The wind blew lightly, and the cool breeze blew right in the sow's face. She was walking to the stream.
And, one thing she knew was that.
Black Lightning was around. She liked to call him Lightning, as he commonly called her Lilly, because, it seemed weird to be called Black for him, and, he started to always call her Lilly instead of Shadow.
Her figure pranced through the forest, as she came to the huge clearing with the stream in it. She then heard a twig come, which showed that someone was around.
"Stop hiding, Lightning, its obvoius your there." She hissed angrly. She disliked him alot. And I mean ALOT, she didnt like him.
He was stalking her, when in his point of veiw, was, ''protecting'' her.

♫ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - >> Lightning lumbered along stealthily through the woods, trying his hardest to keep his heavy paws from thumping too loudly upon the frozen forest floor. Thankfully, a bed of pine needles seemed to be muffling his steps, and he allowed himself to move a bit faster, ears pricked and nose tingling for signs of movement.
Finally, he reached the stream, and stopped short. There she was. He sighed, his small, dark eyes examining her. Lilly was perfect in every way, and even though she obviously hated his presence, Lightning felt an impulse to watch and protect the sow.
Taking a small step forward to get a better view of her, a twig snapped beneath his rather broad paw, and he ducked his head in a vain attempt to hide himself. Obviously, it did no good.
He heard her clear voice echo across the small clearing where the stream ran. "Stop hiding, Lightning, it's obvious you're there," her tone was angry, irritated. And yet, he still loved to hear it. But what now? She wasn't an idiot. He couldn't act like he was a clump of ferns. He was a large, slender black bear stalking another, and there was no denying it.
What would my father do in this situation? His father. He gave a short shudder, but remembering his father's strength and courage, stopped himself, and thought. What would he do?
Taking a step out of his hiding place, he lumbered casually over to Lilly. "Hidin'?" he flicked his broad black ears, "I was juss...comin' down to tha' stream. F'r fish. Why'dyou think I'm hidin'?" It was his principle. Let the other bear talk. Stay quiet. If he knew what let Lilly on, he'd be able to follow her more easily. To make sure she was safe.
[[ooc;; I've picked up Bronze's characteristic accent for this chara since it was originally her's. BRONZIE! We haven't forgotten! <3]]

Shadow Lilly Bjorn waited, her senses clear, paying attention to the clump of forest where she knew he was. The sound was obvious, it was from that spot, no doubt. The sow black bear felt idiotic for a moment, letting Lightning know that she knew he was around. Because, alot of times when she went hunting and Black Lightnign Bjorn followed, he would make all kinds of noises though she ignored them. She remembered once when he made a lame bird noise. She thought he wanted her to know he was around.
The bear saw him coming, as she flickered her thick ears too. "F'r fish!" She rolled her eyes, mocking him a bit. She turned around, her body paddidng over to the river, as she layed next to it, staring at her reflection out of boredness.
Now, she was being stalked by her Alpha. As, her Alpha was stalked his Beta.

♫ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - >> When he got no response from Lilly, Lightning shrugged and made his way down to the muddy earth by the water. In truth, he was a terrible fisher, but he had said that his reason for being here was to fish, and so, he would. Leaning over the steam, he peered at the crystal surface, watching the water closley for fish. This was his chance to impress Lilly! The thought puffed his fur up for a moment in anticipation of pride, but he knocked the thought away, and returned his concentration to the shimmering surface of the water.
Suddenly, he caught sight of shining scales rippling under the surface. With a clumsy swipe of his large, black paw, he caught the fish, claws raking its side, and brought it out of the water. It made a sickening splat as it hit the frozen forest floor, and writhed for a few moments before going still. Lightning couldn't help but notice his clumsy handiwork. He had more or less crushed the whole head of the fish, and the thing was basically a mess of blood. He cast a worried glance at Lilly, scuffing some pine needles over the fish to keep most of the blood hidden. At least it's caught, he thought, trying to keep his thoughts optimistic.

Lilly stared down at the water with Lightning. She stared, her paw over the water. Everytime a fish came into veiw it was too low. She shoved herself a bit to get a better position, but then she looked at Lightning just in case. Too bad for him she saw him swipe at fish, seeing it fly out of the water and onto the terrian in a splat that made her look away, and when she looked back the fish was mutated. She blinked as she stared at the fish and then Lightning.
He didnt know how to fish!
"Hello my little learner." She smirked. "Im gonna teach you how to catch fish."

♫ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - >> Lightning felt the neck on his fur bristle in irritation and disblief at Lilly's words.
"Hello my little learner. I'm gonna teach you how to fish."
Lightning scowled then. He was not ashamed of his catch! A fish was a fish, and even if it's head was smashed, it would still feed the tribe!
"I know how to fish fine, thanks," he retorted, scraping his claws against the ground, "Even if it's not the neatest catch in the world." Realizing suddenly that he had made a fool of himself in front of Lilly, Lightning turned back to the stream, suddenly fascinated in the ripples in the water, and gazed intently at the rippling surface in a failed attempt to ingore Lilly.
As long as I don't make a fool of myself again, he told himself, digging his claws into the frozen ground.

Lilly's smirk left, as she listened to Lightning. Her ears went against her head, as her eyes started to water at his tone. She let out a small bear-whimper, and turned around. "Well sorry!" She said, in a cry voice, as she ran into the forest. She wanted to run to camp, but, she stopped atleast 20 yards from camp. and from the stream, sitting in a small clearing of forest.
"I hate him!" She shouted, not loud, just loud enough for the whole clearing to hear. "He had to be so rude just because I was playing around, for once I was trying to be nice to him instead of being mean, and he turns heart!" She yells to herself, claws scraping against the earth, eyes wet.

♫ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - >> Lightning's grip on the ground began to loosen as he heard the hurt in Lilly's voice. "Well sorry!" was her hurt response before she turned and ambled off into the forest. Three fish swam before Lightning's eyes, but he made no attempt to catch them. Rather, he listened to Lilly's wails. Thou he could not make out individual words, her recognized her voice, and the agony it held, and soon, Lightning kicked his one fish back into the icy river. He turned and did not watch its mangled form get swept down the river.
You followed her to protect her, yet you only mad things worse, he told himself. Not wanting to return to the cave, he wandered deeper into the wooded territory until he came to a large tree, and plopping down, rested his head against it. He was ashamed. Ashamed of what he had done, and how he'd made Lilly feel.
"You follow her to protect her," he said, choking on his words, "Yet you only made her miserable," his claws dug into the ground, and he whumped his head against the trunk of the tree.
"You're so stupid" Whump, "You love her," whump, "You need her," whump, "You'd give your life to protect her, and then what do you do? You go and hurt her!" Whump, whump, whump...
He was dizzy now. But, he felt it was what he deserved. Alpha male, and he couldn't even help the bear he loved...

She sat down. It wasnt fair. She was only trying to be nice to that.. that.... She wasnt gonna say it. Lilly sighed as she stared at her claw marks in the ground. She sighed again, seeing that she has anger issues when she got upset, or something in that line of.. angryness. The large sow pulled herself up, bringing her paw up to wipe dirt of her muzzle, and started to walk away. After a few minutes, she started to run, and a whump made her stop in her tracks,
Her head snapped to the left. What the heck?! She blinked, and started to go to the sound, seeing Lightning, and hearing him saying he was stupid. She blinked, and ducked her body between bushes.
You love her.
Her heart fluttered, though her throat chocked. He loved her?
Protect? He wanted to protect her, and.... he'd give his life for her? Her heart kept fluddering, but, she decided to make a self-hearted joke.
"Aww, how sweet." She said it in that tone, stepping out of the bushes. She used a tone like your friend would do..Awwwww, how sweet. I guess, like your friend would do when she heard you has a crush on the cutest boy at school.
((..That made me laugh...whump whump x3))

♫ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - >> At the sound of Lilly's voice, Lightning whipped around. "Aww, how sweet!" Lightning felt the fur on his neck prickle in embarassed discomfort. She had seen him? She had heard him? Well, it was nice she thought it sweet, at least, and for a moment, Lightning was glad she had seen him.
Careful, remembering how he had hurt her just moments ago, and deciding to avoid that route, he stood up, shaking his head, words rumbling from his chest.
"Amazin' how a bear whackin' his head against ah tree'll change another bear's opinion of 'im, eh?" he said, amusement glittering in his eyes. He didn't say it in an angry or rude way, more in a joking way.
"S'ya...ya heard all that...didja?" he added, eyes widening. "B'cause...y'know..." here, he fidgeted, suddenly extremley interestind in the dirt at his oversized paws. He finally looked up, meeting her eyes.
"I meant it..."

Shadow Lilly Bjorn was completly joking. She accually thought how much Lightning had followed her, and how much she despised him for doing that, though a part of her thought it was cute, how he kept following her, like he wanted to know that she was okay at all times. The bear looked at Lightning with a smile, a kind, motherly one, and then he talked.
"Amazin' how a bear whackin' his head against ah tree'll change another bear's opinion of 'im, eh?" She smiled happily, like a child. "S'ya...ya heard all that...didja?" She nodded. "B'cause...y'know..." Her head tilted, her heart fluddered. "I meant it..." She blunk. Her body froze, and, he claws seeped into the frozen earth. She took a deep breathe, and, walked up to him.
"I love you too..."

What she said next couldn't have surprised him more. It was the answer that he least expected--the answer he hadn't been expecting to hear.
"I love you too,"
The words echoed in his head, and slowly, Lightning turned to face Lilly. He scrutinized her face, but could catch not a glimpse of mocking or joke. Still, Lightning wasn't so sure.
"You...you mean it?" he rumbled, his voice hoarse and nearly inaudable.

Lilly waited quietly for a reply, sinking her claws into the ground, nervous of what his reply was. She gulped as she shivered a bit at the draft that just came in, and then she saw him look at her. She smiled at him as he talked. Of course she was being serious! Why wouldn't she be serious? It would be weird if she wasnt being serious...
"Promise me, I wouldn't be saying it if I didnt mean it." She said in a laugh as she lightly nuzzled his cheek lovingly, before she blinked her chocolate brown eyes, trying to look at his eyes, before she got to embarressed and then looked away nervously.

He watched as she tried to meet his gaze but looked away, presumeably in embarassment.
So he took it upon himself to meet hers.
"I love you too," was his soft reply, and he nuzzled her back.
"C'mon," he rumbled when he pulled away, "Let's get back to the cave...it looks like Bjorn has an alpha female."

Bluestar
[[Is there a place where the bear's prey and hunting techniques are listed?]] Velvet Frrost lumbered out of the Bjorn cave, into the barren clearing that surrounded it. Padding quietly away from camp, Velvet Frost sniffed the air swiftly, her rounded paws shuffling slightly against the ground as her long, silky fur rippled in the buffetting winds, the creamy shade of moon-bleached snow. The sow's black nose twitched as she hooked onto the scent of a squirrel. Locking her eyes around it's quivering, bushy tail, she took her weight to her haunches, croched, then jumped, skidding on the snow. Her paws crashed down on the squirrel, and she dispatched it with a light flick of her glossy claws. Picking up the prey in her jaws, she scraped a shallow hole in the ground, covering it with a thin layer of soil, she would come back for it later. The sow's electric blue eyes glinted as she headed deeper into the hunting grounds to a place where her commotion with the squirrel hadn't been heard. She didn't have to wait long. The scuffling sound of a mouse, scrabbling at snow caused Velvet Frost to pause. Scenting the air, she turned slowly, and, seeing the mouse, intent on it's progress to travel over the snow, she crouched, each limb rising high and silent as she stealthily stalked her prey. The wind changed, and Velvet Frost leapt heavily, not expecting the change. She hooked her claw ito the departing mouse's tail, then pulled it back in one swift movement and driving a claw across it's life. The sow then turned back to her buried prey, and, with a mouse and a squirrel trapped in her jaws, headed back to Bjorn Camp.
With this life I give you nobility and certainty and faith. Use it well as you lead your clan in the ways of StarClan and the warrior code.
