of a rock, rather, attempted to leap onto a rock. But, to his surprise and frustration, it was covered in a slick, invisible ice. There's a surprise.
thump!
He tumbled to the snow-covered ground and sighed. "I'm going back to camp." He gave up avoiding it. Perhaps Onyxpaw was in camp, and if she wasn't, he knew his brother would be. With another sigh, Rowanpaw pulled himself from the ground, shaking a little, and took of, back into the flurry.
((Short appearance. xD Rowanpaw to SnowClan Camp)) We're in a jam!

Onyxpaw looked back and saw Stolenpaw chasing after her. She was going to stop when she spotted Horsepaw in pursuit. She closed her eyes and ran faster. She couldn't stop now! Snow sprayed as she dashed through the territory.
Stolenpaw looked back when Onyxpaw did and spotted his sister. He groaned and skidded to a stop, glaring at her. He wanted her to go back. He looked over at the camp and flicked his tail in the direction they came from. 'Go' he mouthed. His eyes were blazing. He couldn't let Onyxpaw get hurt out here like Phoenixpaw! He waited for Horsepaw to make her decision.
Onyxpaw nearly tripped over rocks, but catching herself before she fell. She turned her head back to see if anyone was following her. Nope. No one. She walked forward a bit and sat in the snow. She wanted to bury herself or atleast rip her tongue out. She was really angry though!

ยบ Suddenly, Raindance's yowls came echoing down the mountain from the mouth of the camp entrance. They bounced off the rocks and ricoched through the air. Her words were an angry threat.
"HEY YOU! APPRENTICES! THIS IS RAINDANCE, AND IF YOU DON'T GET BACK TO CAMP RIGHT THIS SECOND YOU'RE GOING TO BE IN EVEN MORE TROUBLE THAN YOU'RE ALREADY IN!"
The words hung in the air, ringing and stinging for several heartbeats after they were spoken.
[ooc]About Psycho's idea all those weeks ago--avalanche? Spontaneously? A small one? What do you think? Or save it for later? Just thought of it as she's yowling down the mountain and all. ALSO: It's short I know, but the full post is in camp.[/ooc]

Horsepaw skidded to a halt as her brother stopped abruptly in front of her, causing snow to fly up around her brown-striped paws. She knew he wanted her to go back from the expression on his face before he even opened his mouth and she'd made up her mind before he'd closed it after the silent order.
"Not a chance, bro." She meowed, green eyes hard but not without a fleck of worry in them, "If you think I'm letting you just race off out of the territory like -" Horsepaw cut herself and swallowed nervously before continuing, "Well I'm not."
She couldn't let him go! What if something happened to him like it had done to Phoenixpaw? Onyxpaw was in trouble too and Horsepaw didn't want either of her denmates to get hurt. She couldn't turn back. Not unless he absolutely promised to return.
The unusually coloured brown and white tabby winced slightly as the deputy's threats of extra trouble slid down the mountainside after the three apprentices but didn't back down. Her tail flicked with anxiety as she wished the three of them could just turn around and go back to camp but she would stay out here as long as Stolenpaw did. not even the wrath of Raindance could make her risk loosing another brother.

ooc: That would be cool! Here all start it.
bic: Onyxpaw could her the yowls of Raindance bouncing off the mountains. If she went back she would be in BIG trouble, but if she stayed she would be in worse trouble. She turned and sighed, back to camp it is. A rumble hit her ears and she stopped in her tracks. Snow was just falling, it looked more like running, down a mountain. It must have been because of Raindance's calls. Onnyxpaw couldn't move though and the snow was coming closer to her. She was staring in shock. She could feel the force of the wind hitting her face. Closing her eyes she turned to run, but the white waves gulped her up.
"HELP ME!!!" she shrieked. She cold snow engulfed her and she struggled to get air. She was tossed against the ground, pain surged through her. She was stuck in a wave of snow.
---
Stolenpaw was about to agree with his sister and head back to camp when he heard Onyxpaw cry out for help. He darted away from his sister and stared at the clouds of ice as he darted closer to where Onyxpaw was being swallowed up by snow. He'd have to jump in there some how. He didn't know how to do it though. Even better, if he got hurt he would be stuck in the medicine den with Phoenixpaw! He dashed into the snow clouds. "Onyxpaw!" he murmured through the ice and 'swam' to Onyxpaw, his head bobbing in and out of the snow.
=Agh, short and really dramatic!=

"No! Stolenpaw, wait!" Horsepaw cried out desperately as her brother dove into the snow. Mouse-brain! It was so stupid but he always seemed to follow Onyxpaw and that meant that she had to follow him. Cursing the snow, Horsepaw gave a resigned sigh and leaped into the white powdery hill. Churning her forepaws through it, the she-cat struggled to keep her head from sinking. As Horsepaw spat out a chunk of ice-cold snow she realised that snow was a whole lot more like water than she'd first though. At least her brother's smoky grey head was clearly visible against the backdrop of pure white. All you could see of Horsepaw was the odd brown stripe seeing as her white base colour blended right in with the snow.
The she-cat missed her footing and was dunked into the snow more than she would have liked. Waving her legs madly, making her look like she was riding an invisible four-pedaled bike, she surfaced again with a gasp and yowled her alarm to the skies instinctively. Horsepaw shook her head and ploughed on after her brother toward Onyxpaw. The sooner they rescued the bubbly she-cat, the better.

Stolenpaw spotted Horsepaw in the corner of his eye, struggling. Onyxpaw could come later, this was his sister he was thinking about. His paws thrashed through the snow and he gripped Horsepaw's scruff in his jaws. They were at the edge of the avalanche. He jumped with all his might off a rock and flung Horsepaw as he landed in the snow. "Are you alright?" he coughed and glanced over at Horsepaw. Onyxpaw was in the paw's of StarClan now, there was no way he was going back in there. He coughed out snow and crawled over to Horsepaw. hopefully she landed on all fours and didn't break any bones.
---
Onyxpaw let out a shriek. Her heavy wet fur pulled her down and she gasped for air. Large rocks, straight ahead. She closed her eyes, hoping that StarClan was at her side, probably not after what she said to Ashenpaw. She bit her tongue as she collided with one of the rocks, the snow brushing past her with such force and she let out a pained yowl. She knew she was bleeding, but where? Her head hurt too. Something was wrong here, she couldn't move, but she could still feel the snow pushing past her. Someone had to help her!

Oh no, oh no, oh no! This was not going at all how she'd meant it to! Horsepaw struggled more and more, realising a little too late that her gangly frame was just not up to this sort of thing. Just as her tabby head began to sink out of sight forever she felt jaws clamp around her fur and her brother's scent washed over her. Relief seeped through the young apprentice as she was pulled free of the snow and flung onto the ground. Her paws stung a bit with the impact but her cat instincts had left her standing on four very wobbly legs.
"Are you alright?"
This time Horsepaw was the one who couldn't speak. She simply pushed her head into her brother's shoulder, shaking slightly. She could have died! The brown and white apprentice had never had any real run-in with death before. Nor had she ever felt so grateful to another cat. "Thanks, Stolenpaw." She meowed, her voice muffled a little by his smoky fur. He had spoken too, for once. She pulled back and 'smiled'.
Then the 'smile' dropped right off her face to be replaced with an expression of horror and guilt. "Onyxpaw!" She gasped, her head jerking back around to look at the pile of snow covering her denmate. Her stubbornness had resulted in her brother being distracted from his rescue mission! Now Onyxpaw could be dead and it was her fault. However, if Stolenpaw had gone after her, he could be buried under that too. Horsepaw felt a chill rattle down her spine that had nothing to do with the weather.
"We have to do something!" The jittery she-cat yelped to her brother, trying not to look at the snow that could be Onyxpaw's grave, "I'll get Raindance!"
With that, the brown and white tabby sped off toward camp, throwing a glance back at her silent brother. Maybe he would come or maybe he would stick around to try and dig Onyxpaw out once the snow settled enough. She just hoped he would be careful.
