"Oh," meowed Cobalt, tilting his head. "The Mountains, huh? What's it like? I've never been out of Town, you see..." [/center]

Felicia glanced at Cobalt strangely. "It's harsh at times, but if snow is coming towards the mountain from a certain angle it is well sheltered."

Nodding, Tizzy headed into the town with the cats, giving Tarsen nervous glances every few seconds. Did the air seem heavy, tight suspicious? Or was it just her. She shook off the feeling, deciding it must just be because she wasn't used to being with so many cats at once, it was ovewhelming.
Dusk followed the cats into the Town, padding up to Swallow quickly to walk by her friend's side. She wanted desperatley to ask what Swallow was doing with all these cats, but held her tongue, worrying that some cat might overhear them and become suspicious.

"Well she's somewhere in the Town and here's a good a place as any to start looking." The balck and white she-cat meowed with a shrug, trying not to show how little she cared about actually finding the loner. If 'Felicia' was alive, which she doubted, the two other cats would probably just leave once they'd found her. That was something she didn't want. First, Swallow had to somehow convince them to stay on and join...whatever it was they were going to form.

Knocking over the silver garbage can with his front paw, Winter watched as the contents clattered noisily down. A few half-eaten fish were all the loner really found, though. Picking up one of the fish, it took only a bite until the white tom hit the sharp bones of the fish. Apparently, two-legs weren't as useful as Winter though they were.
Ears pricking up, Winter suddenly heard a few cats coming his way, and cursed the racket he had made with the can. Not many cats came this way, and so the loner had grown careless. But by the sounds they were making Winter realized they were forest cats, and at least he had the advantage here. The loner's paws and long ago adjusted to the hard two-leg ground, and he knew his way through the streets better then any forest cat alive. so he was safe.
Fier Neve heard the sound of metal hitting ashpalt, and immediately turned around. Of course, the tom regretted this quickly enough, as he watched blood slowly seep out of his know damaged pads. Cursing the two-legs mentally, Fier Neve raised his paw and began to lick it slowly. In the forest he would immediately have found some cobwebs or other herb to dress himself with, but here he knew nothing.
Flicking his tail towards the sound, Fier Neve put his paw down, hoping he had at least slowed down the bleeding. "We could go there."

"Sounds good to me." Replied Swallow tightly, remaining alert to danger. It would not be such a fine way to gain these cats' trust if she lead them right into a dog-attack. The tuxedo she-cat walked out past Fier Neve towards the source of the noise, wondering if it would actually be this cat they were looking for. She called over her shoulder to Tarsen and Tizzy, "Where do you to come from, by the way? A Clan?" They didn't have warrior names but that didn't mean they hadn't originated from a Clan or were leading double-lives. She and Dusk proved that. A gleam entered her eyes as she cast a glance back over the cats following her. She already had one who could be a medicine cat, one who could be deputy and two warriors. If Tarsen and Tizzy were mates then she might soon have a queen and some kits. Definately a good start for her very own Clan. Swallow knew she would need many more warriors if she was to stand any chance against PineClan or SnowClan but they had all the time in the world to do that.

Tizzy gave Swallow a look, still suspicious of the heavy air around her, but refusing to show weakness. "Well, I'm a loner, though I lived on clan territory all my life without getting caught. Until recently, they found me, and I was driven out. And Tarsen was born in a pet store. A twoleg owned him for a while but he hated it, so he ran away and made his life out here, in the no-lands. And what about you, Swallow? Where are you from?" Tizzy felt it was risky to be asking questions like this to such a cat, but then again, she needed to seem strong, and didn't back down.
Dustwater couldn't help but feel a respect flicker through her at the odd cat's determination to seem bold and strong in front of Swallow. Weather or not this was Tizzy's actual personality, Dustwater did not know, but it didn't seem to matter all that much either way. The fact was, even if she was faking it, the cat did not let on if she was discouraged or frightened by the big black and white she-cat, and Dustwater felt she had to respect that.

Swallow felt midly surprised with the tone Tizzy used to ask her about herself. It was bolder than she would have expected and Swallow nodded thoughtfully to herself. This cat could make a courageous warrior. She had also, unintentionally, given Swallow an opportunity to begin to put her plan into action. "Oh, I'm just your average loner really. Born from a twoleg's kittypet, didn't like their life and ran away." Swallow lied easily, thinking carefully about the wording of her next sentence. "So, you like the sound of Clan life then? I know I've always thought it would be something special to be in such a tight-knit group of cats. All depending on each other, being loyal and so on. It gets a bit lonely out here, doesn't it Dusk?"

At that moment, there was no doubt in Dusk's mind that Swallow's plan had something to do with the clans, and she narrowed her eyes in thought for the briefest second, before responding, "Yes, Swallow. It really does...sometimes, you won't see a cat for days out here. And when you do, you're usually fighting," she mewed casually, based only on her personal knowledge of the area. All she thought was that Swallow had better not be planning anything against PineClan. That would put her in an odd position, and it had helped countless times, having a spy in the clans to report to the outsiders in the no-lands and town. She might even be able to work PineClan into whatever plot Swallow had in mind, and if there was a battle involved, maybe she'd be able to get PineClan to help--but nevermind that. First, she had to find out what her black-and-white friend was up to, and she ached to find out, wishing the ugly loners would go away so that she could speak with her old friend in private.
Tizzy eyed Swallow suspiciously. "Yes, it would. But somehow, you don't strike me as...as the clan type," she mewed, not believing she'd venture this far to seem bold. She did not wince or back down, though, and maybe that was because part of her was curious, suspicious. Swallow struck her as the type of cat who didn't need anyone, who didn't want anyone, and it was impossible to imagine the black and white she-cat in a clan, of all places. Still, she said nothing more, merley waiting for the cat's response, suddenly intensley aware that if she went too far, a fight could break out, and it would be her and Tarsen against these three huge, well muscled cats. Suddenly, a biting wind blew through the territory, and Tizzy picked up a scent. A PineClan scent. Pine clan?! There were no--suddenly, her heart stopped as her eyes passed over Dusk, and her eyes widened. She was finding it hard to move. Hard to waver her eyes. This cat "Dusk" was from PineClan! She had seen her at gatherings and when she was being chased out of the PineClan territory. And she was known for going on long hunting trips. Suddenly, everything seemed even more confusing than before, and Tizzy's jaw hung open, trying to find the right words to say to Dusk. She found none.

Tarsen had been silent all this time, walking on and on. The tom's amber eyes glittered dully and he sighed. Felicia mewed. "Anyway. I'd better be going." With that, the silvery-blue-gray she-cat padded elegantly and silently away, sliding through shadows as her lime green eyes danced.

Swallow's fur bristled but she purred anyway, wincing inwardly at the strangeness of it's sound. Swallow hardly ever purred. She realised with grim determination that if these cats did not join her she would have to try and kill them. She could hardly have them running around telling cats she was nice, after all. Her reputation would be shattered and out here, reputation and her own wits and strength were all she really had. "No? Forgive me for saying it, but neither do you and yet you've lived on some Clan's territory all your life. Tell me, Tizzy, if you could have another chance at Clan life, would you take it?" Swallow noticed Tizzy shoot Dusk a suspicious glance and sniffed the air, able to detect the faintest whiff of PineClan. Mouse-dung. She cursed mentally, now she would appear to be friends with a traitor. Swallow spared an icy glance for Dusk before continuing along the hard Twoleg path, toward the noise that sounded a fair bit like one of those nasty-smelling, shiny, hollow Twoleg boulders that they filled with scraps and rubbish hitting the ground.

"What are you oggling at?!" Dusk hissed, narrowing her pale green, and suddenly icy eyes. Inside, fear welled up in her chest. This cat knew! This cat had lived among the clans, and she knew that she was of PineClan origin. She didn't let her defensive stance down. "Well? You can stop staring, or you can say whatever's on your mind, you mouse-brain!" she hissed again, tail curling in agitation.
At Dusk's harsh response and Swallow's icy glare, things were going bad, fast, and Tizzy decided it would be wise to drop the subject alltogether and pretend like she had never smelled the tangy PineClan forest scent. "Nothing. Sorry. I--I thought you were someone else for a heartbeat," she mewed, whipping around. That was a lie. She knew that Dusk was in PineClan. She followed Swallow to where the sound was coming from, and mewed quietly in response to the black-and-white cat's question. "Well...at first, I thought I'd give anything to be in the clans. All my life, I felt that way. Until recently," she mewed, her glittering gaze turning to Tarsen, who seemed to be oblivious and bored. "I realized that I could live out here, and like it," she waited patiently for the meanacing she-cat's response.

Tarsen suddenly straightened up, he had been looking for a scent, and had found one, not Dusk, not Swallow, and not Tizzy, but the scent could easily have been another cat nearby... "I think I might have her scent!" He burst out excitedly to Tizzy. "Can you scent another cat?"

Swallow instantly opened her mouth, sifting through the various city scents for that of the cat they spoke of. She thought she smelt something but it was unfamiliar to her, it would be if it was Felicia, she had never met the cat. "Great scenting!" she praised the tortoiseshell tom, indicating with her tail for him to go up front, "Why don't you lead the way? You must be anxious to find your sister."

Tizzy suddenly shot her head up, scenting for what Tarsen had described, and was delighted to scent it as well. Still, she scented PineClan, but pushed that out of her head, ignoring the sweet aroma of pine needles, and instead catching what Tarsen spoke of. "Yes! I scent it too, Tarsen, lead us to it!" she mewed in excitement. It was finally happening. They were going to find his sister! Excitement welled in her again, reminding her of the trip to the ocean, and she padded happily at Tarsen's side.
So the mouse-brain tourtoseshell wasn't totally useless, Dusk decided. She was nervous of all the scening, but no more was said about the PineClan smell. Surely, the smelled it. This filled her with both irritation at the passive Tizzy, as well as relief, which she did not like the feeling of, and so, pushed out of her mind. Scenting the air, she realized this Tarsen was right. What made him sure it was his long-lost sister, she didn't know, but if it was a distraction from herself, that was fine, and she gladly followed the other cats in pursuit of the scent.
