"But then..." Tarsen trailed off, not a fragment of a flicker of doubt in his eye's. "Dusk must be betraying PineClan! I doubt her name is Dusk, considering if she's a warrior! Why else would she be lying about her name?"

"Yes," Tizzy nodded in grave agreement at her mate's words, "But why? Why would she do that? Does she have a motive?" They were walking at a steady pace through the chilled forest, the smell of pines all around them. "I just don't see why she would do such a thing!" shakig her head as the two cats ambled through the forest, she wondered what Tarsen had to say about the situation. Glancing up at the tortoiseshell tom, she wondered if he had any ideas about the mysterious murky-furred cat.

Tarsen shook his head. "She's gathering many cats, but she needs territory." He glanced at Tizzy. "Maybe she intends to fight for it...?"

Tizzy shuddered at the prospect of Tarsen's words. "If that's the case, I'm glad we didn't join them, and ecstatic that we're leaving this place!" she mewed, surpressing a shudder of fear. Somehow, Swallow seemed dangerous, scheming, and secritive. Glancing up at the sky, her eyes widened in surprise at the sinking sun. She hadn't noticed the day growing darker, but sure enough, it was almost over. At least they would be on SandClan territory when no other cats were likely to be up. If she concentrated hard, she could almost smell the tang of salty sea, and hear the crash of waves on the SandClan shore. They must be getting close.

Tarsen nodded. "Can you believe." He mewed, shivering in excitement. "That we'll be away tommorrow? To ride the sea, through storm and stars and sun." He sighed joyfully. [[LOL. I magine if they found OS's conch shell to the tribe of endless swimming, they won't, but hey. ^^]]

Tizzy purred at Tarsen's reassuring words, and she swelled with excitement at anticipation and lots of different emotions all tangled together. Giving him an affectionate lick between the ears, she continued walking, closer to him now, the icy wind rustling her fur as frozen dirt turned to sharp, icy sand, and the smell of salt and sea overcame her, making her whole body give a slight sudder at the nostalgia and memories that came flooding back to her with the simple scent. But this time, she smelled something new. Blood. [SandClan territory?] [[ooc;;Haha yeah, that would be unfortunate for Ocean Sea xD And Tarsen and Tizzy would'nt know what to make of it xD]]

Racing along the frozen earth, Bonepaw sped towards PineClan territory, tall trees looming ahead in the distance. Racing Stormcloud was fun, and for the millionth time that day, she thanked StarClan that he was her leader rather than some horrible cat like Yewstorm. She shuddered at the name, but did not slow her pace as she raced her mentor to the trees. Finally, she crossed the scent-marks across the border and hurtled to a stop, gasping for breath, exhilarated and in a frenzy. She didn't know the way to the PineClan camp, so she hoped that Stormcloud would be able to help her. Standing up, she awaited Stormcloud's arrival, paws tingling in excitement. Realizing that it may be dangerous to for a foreign cat to be standing on PineClan terriotry all alone, especially an aprentice, she slunk closer to the border, feeling the unusual and alarming crack of a twig under her paws.

Stormcloud came skidding to a halt beside his apprentice, flanks rising and falling rapidly but his energy by no means spent. He crouched down low and crept forward with the pine needles brushing against his belly uncomfortably, signalling with a flick of his tail for Bonepaw to follow. The horrible little twigs stuck to his paws but he did not voice his disgust, instead the tom opened his mouth, scenting for where the PineClan smell was strongest. All Stormcloud's senses were alert to danger as every cat knew there were bears in PineClan territory and this tom had no wish of running into one.

Realizing that this was a good chance to learn, even if it wasn't an official training session, Bonepaw watched what her mentor did carefully, and then did so herself. Crouching low to the ground, needles and icy earth brushing her soft underbelly, she slunk along behind the tom, hardly daring to place her paw on the ground for fear that she might snap a twig and all of PineClan would come running. Wincing as a needle stabbed her paw, she stopped, prying it out with her teeth before continuing. How was it that she could run at full speed through JaggedClan territory and not get a scatch, yet, crouching carefully through the forest, she still got a pine needle in her paw? "Do you know how to get to the camp?" she mewed, hardly understandable, she was speaking so softly.

Bonepaw's meow was so quiet that Stormcloud had to go over it in his mind once more to make sure he'd heard right. He would have laughed but the fact was her fear was not unreasonable. "It should be where their scent is strongest." He replied equally softly, slipping through the widely-spaced tree trunks with obvious distaste. There wasn't nearly enough cover here. All the while, Stormcloud's small pink nose scented the area around them, trying to locate the source of the stench of PineClan. His eyes narrowed in trimph as he thought he got the direction and the quickness of his pace increased as he slunk foreward. With any luck, it would not be a common huntign ground he had scented but PineClan camp. It would take more than luck for them to persuade Ebonystar to lend an enemy Clan their medicine cat though, the tom reflected grimly.

Bonepaw nodded at her mentor's response. It made sense, she realized, and she felt stupid for not figuring it out herself. Deciding that she must pay more attention to what was going on around her, and less to her racing heart, fear, and annoyingly sweet smell of pine, she concentrated, mouth open, trying to scent for PineClan cats. Only then did she realize that she could not distinguish the scent from the strong-smelling trees around her, and she gave a hiss of irritation, pressing her belly closer to the ground. How could any cat live like this?! Slinking along after her mentor, she gave up, discouraged, doing nothing but follow his lead. No wonder her sister was so embarassed of her, was her bitter realization.

Sure enough, the mingled scent of pine trees and cats became progressively stronger as they neared the heart of the Clan's territory. He thanked StarClan that they had not met any cats on the way but also asked the celestial warriors to continue bestowing such luck on them. they would certainly need it. His paws fell into the tracks undoubtably made by generations of PineClan cats but it did not comfort him. He was, quite literally, treading in the pawsteps of his enemy. Once they were close enough, he flicked his apprentice about the ears lightly with his tail to get her attention, "Bonepaw, I want you to stick by me and stay quiet, okay?" He instructed, knowing the little cat's tendency to get excited and let her tongue run away with her but that couldn't happen now, for Ashpaw's sake. "If they want to fight, we run. There's no question of attacking them in their own camp. We can try for SandClan after if we need to, but whatever happens, don't start a fight!"

By now, Bonepaw's heart was racing faster than it ever had in her life. Okay, maybe not as fast as it had when she almost lost her life falling off of a stone a few days ago, but in the slience around her, it felt like her heart was beating louder and faster than usual, and she could hear it pulsing in her ears. She twitched them in annoyance. Suddenly, her mentor stopped, and she followed suit, pressing her body to the ground and baring her fangs. Had he heard something? Were other cats around? No, he only wanted to give her instructions, but she did not relax. Nodding, jaws clenched tight together, she inhaled deeply before continuing through the forest, closer to the PineClan camp. [[PineClan camp?]]
