Long ago, four wandering Clans of cats came to a group of woods on a vast plain. The forests were filled with prey and herbs, and it seemed that the Clans had found an ideal place to live.
But the cats' hearts grew dark, and they began to quarrel over which Clan would have the most prey-rich territory. What started as a dispute became a war, and countless lives were lost.
On one night, as all four Clans met to do battle, they were surprised to see a line of starry cats descending from the sky. This was StarClan. They spoke harshly to the cats, telling them that no stretch of land was worth the price that had been paid in blood and tears.
They set down a code of laws, which they called the Warrior Code, that every cat must live by. The told the cats that each Clan would be allowed to occupy one forest, and must take the name of the forest as their own, to remind them of the boundaries of their territory.
Thus began AshClan, OakClan, BirchClan, and HollyClan.
Now this is but a story, passed down from elders to kits. The Clans have lived in peace for countless seasons, but a new threat is rising. A horde of bloodthirsty foxes has invaded the forests, hungering for the Clan's prey. Already AshClan and BirchClan have faced the terrible strength of the foxes and barely survived. Now the Clans must unite, or die...
