Adderpaw smirked mentally, but carefully kept his face blank as he listened absently to the Gathering news. Silently, the tom lifted up his tail and smacked Seapaw on the back with it. The impact was not hard enough to actually hurt, but not exactly soft either. "It's funny, I can't seem to remember." He murmered to her without looking at the she-cat. Amusement, along with a twinkle of triumph, flashed in his deep green eyes. He had got his own back, and it had only taken him a moon.

Moonstar idly flicked her tail after Wildstar made her report. She could sense the leader was holding something back, but did not pursue the matter. She glanced down at the clearing. Talking had began to raise again, and she realised the Gathering was over. Her heart lifted as she knew she would soon be back with her kits. "SnowClan," she called out across the hollow, leaping gracefully down from her branch. She nodded to Wavestar and Wildstar, then trotted into the center of the clearing. The wind had begun to pick up, and the cold breeze whipped through the open hollow. Moonstar was quite warm in her thick silver coat, but she could see a few other cats shivering.
Heavyheart looked up. He heard Moonstar's call, and meowed a quiet goodbye to Silentwing. He gestured with his ears to Moonstar to Phoenixpaw, who also had heard the call. They padded side by side to their silver leader. Phoenixpaw reflected how much the gray warrior resembled Hawkflight, with his dark, long pelt.

"Really?" she mewed dryly, a joking spark in her eye, "I suddenly seem to have a hint of memory about the situation...but I'm not too sure..." Glancing over at Adderpaw, Seapaw noticed a glimmer of amusement in his eyes, and held her head high in triumph. He was happy! She knew it was possible!
Looking up suddenly, she realized that the gathering was over. Moonstar had leaped down from her branch and was calling the clan together. Had this gathering seemed somehow shorter than the last? Seapaw found herself giving Adderpaw a sad glance. It felt like the two PineClan cats had only arrived moments ago! Now, she probably wouldn't see him for another moon. At least she'd see Skypaw, she remembered, and turned to the fellow medicine cat apprentice.
"I'll see you at the half-moon, yes?" she mewed, eyes shining.

Oakwood kept his eyes on the leaders, but nodded as Jaycall spoke to show he was listening. His head motions stop when she hit the word. "But...now it's only me and Runningspirit..." He glanced at her sympathetically, "I'm sorry," he mewed, giving her paw a sympathetic flick of his tail. He knew how it was to loose a family member, and he pushed the memory of Rabbitear out of his mind for what seemed like the millionth time that day as his body began to ache.
Moonstar leaped down from the branch, and Oakwood stood up stiffly. Giving his fur a quick lick, and shivering a bit in the cold, he mewed, "Well, it was nice to meet you Jaycall. Until the next gathering, yes?" with a dip of his head, he padded over to the area he knew so well, where JaggedClan always assembled to return back to camp.

Wildstar felt relief in a spasm as the gathering ended. Heaving a sigh, she leaped from the branch in what she was sure was a less-than graceful way and ambled over to the meeting spot where Oakwood was already waiting, and dipped her head in a friendly manner to the elder, though her eyes were wary.
"All JaggedClan, assemble here!" she yowled through yellowed jaws, and stood still as the air around her as her clan assembled, before turning and padding out of the clearing back toward the cliff face, motioning her tail for her clan to follow.

Needlegaze stood up, glad that the gathering was over. He was anxious to get back to camp. What if they had been attacked? What if something had happened to Dustwater or Agamakit? He showed no emotion though, as he padded across the clearing, darting into the trees to return to PineClan camp.

Raindance cast a last sweeping gaze around the clearing. The clan seemed to be in order, she noted with satisfaction, before racing over to the SnowClan patrol and falling alongside Moonstar as they made their way back to camp, padding up the mountainface in satisfied silence. The gathering had gone well, she thought. No bad news. Nothing groundbreaking. When was the last time a gathering had been this quiet? Too quiet, she thought.

As Moonstar made her way up the slope and through the foliage, she took once last glance back at the hollow. For one fleeting moment she thought she saw a shadow of another cat, watching her from the shadows. It was a tiny, white kit. Moonstar was about to go back down the slope to see what the kit was doing there, when she blinked nervously. The kit was gone. Turning back up the slope, she fell into step with Raindance. She thouhgt all the cats at the Gathering had been quiet, and not all that had wanted to be said had been said. Sighing, she hoped the next Gathering would be more preductive.

If cats could grin, Adderpaw grinned but suddenly the Gathering was over adn Seapaw was leaving. He hadn't even got to thump her again. However, the tang of disapointment he felt was a little too strong to be just that and he realised, with something close to a shudder, that he had become far too friendly with SandClan's medicine cat. Deciding that would be stopping tonight, he nodded curtly to her in farewell and waited stone-like for his sister to come.
~
"Yeah! See you then." Skypaw meowed back enthusiastically, already anticipating the event. She could tell that her brother was itchign to go though, and felt a prickle of annoyance. Why couldn't he be civil? Still, they had to leave some time. "Bye then, Seapaw." Blinked Skypaw, turning and following her brother, unaware of the strange sense of dissapointment that was churning in his belly.
~
Stormcloud stifled his yawn and hastened to Wildstar's side. That Gathering had been quiet and boring. Perhaps all the cats had been too shocked about the sea cats to be talkative. At least he could get back to camp, and the cats in it, now.
~
Ghoststorm blinked slowly, storign all the new information in his mind, before padding softly over to the patrol where Moonstar and Raindance had everyone gathered. It suddenly struck him how weary they all looked. He would be going hunting tonight. The silver tabby had spent far too much time being sick lately, and it was time to make up for lost oppurtunities to hunt.

Jaycall gave a "thank-you" smile as Oakwood gave his condolences for her sibling losses. She turned her slim head to look up at the Leaders, only to see them jumping to the hard ground below. The Gathering was over already? "Awh..." she meowed allowed, blank face taking on the mask of disappointment. She turned to look at Oakwood, but to see him getting to his paws, and heading towards the flow of the Clan. "Well, it was nice to meet you Jaycall. Until the next gathering, yes?" She blinked a few times, her blue-grey fur blending with green-colored eyes as she did, before responding. "Huh, oh yes," she meowed, spirits rising, as she padded towards her own exiting Clan. "If I stay out of trouble, that is!" she added as her slow pace turned to a bounding step so she could catch up with clanmates. Well, it had been a good, if short, Gathering...

Bluestar
Wavestar dipped her head, sleekly slipping off the gnarled branch, of the old knotted tree, it's firm scent bringing back memories from moons and moons ago, when cats who were now shimmering in StarClan like angels had once come, excited, as enthusiastic apprentices.
Wavestar twitched her ears, then began to move back to SandClan territory, the cool breeze ruffling her fur as if the amber tinged silver coat was of feathers. Hearing the stealthy prowl of the SandClan cats, thei pace in time with hers, she sped up slightly into a brisk stride, then, finally, the whole clan was running like one great tide back to camp.
[[Wavestar to SandClan camp.]]
Ashpaw turned to his leader and raced after her and the rest of JaggedClan, his flank blowing about freely like the charred remains of some long ago fire, the dappled black dots flowing across his pelt while his stormy grey eyes shivered in a way like the tremble of water.
[[Ashpaw to JaggedClan camp.]]
With this life I give you nobility and certainty and faith. Use it well as you lead your clan in the ways of StarClan and the warrior code.
