A cold, icy wind whips around the tree, sending each cat's fur flying. The occasional cloud flutters across the sky, never covering the shimmering surface of the full moon--though often daring to mute the pinprick glow of stars.
Cats must speak louder than usual to be heard. If they don't, who knows? Their words may just be carried off by the wind...

♫- there's only music so that there's new ring tones... |
[[ooc;; you must wait until your leader has arrived here to begin the gathering. The leader enters first. ^^]]
Wildstar stalked up to a large rock, peering around it to see if any cats were there. Jaws parted, she made the conclusion that none of the other clans had even arrived yet. Fur whipping in the wind, she gave the signal with her tail before padding confidently into the empty clearing. Tonight, it tasted of cold, fast air. It was invigorating, and despite her clan's recent hardships, Wildstar couldn't help it as her kit-like instinct kicked in--an instinct that had been scarce lately.
As if all her problems had been lifted off her shoulders from StarClan for this very occasion, Wildstar found herself purring, then running. She did a lap or two around the great gnarled tree, the icy wind whipping through her long dreadlocked pelt before throwing herself at it. The feel of her yellow claws unsheathing into the soft trunk of the tree was a very satisfying feeling, and Wildstar began to climb it, hopping from branch-to-branch until she was at quite a height. She sat for a moment, digging her claws into and out of the branch before stalking now, slower, balancing carefully as she made her way back to the trunk and clambered down to a lower branch.
Her urge to leap and run now satisfied, Wildstar contented herself by sitting, eyes narrowed, as her body quaked in cold. For a moment, she felt a knot in her belly at the knowledge that as soon as the next clan entered the clearing, all her problems would be thrust back upon her, slammed upon her shoulders again, like the game young children tend to play with the kid who has the heaviest backpack. They lift it, carry it for a while, straps still secure around his shoulders, before dropping it again, causing a great deal of shouting and stumbling by both parties.
But for now, Wildstar decided to enjoy this weightlessness as her clan entered the clearing below. Camp was safe, foxes were being fought out, and all their drama seemed nearly finished by now.

Oakwood grunted, bones creaking as he made his way into the clearing. His muscles ached from the climb down the cliff, and his eyes narrowed in worry at the realization that he may not be able to attend any more gatherings soon.
Sitting his tired body down at the first welcoming spot--that is, the spot most out of the way of the whipping wind and closest to the knotted tree that he could get, he let out a purr of amusement as Wildstar darted around. For a cat of such ripe age, she sure did know how to preserve the kit in her, even through the hardest times.
He suddenly thought back to the last gathering, and the pretty young she-cat he had met--Jaysong...Jaysing...Jaycall? Something like that. He wondered absently how PineClan was doing. He hoped to see her again--after all, he had promised her, "until next gathering!" At his age, he was too old to worry about boundaries when making a new friend. As far as Oakwood reckoned, he'd better make as many friends as he could--he'll be joining StarClan any day now.
No you won't fool! he found himself hissing internally. It was, after all, a rather pessimistic view at his old age. But instantly, he thought of Harefoot. Once he died, he'd be with his mate again, walking the stars forever.
But now he was here, at the gathering. He certainly wouldn't be dying now, and so, he satisfied himself with drawing in, his frail bones creaking as he huddled against himself, thin pelt fluffed out for warmth. Boy, was it cold! And what a wind! Good thing Wildstar seemed to be enjoying herself! | ...oh i won't go, oh, no, no -♫

Nightshade entered the clearing at Wildstar's signal ,and watched as the older cat raced around the Knotted Tree like a kit. She seemed so carefree, like nothing had happened back at camp. His leader then ran at the tree and started climbing it until she was pretty high.
As she climbed down to a lower branch, Nightshade took what he thought would be his spot, underneath Wildstar's branch. "Having fun?" He tilted his head back to look at his leader. "I haven't seen you act like this for a while." Now the icy chill was getting to him, so he fluffed up his ebony fur. He gazed around the pretty much deserted clearing before he spotted Oakwood settling himself not too far from the big old tree.
"Pretty cold tonight, isn't it Oakwood?" Nightshade had never really gotten the chance to get to know the elder. The proud Jaggedclan Deputy gazed up at the night sky, wispy clouds were making their way through it. Oddly enough, the clouds seemed to be weaving their way around the moon, as if it were burning hot or something.

Shadows can't overtake me...
Shivering with pure exitement, Ravenpaw trotted into the clearing. Her long, feathery tail held high and flicking happily. Her ears were pricked firmly and every pawstep she took her whole body shook with happiness at being at her first gathering.
Her beautifully formed ice-blue eyes scanning the clearing. There was a big tree, a magnificent tree, with multiple trunks that spiralled upwards. A beautiful shade of molten brown shone in the moonlight, making the smooth trunk look almost illuminated.
This is wonderful! The young JaggedClan apprentice thought. Millions of questions whirled in her head. Questions she wanted to ask her mentor, Veiledeyes.
Where do the leaders sit? Which clan do the leaders each belong to? Who are the leaders?
Ravenpaw couldn't wait to meet the other apprentices and talk about life in the clans... unless...
"Veiledeyes, I'm not allowed to give any secrets away am I?"
Not while I'm still living.

Letting out a low growl Riverstone mad his way into the clearing. His ears perked up and he glared at Nightshade as he spoke and took his place on the tree. He didn't deserve to be deputy! Riverstone's tail hung low and he padded toward Oakwood.
"Hello."
Was all the came from his maw. He looked over his shoulder and watched Ravenpaw stare in amazement. It wasn't that great... His tail twitched and he shuffled his paws. He looked back over a Oakwood. It wasn't long until he himself would become an elder. What would happen in that time? He shook that thought away, where were the other clans?!

It must have been something in the air, something about the night itself-- for Wildstar was the only one feeling giddy as the JaggedClan troupe entered the hollow of the Knotted Tree. Veiledeyes, who herself didn't start running in circles (much less climb the Tree, a Leader's spot), anyone could tell her step was lighter, almost a prance. Her eyes stood apart even more vibrantly then usual in the dark, lit up by the feeling of simple joys, and the knowing of peace.
It helped her apprentice seemed completely and utterly amazed by the Gathering site of old, causing the ashen warrior to purr for a few brief moments. Ravenpaw was literally shivering, and definitely not from the cold! Keeping in mind to not let herself think anymore like an Elder then usual, the wide-eyed cat thought quietly about her first Gathering. Was she shivering? Maybe, but, knowing her...it had probably been from the cold. The idea brought an audible snort, a hard and unusual sound for her.
"Veiledeyes, I'm not allowed to give any secrets away am I?"
Going back to reality's present always hurt her brain. Shaking her slim head a few times, she looked back to Ravenpaw, who was getting harder and harder to distinguish against the darkening surroundings. Then, for the conversation and not for her own head's means, she shook her head in a simple, but hard, 'No'.
"Definitely not! So don't mention anything about our Clan. It'll be easy enough to believe that Pepperthorn simply wasn't allowed to the Gathering, if anyone ask, anyway!" Her meow, which started out as an uncharacteristic 'no-nonsense' tone, soon changed to a chuckle at the end...even if the topic of her 'joke' wasn't the funniest. She always laughed when nobody else did, anyway.

Nightshade narrowed his eyes as Riverstone stalked past. The other tom growled. "You got a problem?" The ebony tom cooly addressed his brother-in-law(XD), before turning to watch Ravenpaw gaze in amazment at his surroundings. He seemed so happy to be here!
Nightshade sighed, his thoughts were crowding his brain. He shook his head to clear them. To many sad memories. Now he just couldn't wait for the other clans to get there, so much news from Jaggedclan! "Hey Veiledeyes! What do you think Snowclan will say about Stormcloud's little "accomplishment"?" Sure, he didn't want to remind himself or anybody else about it, but he wanted someone's opinion.
Again, he looked up at Wildstar. She looked so happy, and giddy! Compared to the rest of them, she was the one who would bring joy to all. Nightshade felt like jumping up there with her, but he knew it wasn't his spot just yet. Of course, he was excited that he would one day become leader, but Wildstar was doing fine right now, and would for a while.
Nightshade was now staring impatiently around, really wanting the other clans to get there.

Veiledeyes watched her apprentice, one of those nasty habits, for awhile, even after the mentor had answered Ravenopaw's question. Realizing what she was doing (finally), the ashen warrior turned away quickly, directing her eyes at the rest of the JaggedClan troupe, however small it was, that congregated around the Knotted Tree's gnarled, ancient trunk and waving, bare branches. Really small. Including herself, there were seven total.
And the other Clans had still not come. After a near owl-like maneuver to check the edges of the hollow once more, the warrior lowered herself onto the dirt floor, slim head stretching in a voracious yawn. "Might as well get comfortable..." she thought as her lids lowered, leaving but a sliver of the pale green of her eye showing, as the she-cat began to burn a few bridges to her surroundings.
"Hey Veiledeyes! What do you think Snowclan will say about Stormcloud's little "accomplishment"?"
One eye flickered open immediately, a surprisingly calm reaction for a sudden yowl, directed at her by Nightshade the Deputy. A moment later the companion eye opened as well, two matching orbs in the twilight. She nodded to show she heard the tom, before looking up, seemingly at the sparkling moon and matching stars, thinking. After what could have been seconds or minutes (but most certainly not hours), the red dusted head snapped back into place, maw already opened, words tumbling out faster then an overflowing brook.
"Well, they will most definitely bring it up if we, as a Clan, do not. So, it is my opinion we try to speak first. And if we do manage to claim the first chance to talk, then I believe an apologize will be needed. This way it will be seen our deeds are regretted, and that we do not want a war. Because if we do NOT get the first spot, then it is very likely the story could be twisted out of proportion and turned against us, hence starting the unwanted war."
After a rare, and striking speech, Veiledeyes bent her head, tongue extended as it smoothed down some rebelling chest fur. As soon as all was 'perfect', the warrior looked up again, only to murmur a more typical sentence.
"That's my opinion, and all..."

Shadows can't overtake me...
Ravenpaw nodded in adknowledgement and watching her mentor pad away, she sat down, and waited for the other clans.
But the black apprentice felt quite bored now all the exitement was over about seeing the clearing. But it would be better when the other clans arrived, and she knew it just fine.

Wavestar entered the surroundings of the knotted tree with a kind of rough dignity, her pelt lightly dusted with sand, with a few telltale fluffyer-than-usual slithers of fur to show she hadn't groomed inthe last sun or two of clan life. She padded directly up to the tree as the wind buffetted her fur like an icy, slapping hand. She hooked her claws lightly around one of the old, gnarled branches and hoisted herself up, taking her place on the ancient perch, letting her tail fall off the surface and wave wildly around, letting the wind toy at it as she inconscicously licked a paw and sent it vaguely across some of the sand, then set her paw down in front of her, gazing around with bright, amber eyes.

Ravenpaw saw Wavestar. Here comes SandClan! She turned back her attention to the clearing around her, and started to clean a paw.
She wondered if any SandClan apprentices were here...

Riverstone glared at Nightshade, did that ebony tom think he was all high and mighty just because he was deputy! No way would riverstpne bow down to that tom, not even for Silentsong. He twitched his tail annoyingly and sighed.
He looked up quickly as SandClan started to arrive. When SnowClan came, he would be ready to defend Stormcloud, since he knew what happened. it wasn't the poor sandy-colored toms fault! His fur prickled with anticipation as he waited for the last two clans to arrive.

-------------------->Blood will spill blood...
Moonstar bounded across the snow to catch up with the stormy grey warrior. When she saw him, she was surprised to see him crouching low to the ground on the edge of the Gathering hollow, hidden from the cats in the clearing by a row of thorn bushes. He turned round when he heard her coming, and she was pleased to see his eyes had lost their angry quality, but still we pricking with guilt.
Moonstar crouched next to him. At least she knew exactly what had happened at Phoenixpaw's injury. She would have to punish Garnetstorm when they got back from the Gathering. But that would have to wait for now.
She gazed down into the clearing below. JaggedClan and SandClan were already there. She tried to spot Stormcloud amongst the crowd.
She waited until all the SnowClan cats were behind her, then she flicked her tail and led the cats into the hollow. She expected nothing less than hostility from the JaggedClan cats, but she hoped Wavestar had heard nothing of Phoenixpaw.
She suddenly felt extremely self-conscious as she entered the clearing, and remembered her first Gathering as leader. She had been very nervous, wondering if she was going to say something wrong. But this time she held her head high and effortlessly bounded through the throng of cats and leaped up onto a higher branch than Wavestar, just above her. She licked her shoulder, smoothing down her glimmering silver fur. She nodded to the SandClan leader, then to Wildstar, parallel to her.
She looked down, and saw Soulstealer, the huge black SandClan deputy below her, with hunched shoulders and was glaring into the crowd. His near red eyes glinted in the faint light.
Moonstar shivered, but not from the cold. A biting wind was whipping up her fur. So much for the grooming, she thought, annoyed.
Heavyheart followed Moonstar down the slope, trotting with firm and even steps. He mingled into the crown of cats.
And the lake will run red...<------------------------- [/sub]

Shadows can't overtake me...
Cloudfrost bounded into the hollow, and seeing the familiar knotted tree, he purred, which was unusual for the long-coated white warrior. He was normally stubborn and hotheaded, but he felt refreshed at this moment.
The fluffy white tom trotted over to a group of warriors. He blinked his cool blue eyes and waited for them to speak first. ((Can be anyone))

Spiritpaw dashed into the clearing, and was about to yowl a greeting before realizing that Jaggedclan was there. She didn't want to start a commotion, especially at her very first Gathering. "Tigerstorm, what do I do now?" She guietly called bahind her.
Spiritpaw fluffed up her silvery fur, cold, so very cold. A gust of wind surprised her, and it picked her up off her feet for a second. Squealing, she tried to fight the wind, until gravity took over again and she was dropped to the ground. Shaking her head, she looked around. Wow, that wasnt embaressing at all!
