OHKEIS. This is a special activity check :3 Again, ALL members MUST reply. So, basically, you need to do a writing sample FROM SCRATCH, meaning no copy-paste of old stuff (I'm taking your word for this!) of 150 words. No big deal. If I feel that your sample was not adiquate, you are going to be FORCED to undergo private mentoring sessions with someone we'll appoint. (But don't worry, I'm sure all of you will do just fine! ^w^ We've got good writers here!)
You must do your sample from the point of view of one of your EXISTING charas. Any chara at all, as long as you've created it here on WoI and it's been accepted.
IF YOU DO NOT REPLY TO THIS ACTIVITY CHECK BEFORE FEB 14, YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE DELETED. IF YOU HAVE NOT CREATED YOUR FIRST CHARACTER AND IT HAS NOT BEEN ACCEPTED BY FEB 14, YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE DELETED. (there is an exception for Fishey because she's specified that she'll be gone for a while :3)
CHECKLIST: [x]sapphire [x]cinder [x]hexxi [x]folf [ ]wolf [x]shade [x]fishey [ ]poppy [x]silvertalon [x]firebird [x]ash [x]psyco [ ]sox [x]autumn [ ]falcon [ ]wheatfishes [ ]r.aven
Now...GO WRITE! (reply to this thread, there's a word count right under the "post message" buttton)

Woah, this is definitely a big Activity Check. o.o;; I'll reply right away, I don't want to get deleted out of laziness...Anyway, the sample:
---
It was cold, cold, cold. Veiledeye's was hugging the wall of the Warrior's Den, a cave-like indent in the rock face that was JaggedClan's camp. But back to business. The ashen-furred warrior had her fur fluffed as far it would go, so much so it was beginning to ache at the base of each hair to stand it up. Ugh. The she-cat shivered once more, and tried for the millionth and second time to add another coil to her curled up body. Her track record for the exercise gained another 'fail'.
Groaning, she finally succumbed to the icy touch of the air, and opened her odd, wide, pale green eyes. In a moment they were already stinging from the frigid wind creeping in from the outside.
"I hate Ice-Freeze, despise Ice-Freeze, want to kill Ice-Freeze...." she murmured under her breath over and over, a chant that was in a never ending loop. It had been a good day, even if a little cold. But a domaintable cold, one that was ignorable to the cats of the North. She had visited Silentsong and Nightshade's kits- a few were already stumbling around- before meeting up with Fernpaw. It had been nice to talk to the pale-coated tabby. Really nice. She sighed, but it was a happy one. The chant had broken from it's loop, and she was curling up more peacefully.
The wind hadn't stopped, but it seemed something she could block out, as her mind acted as if it were full of pine sap all of the sudden...Was her day that....YAAWWWNNNN...boring?
"Mhm..." It wasn't even a noise, more as a rumble in the back of her throat. Veiledeye's, young, quiet, somewhat lazy warrior JaggedClan finally drifted off to sleep; the freezing wind gently tickling her ears.

Thornpaw stepped out of the Apprentices' Den and into the fading sunlight. The gold rays made his pelt shine. He looked around and saw Skypaw return from a hunting patrol with Owltail and Minnowmew. He shivered slightly and then shook his pelt as if flicking of scraps of moss. The cold was definitely reaching the camp. Heathermouth had a runny nose and Hollyfoot's kits, Honeykit and Sedgekit had a slight fever. Thornpaw heard his name. He spun around and saw Bramblepaw bounding towards him, excitement in his green eyes. "Guess what!" meowed Bramblepaw when he reached Thornpaw. "What?" Thornpaw yawned sleepily. "We are going to the Gathering tomorrow!" yowled Bramblepaw, not able to contain his excitement any longer. Thornpaw purred with excitement. His first Gathering!
Thornpaw twitched his tail with impatience. What was taking Goldenstar so long to get ready? Finally the big cat strodded out of his den and leaped into the bushes, the cats he had chosen following. When they got to the Four Maples Thornpaw couldn't believe all the cats that were there. He and Bramblepaw stuck close together as they wandered through the big cats, gazing from one muscular warrior to the next. "They're all so big!" exclaimed Thornpaw excitedly to Bramblepaw. Just then, Willowstar raised her head and let out a yowl to silence all the cats. Everyone got quiet. The Gathering had begun!

Skypaw emerged from the apprentices' den, shaking the scraps of moss from her fur. Last night she had attended her first Gathering at FourMaples. She had stuck with Thornpaw and Bramblepaw the whole time. Skypaw glanced up at the clear blue sky, dotted with fluffy white clouds. The sun was almost in the middle of the sky. Her stomach growled. She hadn't eaten since before the Gathering, when she had come back from the hunting patrol she had been on. She padded over to the fresh-kill pile and chose a small thrush. She tore into it ravenously. Once she had finished it, she gave herself a quick wash. Then she decided to go and wake Bramblepaw for training. She heaved herself to her paws and trotted to the apprentices' den. Inside, it was warm and dark. "Time for training!" she exclaimed. Bramblepaw jumped up and they raced out of the camp toward the training hollow.

Wow, this is different! Anyway, this is Dawnkit, but I'm making her an apprentice for this sample. Also, Dreamfang is a made up, may be used character. ------------ A little orange and white tabby she-cat rolled out of the apprentices den. As the young cat sprang up onto her feet, her eyes blazing with determination, a large black and white tom padded over to her. "Dawnpaw! Training soon! I'll meet you by the camp entrance soon." The large, steadily built tom called briskly to his apprentice. "Yes, Dreamfang! I'll just get something to eat quick, okay?" Dawnpaw watched as her mentor threw a quick nod over his shoulder. The little she-kit gave a small squeal of happiness at the thought of one of the warm mice her father had just dragged into camp. Dawnpaw bounded over to Nightshade and crashed into his legs. "Good hunting this morning, huh Dad?" She greeted her dark-furred father. She had always been very close to her father. "Yeah, Dreamfang taking you out today?" Nightshade looked at his daughter closely. She had grown alot since her kithood and had been training very hard. "I still think that Dreamfang isn't the right mentor for you. He's way too strict." "So what? He's a great mentor and he says I'll make a great warrior one day." Dawnpaw objected and held her head high. "I'm not saying that you aren't going to be a great warrior. He's just too full of himself, that's all." ~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+ Dawnpaw flew at her mentor, her paws outstrethed. She landed squarely on Dreamfang's shoulders. "Good! I wouldn't want to meet you in battle, squirt!" Dreamfang purred. He had a soft spot for the little scrap and praised her often, even when she messed up. "Really?" Dawnpaw squeaked and looked up at her mentor once her paws were once again in the snow. "Really." Dreamfang purred and swept his tail over her ears.

Feathersky brimmed with happiness as she led her patrol along the JaggedClan territory. She had been chosen to lead a patrol! She brushed along the PineClan border, strengthing the scent markers as she went. They won't dare invade our territory! she thought, not while I'm on watch! She and her patrol moved farther along, sniffing bushes, and remarking scents. She heard a whisper of a meow from the other side of the border to PineClan. "Okay, let's go get them, while they're ungaurded!" "Oh no!" Feathersky muttered, "Duck into the bushes, now!" she hissed to the patrol. They instinctivly dashed into the bracken, and waited. The PineClan patrol moved into the JaggedClan territory, and Feathersky leaned over to the small apprentice next to her. "Run, run like you've never run before, and warn Wildstar!" the apprentice jolted up, and dashed towards the rocks. "Stop him!" the leader of the PineClan patrol had seen the apprentice. The two groups of cats met in a screeching ball of fur and claws. Tha battle had begun!

Ironpaw wriggled his rump slightly as he stretched his forepaws outwards, flexing his claws slightly, making long gashes in the soil. Emerald pools darted this way and that, scanning his surroundings. The small apprentice bounced to his feet, trotting happily towards the fresh-kill pile. Gentely, Ironpaw grasped a small thrush between his powerful jaws, carrying it carefully over to his mentor, Nightshade, nodding a curt 'hello' before settling down beside him. With a few ravenous and famished gulps, he'd finished the thrush. "Hey Nightshade! Think we could go out and practice some hunting today?" He queried, leaping up, his hunger had been quenched. Quickly, he sprang into a his best stealth position, trying to stay upwind of Nightshade, envisioning him as his prey. Suddenly, he leapt sharply at his mentor, batting at his ear playfully with sheathed mitts. Gentely, the small apprentice managed to climb on top of his mentor and shout; "The mighty warrior has killed his unsuspecting prey!"

o.o This is a big activity check....Anaways... -------- Lithe shapes melted through the bracken like a knife through butter, their pelts brushing the green fronds, licked with dew. The cat's paws made no sound on the forest floor, and all was silent. The darkness of the night let no beam of light show, encasing all in the empty blackness. An owl hooted softly from an above branch. "Stop!" hissed one of the cats. It was a large, dappled white tabby tom, with sharp golden eyes and pricked ears. It was clearly the leader of the patrol, at the front, with one paw raised off the ground. "Phoenixpaw, go back to see if we are being followed." he hissed over his shoulder, and a bright eyed ginger tabby apprentice pushed her nose through some ferns to look at her mentor. She nodded shortly, and whisked away back where they had come, her eyes searching above, below and in front. She had only gone a few fox-lengths before an unearthly screech shattered the silence. Phoenixpaw froze in her tracks. She knew it was wrong! Why did this patrol have to come to the Jagged-Snow strip in the first place? She skidded round, and raced back to where the patrol had last been. Angry cries of battle ripped through the clearing, and Phoenixpaw leaped into the fray, hardly noticing what they were fighting. "Hawkflight!" she screeched as a large black tom pinned her mentor to the ground. The white tabby tom struggled, but the black tom was larger. "Go, Phoenixpaw!" he cried, looking towards her. "Get back to the Clan!" Phoenixpaw shook her head, and without noticing what she was doing, she raced across the clearing, heading for the cat who was above Hawkflight. But before she reached him, another cat bowled into her. It was Heavyheart. He pushed Phoenixpaw back into the foliage. She bit and clawed him, but knew it was no use. "Why didn't you let me save him?" she snarled, biting into his shoulder. Heavyheart didn't reply, and looked into her eyes. His own were filled with sadness. "I'm sorry," he whispered, and everything went black.

Ooh... pretty different. XD -- Topazpaw trotted from the apprentice den, the light of day only just filling the camp. The sky was creamy, pastel. Filled with yellows, pinks and blues, white clouds scudding across as an icy chill blew across SandClan Territory, mingling with the long shadows of the boulders that were strewn across the sandy ground. The autumn-pelted apprentice turned her head as her fellow clanmates filed from the dens, spreading around. Thornfire twitched her tail to her, indicating that she should come on hunting patrol. Topazpaw bounded over to the group eagerly, her pawsteps lightly arousing the sand into little clouds that twisted around her heels. She padded proudly out of camp with the warriors, tail held high. They reached the sea, and by then, a cold sun was spreading it's white light across the sand, as the gusts of wing blew slightly stronger. Thornfire leapt, agile, onto one of the rocks that were set in the sea. He turned nimbly, so that his shadow didn't dance on the water. That's when the breeze, that was not a breeze at all, suddenly strengthened, and a wave loomed above Thornfire, who froze as the shadow hurtled over him. Another warrior sprung as Topazpaw stood frozen, eyes wide in fear for the warrior. But the flying clanmate hit Thornfire hit his target with such force, at such an angle, that they were thrown on the sand, ending in an unwelcome, but much better, fate of ending up with only a sharp layer of sea spray. Topazpaw twitched, Thornfire had been about to practically die, or be thrown into much deeper waters, or something... and she'd done absolutely nothing. The she-cat managed to shrug of the thought, though she knew she'd dwell on it again. Wordlessly, the patrol returned to camp, claws unsheathed as Thornfire occaisonally shivered in shock, that was why the were returning, Topazpaw realised, she had heard stories of severe shock, and how the cats who suffered it usually calmed after some herb or other. The apprentice slipped eagerly into camp, that wave had taught her one thing that she would probably never head... Don't go swimming when the winds are out!

The sparse forest of Pineclan seemed peaceful today. THe sun's feeble light poked through the trees, and though it didn't do much to warm the chilly air, it made the scene far less gloomy, making the ice shimmer and the trees glow. The only sound was the soothing rustle of pine needles in the gentle breeze; everything was quiet and still.
Then all at once the calm was broken by the thud of running paws, the crackling of pine needles underfoot, the rustle of branches being whipped out of the way, and, most of all, a triumphant yowl of exilheration.
The ginger blur raced through the forest at a ridiculous pace, enjoying the wind in her fur and a feeling quite like flying. Speedpaw had managed to slip out of camp to do what she loved; run, run, and run some more!
Running, she never had to think or worry about anything at all. She never had to obey any rules or follow any path. She never had to worry about mentors or enemies or anyone putting her down; it was just her and the forest. Running, she was free.

ooc:This is a sample of a rogue and her kit that I will make soon, so NO taking! _____
A light, sandy colored Tabby bundle was hanging from the jaws of a darker Tabby she-cat. Mews of annoyance came from the tiny bundle and soon stopped. "Milk, be quiet! We are not supposed to be here!" the larger cat murmured, licking the tiny kit. "But Momma!!!" The small kits stumbled as he tried to get to his paws, brown eyes gazing up at his 'mother', her name was Candy.
"Call me Candy." she mewed softly. "Why?" he queried. Looking up at the she-cat with a puzzling look in his eyes. Candy ignored his question, picking him up and twitching her ears as he let out a squeak. They were in a sandy territory, though, they didn't know that this place was called SandClan.
The truth was, Candy was Milk's 'foster' mother. Her sister had given birth to two kits in SnowClan. Her sister, named Rose, wanted to take only one of the kits, so Candy took Milk. They set off on their own, not knowing where they would end up. Candy already had a place picked out, but it had later been inhabited by bears. She decided she would travel to the waters edge, she had heard it was a beautiful place.
Shaking her head as she dropped the kit onto a mound of sand, she curled up beside him and licked him ruffly, getting the traces of dirt and sand out of his fur. Wrapping her tail around Milk, Candy sighed as he suckled for a few moments and fell asleep. She closed her eyes as well. She was safely hidden under the branch of a large tree, it looked like a Oak tree. but she didn't exactly know.

Whoa! I seem to have totally missed this thread somehow. o.O Sorry! But please don't delete my account...xD
-- Two piercing yellow eyes snapped open with an almost audible crack.
To many other cats, particularly a certain tom in SnowClan, the familiarness of that gaze would shocked them to the soul and reawakened an old fear in their hearts. But, as this cat stared at his reflection in the puddle of slow-melting snow beneath him, he took no real notice of his eyes. They were an intense yellow that appeared to drill holes right into your soul but they always had been. What was new there? And there were none of the aforementioned cats around to tell him of the chilling legacy of his eyes so he simply lowered his patched head to lap up some of the icy water. The tom, acting on a sudden whim, pushed his head into the puddle and then pulled it out with a mrrow of innocent laughter that one would never have heard come from the infamous owner of eyes identical to his. Likewise, no cat would have seen that she-cat do anything on a whim for her own amusement.
Sure this tom had his evil, tyrannical mother, Swallow's, eyes but no cat could deny that he had his own spirit. --
Any guesses as to the mysterious kitty? A bag of virtual cookies for the first person to get it right. ^.^
