"Bold and striking Arriving from beyond the sand Bringing with it death A new permanent threat Look for it in the water" she repeated, looking up at Needlegaze. What did it mean?

Adderpaw's ear flicked up as he heard a desperate scrabbling from the warrior's den. He followed Needlegaze over, eyes widening as he recognised his mentor, looking extremely worried. She said something strange, something he didn't understand, and his alarm increased. "Hummingsky? Are you okay?" He called into the warrior den, wondering if he should actually enter or not.

She looked up at Adderpaw and Needlegaze. "A dream..." she started, shaking her head. "A prophecy..." She couldn't explain it in the state she was in, but StarClan had sent her, just a warrior, a prophecy. A dream, a connection with StarClan...

Needlegaze had a hard time beleiving Hummingsky. An extraordinary dream, maybe, but a prophecy to a normal warrior? That was simply beyond belief. He shook his head, eyes hard. "I doubt it was a message from StarClan," he mewed dryly. That was something that leaders and medicine cats were given the privledge of experiencing, and if any warrior should be getting dreams from StarClan, it was him, not some inexperienced clan cat.
[[ooc;;don't worry, it's NEEDLEGAZE who's the arrogant, self-centered idiot, not me xD just staying in character here]]

Adderpaw looked up sharply at Needlegaze as he dismissed his mentor's words. How would that stupid furball know if it was a dream from StarClan or not? He wasn't a medicine cat. But it was wierd that a warrior would get a dream like that, especially a prophecy. Maybe it had just been a very vivid dream? No, I trust Hummingsky's judgement. He lifted his head to look back at his mentor and meowed, "I believe you." His thoughts flew back to his sister, still with the ill cats. Her mentor might be able to help find the meaning of the dream, whatever it was. Adderpaw squished a flicker of jealosy gnawing at his stomache, he would have very much liked to recieve such a dream from StarClan. Why had they chosen Hummingsky?

Needlegaze glared at the apprentice, surpressing a hiss as he whipped around, padding out of the den, muttering, "Stupid furballs..." under his breath. Back out in the camp, the air was still heavy with the scent of blood. He had forgotten about it, and though it wasn't as strong as it had been, the stench was still enough to make his stomach turn. He lanced across the clearing to where Dustwater was sleeping, watching her pelt rise up and down. Calm. She would never have such a ridiculous dream, he knew that much, and allwed himself to let out a barely audable, low purr.
Dustwater slept restlessly, padding through dreams of her own mind's doing. She knew she was supposed to be going somewhere. Something had put her off, and she felt the coarse fur of a bear against her damp, pink nose. She dreamt of the blow it gave her, throwing her to the ground, but this time, she kept falling and falling, until she landed hard where she needed to go. The no-lands. Except once she go there, she coudn't move. The dream was confusing and eerie, but she showed no sign of it in her peaceful sleep, even breathing, unmoving limbs tucked neatly under her body. Her eyes cracked open. Her head hurt a little bit, and her blurred vision focused. She stood up, unsteadily. She had to go to the no-lands. The others knew of her 'in-territory day long hunting trips,' as she called them, and left quickly, slipping between the trees and darting through the forest. [[Taking Dustwater to the territory board, if anyone needs her]]

Hummingsky glared at Needlegaze, and slowly stood up. Why shouldn't he believe her? If this was a message from StarClan, the Clan should know. She had to tell EbonyStar! He would know! He got dreams from StarClan, right? "Thank you, Adderpaw," she meowed, thankful that at least on cat believed her.

Sunpaw gazed around through half-closed brown lids, the blood had stopped pumping from her wound completely, and the pain had been destroyed by the herbs, though it would probably come back. Remembering the savageness(Is that a word?) of the bear's claws as they dug into her, Sunpaw knew the wound would be visible even when it had healed.

Needlegaze gazed restlessly at the sky above. It was darkening, and the full moon was just visible behind the heavy, dark clouds. Where was Ebonystar? And had Dustwater gone on another hunting trip?! Why would she do such a thing after being knocked nearly unconcious by a bear and on the night of the gathering? He pushed the thought of Dustwater out of his head as he looked around for Ebonystar, calm inside, and outside, burning with anxiety at the prospect of the gathering and when they would be leaving.

Realizing suddenly that Ebonystar must have left for the gathering already, Needlegaze straightened up. "Come on, mousebrains, we need to go to the gathering!" He yowled, before padding quickly up to Sunpaw and Skypaw. "You two should probably stay here," he mewed irritably. Some cat had to watch Sunpaw, and there was no way she could make it to the gathering in this condition. He then darted out of camp, heading to the knotted tree.

"But I wanted to meet Ribbondance..." Skypaw trailed off miserably, realising not only that Needlegaze would not care but that it was her duty to remain behind with the sick cats. She sighed slightly, wishing she could ocme but knowing her own private wishes did not affect the responsibility of a medicine cat. Besides, there would be other Gatherings.
Adderpaw bounded up to Needlegaze, catching him just as he left camp, "I'm coming too." He told him, not bothering to actually ask. After all, Needlegaze was hardly leader. It wasn't up to him. He felt sorry for Skypaw but was more excited by the prospect of himself attending the Gathering. Adderpaw also hoped Hummingsky was coming, she might need to tell her prophecy again.

Padding wearily into camp, Adderpaw stiflyed a yawn. Suddenly the day's events were catching up to him, making his very bones ache with tiredness. "What was it like? Did anything happen?" Asked Skypaw anxiously, bounding up to her brother. Adderpaw blinked the fatigue from his eyes, knowing it was important to relay the events of the Gathering to his sister before he went to sleep. "There was this prophecy. A cat from each Clan got it. It said... bold and striking and then something about coming from over by SandClan." This reminded the apprentice of another thing, or cat, so he carried on, ignoring the shock on his sister's face. "Oh, and I met a SandClan apprentice named Seapaw." "A prophecy? From StarClan? What were the exact words?" Skypaw meowed feverently, wishing that she'd been able to attend herself, "Tell me, Adderpaw, this is important!" "You'll have to ask Hummingsky. She's the one who got it. I can't remeber the rest anywa- " The rest of her brother's words were drowned out by a huge yawn and she sighed slightly as he turned around and padded off to his den, flicking his tail in farewell. He could be so selfish sometimes. Still, a real prophecy from StarClan! She'd never recieved one herself. Hummingsky was sooooo lucky!

Ebonystar into the camp, leading a trail of cats behind. Walking past Adderpaw, the leader turned to Skypaw. "How is the apprentice doing?" Waiting quietly, Ebonystar watched as the rest of the cats trickled into the gathering. Yes, those dreams were most likely a stupid coincidence. But even so, he'd have to question Hummingsky later.

Skypaw looked up, startled at her leader's sudden presence. She had been so absorbed by thoughts of the prophecy that she hadn't even heard him walk up to her. "She should be fine. She just needs to stay here a few more nights to let her wounds heal." She meowed quietly and confidently to Ebonystar.

Needlegaze glided into camp, angry frustrated because of the gathering's events, and angry that there was still no sign of Dustwater. How she could bear to leave during the gathering was beyond him, but she had, and who was he to question that? He was feeling rather rebellious and agitated, so as he walked past Skypaw and heard her say something about Seapaw, he mewed loudly, "Well, at least she didn't let the furball die. I was sure she would, at first, all the blood was sickening, and she wasn't doing a damn thing for the longest time." He then blundered his way across camp, padding over sleepily to the warriors den, a foul mood swarming inside his chest.
