Name: Russetcloud
Clan: JaggedClan
Gender: Tomcat
Status: Warrior
Appearance:
All muscle. He's a brute of a cat and cannot manage small spaces. He has thin fur which doesn't protect against cold- or water very well. His fur is a deep reddish orange with rusty coloured swirls. White markings cover his belly, his throat up to his chin, and some of his nose. He always looks rough and un-kept. His eyes are a striking clover green.Personality:
He is very old, and struggles to preform normal Warrior. Sometimes his pain gets so bad that he can barely move. The entire right side of his face is a mass of scar tissue with a few tufts of fur here and there. His eye is still good, but he has felt the loss of his formerly handsome face.
Not all that smart, he can carry a conversation and appear normal but he is really only muscle and accepts that.History:
Always stubborn he refuses to become an Elder because he is afraid of being useless. His stubbornness however, has always gotten him through in the end and allows him to be dependable in almost any situation that doesn't require strenuous thinking.
He suffered through his wanderlust period shortly after becoming a Warrior (the first time) but no longer has any problems with it.
He doesn't pick fights any more but was once well known for it. He still snaps at others sometimes but has lost his drive for the occasional scuffle between Clanmates. He is quite fine with fighting cats from other Clans, though, even though he knows he probably couldn't survive even minor injuries any more. He has an amazing talent for withstanding pain and has survived a few injuries that would have inflicted enough pain to do other cats in.
He holds a certain amount of guilt about his sons' fates and Swiftwinds death. These two factors have turned him to a shadow of his old self. He has a air of vague hopelessness about him and has lost his belief in StarClan after having lived too many moons and seen and experienced too many horrible things.
Russetcloud would have enjoyed seeing his sons so he could apologize to them for all the imaginary wrongs he has done them. However, he believes them dead due to the fact that they would be pretty old themselves. When he was younger he had always been afraid that they would turn out to be like Harefoot and return to their former Clan in a bid to seize control, as he did not know why they left in the first place.
Russetcloud was born into JaggedClan to a older Warrior, Flaxfoot, and a pretty young she-cat named Swanfeather. He had two siblings, a swift, lean, elegant tom, as white as his mother who was eventually named Harefoot and his more average sister, Pigeonwing who was grey and average and generally overshadowed by her severely contrasting siblings.Kin:
Russetcloud inherited his mothers striking clover coloured eyes and the bold red pelt of Flaxroot's father. He was large, brave, loyal and proud. The pride of Flaxroot's line, which was well known for producing bulky cats who didn't tend to live long but benefited the Clan greatly while they lived.
Harefoot inherited his fathers bright blue eyes and his mothers brilliant white coat. He was slim, elegant, charming and swift of foot. He was great at hunting and had a amazing, captivating voice. He was the pride of Swanfeather's side of the family.
Poor Pigeonwing was plain and grey and blended in with the rocks like the bird of her namesake. She was quiet and modest, but smart. She possessed great potential as a Medicine Cat but not even her family paid much attention to her.
His kit-hood was average with no disruptions overall. His mother was caring and kind, and Flaxroot was there to look macho and striking, and inspire him to push himself.
When the three siblings where Apprenticed the quietly festering rivalry between Russetcloud and Harefoot finally burst and added some extra pace to the whole Clan. They fought about everything and their sister shrunk quietly into the background. For a short time it seemed some of the Clan was divided on who would eventually prove they where better than the other.
Then there was a period of famine. It was horrible. A litter of kits died, as did an Apprentice who refused to eat so that others could have their share of food. Both Russetcloud and Flaxroot where starting to become gaunt from not feeding themselves properly while Swanfeather, Harefoot and Pigeonwing all ate as normal and appeared normal enough, Soon the three siblings where given their Warrior names and sat their Virgil of silence. Being near Harefoot all that time worked on Russetcloud's nerves and his self control eroded near the end, and by the time they could speak again he released his rage and insulted his brother until he was able to regain his good sense. He rushed off and avoided his brother for a good week or two.
Then the Clan decided they would go down to steal one of the mountain goat kits. Flaxroot was able to get both of his sons on the party and they travelled down to steal one of the kits while they where still small enough to get away. They barley managed, but succeeded in the end. There was one casualty and it was Flaxroot who died valiantly to save the rest.
This seemed to break both of the brothers and they went at each other with a effort their conflict had not known before. Then, one day Russetcloud just disappeared. The Clan was wild with rumours: Harefoot had pushed him off a cliff. He had went back to kill the mountain goat that took his fathers life. Whether it lived, or he took it down with him varied upon the cat telling the tale.
In reality Russetcloud had planned to become a rouge, but while near SandClan territory he met a she-cat named Swiftwind and they became infatuated with each other. He lurked around for some time, but when he discovered that Swiftwind was pregnant he returned to JaggedClan and lied. He said he had slipped and fell off of one of the lower rocks and lost him memory after the fall. He claimed his memory only returned when a SandClan cat attacked him. No one had a reason for him not to believe him so he was welcomed back.
He was shocked to find that Harefoot and Pigeonwing had both tried to seize the Clan, and died because of it. After some time he learned of his two sons, one of which was extremely undersized due to their lack of fur and frequent sicknesses. He heard the whisperings of the two Apprentices disappearing into the night. Soon after Swiftwind died from a fall off the rocks while being pursued by a JaggedClan patrol.
Heatbroken and guilty for both of these things he lived the rest of his years as a overall gloomy, ruined individual, seeming only to get fun out of battle.
