"Hah, come and catch meh!"
Bronzeleaf slammed his paws into the ground, skidding around a tight corner and heading off again. Leaping over several logs and boulders, he finally reached his destination: a large oak tree. Heaving himself onto the trunk, the senior warrior scurried up the tree and hid himself in the thick brush, hoping to ambush the young apprentice.

"You bet I will!" Duskpaw called after Bronzeleaf, hoping her response would carry. white frog-spotted legs pumping furiously, she dashed across the pineneedle carpeted forest floor, in hot pursuit of the tom warrior. Instead of jumping over the boulders logs, she skirted around them, never losing pace. It wasn't until she was nearly upon the oak tree, and Bronzeleaf's hiding spot, that she realized that she hadn't seen, heard, nor smelled any trace of the warrior. As soon as the thought popped into her head, Duskpaw attempted to stop, which was only accomplished after several tail-lengths of skidding.
Which set her right under the oak tree's shadow. Half-up on her paws, she looked around, every which way...besides up. "Bronzeleaf....where'd ya go?!" she meowed, a bit of worry entering. He couldn't have been more then a pawful of fox-lengths ahead. She shakily opened her jaws, letting in a small flood of scents. Pine, tree, squirrel (she saved this one for later), more pine...cat? Yeah, it smelled like Bronzeleaf. But, why was he up there...Duskpaw began to look up, slowly, very slowly.

Hooking his legs tightly around the branch, he let his front limbs fall. Leaning backwards, the furry warrior hung upside down; staring down at Duskpaw with an amused smile. "'Ello thar!" He snicker, flipping and landing on all paws. "This 'ol coot still has sume life within 'em!" Bronzeleaf laughed, whiskers twitching

Duskpaw's eyes nearly bugged out of her head as Bronzeleaf appeared to fall from a branch...and then hook himself upon it. "HOLY--" she began, but no sound came out as her mouth rhythmically moves up and down. Blinking for the first time in half-a-minute, her eyes "shrinking", the apprentice slowly closed her mouth. The next second, it was open again.
"Bronzeleaf...YOU HAVE TO TEACH ME HOW TO DO THAT!" she squealed, bright blue eyes now shining. Tail straight as a line, she did a small "dance" in place, eyes never leaving the tom and his stunt. "That is amazing...you have to teach me!" she repeated, running the few pawsteps to the trunk.

Smirk crawled on Faithheart's face as she padded out of the bushes, Faeriewish padding in after her. "Gotta teach us that too!" Faeriewish and Faithheart said at the same time. Faeriewish smiled at the apprentice. "I sound like a apprenitce." Faithheart blurted out, as she sat down. Black fur covered her whole body. Faerieiwsh couldn't help but stick her tounge out at her sister, before approuching the apprentice and Bronzeleaf. "So. You like Bronzeleaf?" She teased.

Bronzeleaf replied with a crooked grin, the nodded. "Ah guess yah can learn eet, but yah gotta listen carefully!" He winked then lifted his head as Faithheart and Faeriewish appeared; orange fur rippling because of the wind. Climbing back into the tree, he crawled on to the lowest yet strongest branch he could find.
"All right yah lil' she-cats, listen up yah hear?" He called down, sinking his claws into the thick, damp wood. "I'mma show yah how it's done." Carefully and slowly maneuvering his legs around, the senior warrior wrapped them around the tree before cautiously leaning back. Slowly, as if he was a worm, the tomcat allowed himself to hang completely by his hind legs.
"Yah gotta be carefully, or else yah will fall on yah head." Chuckling, Bronzeleaf looked over at Duskpaw and eyed her body build. "Luckily, yer body is small and the tree will hold yah up. For now, practice being upside down, all right?" He hopped down and easily propped his back feet on to the trunk of the tree. "Gotta get used to all the blood rushin' to yer head, right?"

Duskpaw nodded rapidly, longer fur from the top of the head settling in her eyes when she finally stopped. Ears stiffening as Faeriewish and Faithheart emerged, she shook the fur out of her face and turned to them. "Yeah! Bronzeleaf's gonna teach all of us!" she meowed happily, blue eyes smiling. With that she turned away from the she-cats, training her gaze back on Bronzeleaf, who was busy worming himself into the hanging position.
"So. You like Bronzeleaf?" she heard Faeriewish tease, and turned to her in turn. "Well, he's teaching me a new move, isn't he?" Duskpaw meowed back, ears picking up Bronzeleaf's comment on her body size. "So I should go up now? Okay!" she squealed, before leaping onto the oak's trunk, and scaling it to the lowest branch.

Bronzeleaf followed, taking a seat behind her. "Be careful, runt!" He grunted, ready to catch her if she were to fall. "Now, focus all yer strength intah yah legs. Don't be gettin' cocky and thinkin' 'dat yer a StarClan cat!" He teased, remembering the time he was taught this from his father. He had been cocky and leaned back to fast; ended up falling, luckily not on his head.

Duskpaw nodded slowly, claws digging into the branch. Keeping the thought of worming into the position in her head, she crouched low and started to slink off the branch. Back paw's claws (random ooc: agh, that was bad writing) digging into the branch, she had her elbows off later then sooner. 'This isn't so bad...' she thought, becoming exactly what she had been warned against: cocky. Her face loosening up, she began to abandon squirming to half-pushing half-jumping.
And just as her upper torso was in the air...her body slipped off the branch. The shock of it caused her claws, and the attached paw, to loosen their grip for just a moment. Enough for balance to disappear, as well as her grip. Letting our a high-pitched caterwaul, Duskpaw completely detached from the branch, her white frog-spotted legs flailing as she tried to get a grip. But...she had chosen the lowest branch. And even if it was low compared to the other branches, it was high up enough...

"Runt!"
Bronzeleaf exclaimed, eyes widening. Pushing off the branch, he used his back paws to pounce off of the trunk and fling his body towards the apprentice. Body twisting and turning, the tom gripped Duskpaw's scruff with his fangs; front limbs latching on to the branch. "Gah..." Bronzeleaf winced, watching as the chips of broken wood dug into his paws. 'Gotta pull 'em tah safty...' He thought to himself, strength returning to him. Finally, he managed to pull both of them up on to the branch. "Yah okay, runt?" The ginger colored tom asked as they returned to the safety of the sturdy branch. Hopefully, she wasn't shaken that badly.

Faeriewish smiled at the apprentice's answer, seeing her bound up the tree, she decided to go up later. She padded back to sit by her sister, the person she was slightly scared about sometimes, because she looked exactly like their father, She shook her head.
Then Duskpaw fell.
Faithheart was too busy searching the bushies now, searching for some mice. Faeriewish gasped as she ran under the spot Duskpaw was falling, though it probably wouln't help. But, Bronzeleaf got her. "...What a hard trick." She said sarcasticly in her mind.

Duskpaw barely comprehended what was happening between her fall and being pulled back on the branch. But as soon as he claws dug into the said branch, it all came spinning back. "I-I guess so..." she meowed softly in response to Bronzeleaf's question. Slowly lifting her head, she looked meekly at the tom. "How did you...catch me?" She asked, usually temperament starting to come back. A frightful idea of what Bronzeleaf might be thinking crossed her mind, and it probably reflecting in her eyes. "But please- don't teach me how!" she meowed quickly, grinning sheepishly up again.

It was shaping up to be a cold day. The sun was still partially obscured by the snowy horizon, and already Wolfpaw's teeth were threatening to chatter. A light covering of early-morning snow dusted his grey pelt and gave way easily beneath his paws as he padded along. With every step Wolfpaw reproved himself for leaving the toasty-warm apprentice's den in favor of exploring PineClan territory (againt the rules of the Clan, no less!) Wolfpaw had known he was breaking rules--no apprentices allowed outside camp without a warrior--but restlessness had gotten the best of him. He wasn't one to get restless easily, but after more than half a moon without a mentor, Wolfpaw had been driven to the extent of his patience. Everyone had a limit, right? And although Wolfpaw was mild-mannered, it didn't mean he was any less curious than the other cats his age.
Unfortunately, his curiousity had taken him for an unexpected turn. Wolfpaw hated to admit it, but his sense of direction had never been good, and as he turned back, expecting to find a trail of pawprints to follow back to camp, he found instead that his tracks had been filled by the same snow now coating his fur. "You're screwed now," he chuckled bitterly to himself, deciding to make for the sunrise in hopes of finding another PineClanner who could show him back to camp.

Needlegaze slunk through the undergrowth. With every step he took, a light pawprint embedded itself in the thin layer of snow powdering the ground. Very aware that Runningspirit was not far behind, Needlegaze kept his senses alert. Ears pricked, jaws parted for any whiff of mouse or hare that should cross his path, the reddish tom was on edge. He had turned a simple hunting trip into a competition--or at least, in his mind, he had, and Needlegaze was intent on winning it.
Expression stoic as usual, Needlegaze felt his heart flutter for a brief second as he caught a whiff of mouse. Yes! He immediately and silently fell into a hunter's crouch, and began making his way toward where the smell was coming from. Any prey was precious in this climate, not to mention the fact that it was ice-freeze.
A rustling ahead told Needlegaze it was time to stop, and in a split second, he had pinpointed the position of the mouse and leaped upon it, giving it a swift bite to the neck with piercing jaws.
I've won.
Though as usual, he showed no pride as he buried the mouse for later. He suddenly caught a whiff of something else. It wasn't foreign, it was...familiar. Some clan mate--though he didn't know who it was, he didn't spend enough time with others to really learn their scents.
"Runningspirit," he mewed in a monotone, "another cat is out."
Immediately, he suspected Jaycall. I knew it! She was acting suspicious in camp! She's up to something! Anger flared in him, but he showed none of it, pushing a burning glint out of his amber eyes.
[[ooc;;by the way, the clanmate I'm talking about is Wolfpaw ^w^]] <<- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ♫
