Bone rolled his eyes, such a warm welcoming... Lummi was off eating some garbage, Haunt was chasing a dumb cat, and that other dog...was just standing there, growling at Lummi as if he were leader. Pshaw. Him; leader. Bone wanted to start laughing, until another cat came into the picture. Glaring, Bone let out a snarl.
"Yes we can hear you!" he barked loudly and stepped forward. He hated cats! He hated them so much! But, he didn't just give chase, like Haunt did. Pulling his top lip in a snarl, showing yellow stained teeth and barked again, snarling and growling. Crouching slightly, tail between his legs, eyes locked on target. It look as if he were about to pounce, but no, why not surprise her? Grinning evil-y he barked once more.
"What do you want?"

Þ-- Fall breathes his chilling breath... Haunt's rotting lemon normalcy was floating back, piece by piece. His dark eyes were still glowing with the pure joy and freedom of the chase, blood lust still glittering in the corners. Now his muzzle remained open, tongue lolling out and in rhythmically with his breaths, panting in order to cool his shepherd frame down. The mutt was still quite a bit from home base, maybe a block or two in human measurements, when two things hit his senses like a battering ram.
First, cat scent.
This caused quite the spastic, but athletic, reaction. Rearing up slightly, Haunt whirled on one paw to find the cat. Slobber was edging the sides of his bottom jaw, almost foaming over. it was too easy! The cat was standing on it's tiptoes, watching him.
Second, voice.
"You there, dog! Can you hear me?"
He had already charged two strides forward, almost bringing himself upon the stationary piece of prey. But the fact was that the cat appeared completely...calm. That troubled him enough to stop his attack, planting his pads and permanent claws against the cement pavement. She, he could scent that as well, had spoken to him with...authority?
That got his shoulder fur raised, spreading down his spine, spiking into a single, aggressive message. the dog would have gone one pawstep further if a certain mutt hadn't butt in at the moment.
"Yes we can hear you! What do you want!"
Haunt whipped around, cocked ears flapping on to his head before sliding off. The patched shepherd saw his brother, Bone, set in a hunting crouch, but oddly had his tail between his legs.
"Lift your tail up a bit, at least, you sniveling wimp!" The brother barked, upper lip curling to reveal froth-soaked, yellowing fangs. The expression was carried on when he turned back to Swallow, who hadn't changed position.
"As my brother so bluntly mentioned, we can hear you, scrap. I suggest you speak quickly, or they'll be your last words!" The growl was low and deep in Haunt's throat, but every word came loud and clear. Crouching low in the same position as his brother, but tail raised high like a banner, the mutt waited less then patiently for the odd cat to speak. Or he would tear that muzzle right off.--reminding Earth of times to come...

iRaven Wait a second.. Now the dogs had their attention on another cat, who was confronting them. Birch grinned evily to herself. Most cats would have fled, but not Birch. She strolled over to the dogs and the cat. 'You couldn't catch me, dogbreath.' Birch hissed. 'What makes you think you can catch her?' Her green eyes glittered in a challenge.
'Anyway. Cats can run faster than dogs. Its a fact.' She sat down calmly, all fear of the dogs forgotten, her slightly bushy tail curled around her front paws. The tip swayed gently. Even though she looked relaxed, the golden she-cat's muscles were tensed, ready and alert incase the dogs decided to leap at the two cats. The new official Raven Music player!!

l ll Swallow's only move was to wrinkle her nose a bit as the dog's repulsive stench washed over her. It was a shame her best chance of winning had to stink so badly. She calmly sat down and drew a paw over her face, simultaneously appearing calm and washing any fear-scent away. Her heart was beating very fast with instinctual fear that no cat could escape but Swallow didn't need to escape it, and she didn't want others to either. She just needed to control it for long enough to speak sense. The queen had opened her mouth to speak when the aforementioned 'gold blur' walked down and sat next to her. Swallow rolled her eyes at the she-cat's little speech and lashed her tail slightly in annoyance. She did not want the dogs getting annoyed. That would end only with herself and the gold cat being torn into shreds. Normally, Swallow would have invited such a cat to join TalonClan but she would rather have four dogs than one measly cat any day. The tuxedo she-cat's mind flicked into action, coming up with an idea almost immediately.
"You really are a mouse-brain, aren't you?" She meowed scornfully to the other cat, turning her head away as if she didn't want to even look at her, "Don't you know how strong these dogs are? They could probably tear our heads off with one paw if they wanted to. After all, they are incredibly powerful."
In Swallow's experience, flattery got you everywhere. If they decided to tear the gold cat's head off then that was a sacrifice she was more than willing to make for four dogs in TalonClan.

iRaven Birch narrowed her eyes. 'I'm not a mousebrain, i'm using common sense. We might aswell enjoy tormenting the beasts now. We can outrun them anyway, and even if we did try to talk it out,' She smirked a little when she said 'talk'. 'They'll rip our heads off anyway.' She finished. 'After all, they'll do anything for a bit of cat. The vile beasts.' Birch growled, at the dogs. 'But if they do try to snap our heads off,' She kept her voice low so only the other cat could hear, 'Go up that tree.' She flicked a golden tail at the tree she had fled up earlier. 'I've outrun them once. Surely you can do it, too?' The new official Raven Music player!!

l ll Swallow didn't take her eyes off the dogs as she replied to the irritating golden she-cat. "Yes, thanks. I'm fully capable of escaping these dogs but I'm trying to communicate with them presently and I'd thank you to keep your maw shut." The tuxedo cat meowed softly, tail flickering with annoyance. "Say, how do you feel about Clans?" Swallow realised she may as well try to recruit this cat too - she was brave, if nothing else. And Swallow never had been one to miss an opportunity when it presented itself so nicely. Perhaps she had been a little too hasty in sacrificing this cat. Four dogs were better than one cat but four dogs and a cat were even better. "I lead a Clan and we could do with a courageous she-cat like yourself. Other savage cats are threatening us and we need all the paws we can get...thus, the dogs." The queen added, still in hushed tones. She wouldn't forget that they were in the presence of creatures who would eat them as soon as look at them.

Þ-- Fall breathes his chilling breath... Haunt's tongue was lolling out again- he had just ran a few blocks (in a fur coat)- muzzle already gaping when a certain familiar scent teased under his nose. The dog snapped his jaws shut, ears perking again as his attention was drawn away from the tuxedo cat-prey at his paws. What was it...the mutt couldn't put his paw on it. And then the golden blur-cat-prey entered the scene. Immediately the dog's muscles tensed, eyes lighting up in an uncontrolled show of pure eagerness. The damn cat wouldn't get away...cats!
Haughty words from Birch escaping his notice, undoubtedly for the better, Haunt glanced over to the other she-cat. Who was responding to Gold Cat-Prey, mind already drifting to...dog issues, the shepherd was struck back into attention by the word 'dog' and 'incredibly powerful'. And a small look sent to him. They were talking to him! The shepherd started the wheezing laughter again, the action allowing his yellowed fangs to be revealed. The entire image could inspire visions of a killer clown. A patched, ragged, canine killer clown.
Swallow's assumption of flattery getting somewhere with any being, Haunt allowed himself to relax...just a bit. Because now, after his brief burst of "joy", the Cat-Preys were talking in hushed meows, now completely ignoring him. A growl was set and ready to explode, with nails scraping threateningly against the pavement, when he got a question.
"Say, how do you feel about Clans?"
The mutt cocked his head, almost appearing...adorable. In a murderous, rabid-flavored kind of way. Eh? Haunt had no idea what a 'Clan' was. Blame it on a small brain or a small range of experiences...the dog was clueless.
"I can't feel something I don't know about, Cat-Prey. Explain it to me, wouldn't you?" The patched shepherd failed in a crooning voice, or even sickeningly sweet. No attempt could hide the layering and hints of aggression and restraint to not "be a vile beast and chomp heads off". Plus, gruesome smile number two didn't help the mix. Did we mention the lack of charisma before?--reminding Earth of times to come...

iRaven Birch bared her teeth as the dog spoke again. Looking into its big brown eyes, she saw hatrid and eagerness - eagerness maybe to snap their heads off. The next question took her by suprise.
'Say, how do you feel about the clans?'
Birch thought this question over in her mind. The clans she despised with all of her might. She had every reason to dislike them. They had driven her out of her home she had llived in for moons and moons once, and she had never forgiven them. 'I hate them.' She spoke. 'But it your clan is not like the others, I will consider joining.' Her voice was hushed.

l ll "Good. But we'll have to finish this conversation later or we'll not have the breath to do so." Swallow returned darkly, switching her full attention back to the dogs. The dogs who were slavering around, looking more than happy to murder them instantly. The expression on the purpley one was enough to turn Swallow's stomach. They were vile beasts. The scum of the earth, in fact. But she needed them. She needed to focus and more than ever she needed to speak. That was quite possibly the only thing keeping her alive. "Clans are groups of cats - many, many cats. Brown cats, grey cats, white cats, black cats, big cats, small cats, stupid cats, smart cats, pretty cats and ugly cats and everything in between. All the kinds of cat you could imagine. All there, just hanging around." Swallow let the words roll off her tongue, pausing in all the right places and speaking relatively slowly to be sure that they would understand. "The Clans could entertain you and feed you for the rest of your lives. It's such a shame you don't know where they are..."
If she could get their blood lust coming on (but not too strongly, obviously) then she could give them a reason to join TalonClan. A reason that suited both parties.

iRaven Birch flicked her tail and waited for the dogs reply. She had made her descision. She would join this TalonClan, even though she had found out so long ago that she did not need a clan to take care of her. That was quite an accurate explanation, Birch thought, after the other cat had made her little speech to the dogs.
She didn't even know her name. She would ask her later, when they had finished confronting the dogs. They seemed quite settled, though Birch couldn't tell by just looking at them. She wondered if they would run at the two cats and rip their throaghts out, or consider the other cat's offer. Anyhow, Birch unsheathed her claws, just incase, preparing them to sink into that dogs muzzle that had first chased her.

Þ-- Fall breathes his chilling breath... If the frantic listing of every sort of cat was a procrastination and or distraction device...it went over brilliantly. Haunt clamped his muzzle shut, ragged teeth clicking together, and watched Swallow name a variety of fo-- felines. Small mind revealing it's weaknesses in one hand, the mutt remained frozen on the pavement, waiting with odd patience as the darker Cat-Prey finished.
"The Clans entertain you and feed you..."
Haunt's shaded brown eyes widened in an uncommon show of, to be blunt, wonder. Sure, the entertaining bit of it had cocked his ears their direction. Who knows how much the pack could use! The shepherd would think later on, a grunt emphasising it in the present....but food! Food, food, food...and they would just have to shake a paw!
The mutt's muzzle was hanging loose once more, a steady drip of saliva splatting against the pavement. Mind still rolling that deal-making word over and over in his skull, Haunt's decision was clear to see. Even without the loud barking to ensue.
"Food, eh," He barked, dark brown eyes shining with a more pleasant emotion then blood lust. "I think that win the Pack over. Not like I can talk for myself, through." The sentence ended in a disrespectful snort, before the patched shepherd swiveled on his paws to face the direction to Base.
"Come on, follow!" Haunt growled, before setting off at a steady lope, calm exterior hiding the turbulent one inside.
Food food food! Polar's gonna let us go, let us go...food food food!--reminding Earth of times to come...

l ll Two large, black-backed ears pricked at the strange feline tone behind him. But it wasn't so much the fact that Haunt hadn't ripped the two cats to pieces (although that was pretty unusual too), it was more the description of these 'Clans' that she was giving. Somewhere in the back of his mind, a little brass bell was ringing. Living wild, unlike his current pack mates, Polar remembered hearing something about groups of cats who lived and fought together. However, seeing as his pack had wandered about a lot and had plenty of other prey to chase after, they'd never actually encountered these cats. The felines seemed oddly elusive, considering there were so many of them. That might end today though. This dark cat was offering to lead them to a place where they could feast until and beyond they were stuffed. Somehow, the array of rubbish spilled before his paws didn't seem so interesting now.
Tongue lolling out and eyes bright, the husky shouldered his way past his pack mates to tower over the black and white Cat-Prey, causing her ebony fur to instinctively bristle as she automatically backed up a pace or two. "The pack will come. Take us there now, Cat-Prey!"
Swallow hissed. The big ugly brute was far closer than she'd like him to be and, although he seemed to be high in the pecking order, she had no intentions of betraying all of her kind so simply. However, defying these dogs was much easier thought than said. Would they just rip her head off? Probably. Would she stand a chance against the Clans without them? Probably not. "No."
A low, threatening growl rumbled out of Polar's throat and he bared his teeth, lowering his head a bit closer to that of the insolent she-cat. How dare she defy him? He was bigger, smarter, faster, stronger and better than her. He was a dog and she was a cat! Or at least, she was for now. Soon her body wouldn't resemble a cat...it would look something more like roadkill. His murderous thoughts were interrupted by that same, sly voice a moment later, saving her own life.
"Or at least, not just like that. If you kill me, you'll never find them, but you can't expect me to hand them over just like that. I require something in return." Swallow meowed into the fearful face of the husky, wishing her sense of smell wasn't quite so keen. "I don't speak cat so hurry up and tell me what you want if you want to live." he barked in return, still looking on thresh hold of clawing her to pieces. "Your pack will have to fight for me." Swallow demanded bluntly, "One battle, against the cats you would have fought anyway."
Polar's mind was ticking. He was at loathe to take orders from anything else, let alone a cat, but he didn't see much of a choice. If he refused then they wouldn't get the food, and that would be failing his primary goal in life. Also, the others would not be happy and might dessert him. A thought entered the dog's head then, about something Swallow had missed. Once this battle was over, what was to stop him just killing her anyway? Nothing. Nothing at all. It was decided. "Fine. Lead the way now, Cat-Prey. Quickly or your tail goes."
It was a good thing that the dogs were focused so fully on the prospect of food now, or they may have noticed the gleam of evil satisfaction that entered Swallow's eagle-like eyes. First the Tribe cats, now the dogs. It seemed she was on top of the world. Everything would fall to TalonClan, and that meant everything would fall to her. She flicked her tail for them to follow and paraded proudly down the streets. A cat, leading dogs! Only Swallow.
[[To the no-lands then?]]

Haunt, as he trekked by to camp with the Cat-Preys felt in tow, felt on top of the world. Or on top of a mound of garbage. Both were quite the pedestal of majesty to the mutt. He, almost single-handily, was leading his pack to a future! Where food was given at a wave of a paw, no, a twitch of the ear! So, this cat had offered it, but he had done everything. By not killing the tuxedo feline where she stood, the shepherd had assured this future. What use would a pile of bloody fur be? Nothing, that's what.
So, Haunt allowed a peeved snarl to rip through his muzzle when Polar shoved him away, and took the situation in his own fangs. And the worse thing was, the mutt couldn't just maul his alpha. So the shepherd was left to stand, spotted fur bristling along the spine, the worst show of aggression he could let loose. Besides the ear-splitting howl of his nails scraping against the cement.
Through...it picked up when he realized the cat was bowing low to Polar. Despite the fact he knew what a great disrespect this was, the mutt could barely restrain his awful, wheezing laughter. Despite the strong stance and unwavering, amber gaze, Haunt could detect the slightest aroma of fear scent. Perfume to the nose. The dog was crouching low, ready to spring at the piece of fur, when...
"Your pack will have to fight for me."
He froze in place. One second, two...a tongue lolled out. Haunt couldn't believe his ears. They got to fight. As a condition! Immediately his coat relaxed, and the mutt nearly hopped to his paws, nails clicking against the pavement. He would intervene if Polar did not accept this "deal". Who needed entertainment, when you could rip out the throats, chew off the legs of cats? He was panting now, blood shed glimmering in his dark eyes.
The dog was still in a blissful trance as the deal was made, and paws were carried off to the forest.
ooc; Yeah! { Haunt to No-Lands! }
