Stonepaw slunk into the clearing, and sighed. She knew for a fact that she was not supposed to be there, like it or not. She usually became excited at Gatherings, but not this one. Most definately not this one! She rushed over to her friends, slowing to a halt beside Lostpaw.
"Lostpaw, I'm pretty sure we're not supposed to be here tnight. We were out when Wavestar assigned people to come. I don't mean to be a downer or anything, but it's the truth!" The calico she-cat whispered and sat down beside her friend. Stonepaw looked at a silvery apprentice sitting directly in front of her. She was staring at her. "Are you two, like, in love?" The silvery she-cat gestured to Stonepaw and Lostpaw.
Blink. Twitch.
"No! I mean, Lostpaw is a good friend, but I don't LOVE him! Like a brother, that's all." Stonepaw mewed and scooted away from Stonepaw. Only slightly though.

Speedpaw had reached her destination. Normal cats stopped running when this happened. But just because she had arrived didn't mean Speedpaw wanted to stop!
The excitement of a gathering was just too much for the already hyperactive apprentice. She performed a quick lap of the clearing, then another, appearing only as a ginger blur. She might have gone on for a third and fourth if a group of apprentices hadn't caught her eye. Speedpaw was always up for making new friends!
The little she-cat darted into the crowd, showing no signs of slowing down until she was almost on top of the other apprentices, at which point she skidded to a stop. Moons of practice meant she didn't bowl anyone over, although she came pretty darn close. She glanced around, and realizing she didn't know any of these cats she decided an introduction was in order.
"Hi guys I'm Speedpaw nice to meet 'cha!"
She said this all in one breath, and though she managed to stop herself from running she never stopped moving; she shifted her weight from paw to paw, her tail twitching back and forth, her eyes darting all over, trying to take in the whole gathering at once.

Stonepaw's eyes widened in horror when she saw a ginger blur come crashing down not too far away from her front paws. "Hi, I'm Stonepaw. Sandclan." The thick-furred apprentice nodded and looked back at the silver-apprentice. Accusing her of being in love with Lostpaw? Huh. Brave cat, we've got here.
Spiritpaw smirked as the calico cat, (Stonepaw, was it?) scooted away from her friend. Soon a ginger cat was at her side. "I'm Spiritpaw, from Snowclan." She looked Speedpaw, who had nearly killed her. "Pineclan, right? You smell like pine needles." Silvery fur fluffed up against the cold, she turned to the group of warriors behind her. She decided to listen to their conversation. +~+~+~+~+~ Nightshade dipped his head to the new Snowclan warrior, Tigerstorm. Riverstone was with him. "Yes, I am Nightshade. I'm sure Riverstone has mentioned that I'm Jaggedclan's deputy." Of course he has, Riverstone seemed pretty angry any way. "You're Tigerstorm, right?" The ebony tom looked behind him, only to find the group of aprentices growing larger and larger with each passing moment.

-------------------->Blood will spill blood...
Soulstealer's eyes glinted for a moment, and Heavyheart tensed, wondering if the warrior would spring at him. But the deputy wasn't looking at him. Heavyheart followed his gaze and saw a small apprentice, with another apprentice at her side. He wondered if that was Soulstealer's own apprentice.
The black deputy nodded to Heavyheart, and padded past him. The stormy grey warrior watched him go.
Soulstealer padded right up behind Pebblepaw, and she didn't turn round and see him. He twitched his ears and leaned down. "I thought you were supposed to be on patrol," he growled in her ear.
Moonstar watched the cats milling around in the hollow absently. Her mind was wandering back to camp, where her kits would be, safe under the guard of the SnowClan cats who had been left behind. She was still worried that an attack from the sea cats might be co-ordinated so it happened when half the camp was away at the Gathering. But she knew the camp was still well-guarded. She fluffed up her neck fur to warm herself from the biting wind. Her fur was thick but quite short, so she wasn't that cold. But the wind still made the tree sway slightly.
Heavyheart watched the meeting between deputy and apprentice from a distance, and soon gathered that this was obviously not Soulstealer's own apprentice. He felt a shiver of sympathy for the apprentice in question, he knew what Soulstealer was like.
He looked up to the clear full moon. There were a few clouds on the horizon, but they came no where near the moon.
And the lake will run red...<------------------------- [/sub]

Shadows can't overtake me...
'And i'm Ravenpaw! JaggedClan.' Ravenpaw scooted up in a blur of black fur and blinked her soft blue eyes at the group. 'This is my first gathering, and-'
'I'm Cloudfrost. From SnowClan.' The fluffy white tom sat down with the group, curling his fluffy white tail over his paws, his bright blue orbs fixed on Ravenpaw, then Spiritpaw, Tigerstorm, then the other cats in the group.

Pebblepaw stiffened. She knew that voice, it was Soulstealer. She closed her eyes for a long while and turned her head, glancing back at Lostpaw and Stonepaw for a quick moment.
"We weren't doing anything! I got bored, and i scented a bunch of cats, you guys were going to the gathering without me!!!" she mewed, her eyes big, as if begging her clan's deputy to forgive her.
Lostpaw looked up at Soulstealer. "Me and Stonepaw were in camp the whole time." he lied. He gave himself a quick lick before glaring up at the apprentice, though he couldn't see what she looked like. "Which one is it?" he mewed aloud to Stonepaw. He used to like Stonepaw, but she just liked him as a brother. Now his heart was slightly crushed, but he wouldn't show it. His tail twitched as he could hear and scent even more cats.
Tigerstorm nodded, "Yes, he told me, and yes, I am Tigerstorm." He looked back at the apprentices. Looked like Pebblepaw was in a mess. He could stick up for her...yes, he would. He padded over to Soulstealer and Pebblepaw. "It wasn't her fault, how can you expect an apprentice to just sit there in the territory while a gathering is going on?" Pebblepaw nodded quickly and smiled at the two warriors. Riverstone just rolled his eyes, Tigerstorm was just trying to be a big show-off.

Ghoststorm blinked slowly to adjust to the change in conversation and when he opened his lamp-like yellow eyes they were firmly fixed on Nightshade. He was sizing up the new deputy, trying to evaluate his strengths and weaknesses. Would he be a good leader eventually or would he lead to a weakness in JaggedClan that SnowClan could use later on? The ebony tom looked quite strong physically but it was too early in the conversation to accurately judge his mental abilities. Still, Wildstar wasn't a mouse-brain - she wouldn't choose a deputy with no sense.
"Yes, I'm Ghoststorm." He meowed to both Nightshade and Veildedeyes, "A SnowClan warrior who hopes the prey is running well in JaggedClan." His voice held no threat and was as politely engaged as possible without appearing eager. It wasn't particularly warm but it was far from hostile despite what their Clan had done to Phoenixpaw. After all, cats did die in border disputes. It was sad, but it happened. Not to down-scale Phoenxpaw's death, of course, but Ghoststorm knew the sort of thing wasn't unheard-of. "Has anything of interest occurred in JaggedClan this past moon?" He inquired, gaze flickering between the two rock-scented cats. He expected that the deputy would know more but the she-cat seemed quite spacey. Perhaps she'd let something slip or give him and insight he hadn't thought of? Either way, the response should be interesting. He'd politely given them the option of not mentioning the sensitive border issue but the intensity of his sunny gaze showed that he would know if they passed over it.

Stonepaw nodded and turned Lostpaw at an angle so that he was facing Spiritpaw. "Directly in front of you. Her name is Spiritpaw, and she is a silver tabby." The calico apprentice whispered in her friends ear. Truthfully? She did have a little crush on Lostpaw. I mean, have you seen those eyes? And such a pretty coat, too!
Spiritpaw just laughed again when Stonepaw whispered to Lostpaw again. "There's no denying it." The silvery she-cat had turned around to hear what they were saying. But now she crawled a few mouse-lengths forward to get a better hearing at the warrior's conversation. +~+~+~+~+~ Nigthshade looked down as small figure slithered into the group. Spiritpaw of Snowclan. "Well, what do we have here? A little snoop, am I right?" The ebony tom pushed her gently, making her crash into Tigerstorms legs. She sat up, rubbing her nose with a paw.
Nightshade looked up when Ghoststorm spoke. "Yes, the prey is running very well. Actually, we've had alot happen. But, there is one I'm guessing Wildstar wouldn't want me to tell yet. So, we've had one litter of kits born unexpectedly. Actually, they were mine. They are so cute, but two of the four are very competitive, although the other two are quiet and calm. And we also have a new Medicine Cat Apprentice. Uhm, she was a warrior apprentice, Veiledeyes's actually," The tom cast a glance at the wide-eyes she-cat.
"But she felt that her future lay with the path of a Medicine Cat. She even delivered a litter of kits, for Starclan's sake!" Nightshade threw his paws in the air, as if creating a visual aid to Starclan.

Lostpaw groaned and stalked over to Spiritpaw.
"I DON'T LIKE STONEPAW!!!" he shouted and glared at her, his icy blue gaze burning into her fur. He wanted to pin her down and giver her a few scratches, but he wasn't that mean. He shook his fur and sat back, leaning against Nightshade, but thinking it was Stonepaw. "Sorry I hit you Stonepaw." he mewed slowly and moved a bit away.
Pebblepaw's mouth gaped open as Lostpaw shouted and she bounded to his side. "Calm down, shesh." she whispered and padded over to Nightshade. "I'm sorry, my brother is blind." she mewed nudging him away from the JaggedClan deputy.

ïöð
Cats seemed to perpetually creep up silently. Like now, when the group had gone from three to a million and two. Or ten. Anyway. It was just too many. Eyes closed tight, significantly altering her face, she shook her head in frustration. Apprentices were yowling about one issue or another, warriors were grumping about minor to major issues, and it just went on and on and on. And there was no exodus to rid her of it all. Now herself grumbling, she opened her wide eyes again, the cause being Nightshade dishing out some news. Better be awake here.
So she tightened her shoulders in both poster improvement and a stretch. As her deputy went on about the kits, she gave a nod and a convincing smile. Through, the expression, instead of dampening, only grew to a proud, contented grin. She took over at this point, meow rising as Nightshade's paws did so.
"I knew it from the start, Fernpaw was much...happier inside the Medicine Den then out hunting chaffinches and mice." She paused here, pale green gaze going down to her dust-coated front paws. She quickly covered up the appendages with her tail, and looked up once more. "But, I have a new apprentice, Ravenpaw. You may or may not have seen her, but she's the pure black one that ran in here." After the mew, she waved the recently placed tail towards...well, nothing, because she realized with a start that her apprentice's location...But just for a second! Soon her tail found a direction, where Ravenpaw was sitting next to a warrior, whom she did not recognize. Covering her paws once more, she finished with a simple nod, if stiff. This was all too proper for her.

Shadows can't overtake me...
Ravenpaw looked at Cloudfrost. He seemed a pretty calm cat.. especially for what had just happened with Phoniexpaw. Cloudfrost was in SnowClan! How could he stay calm like that? Hunching her shoulders, Ravenpaw sprung up into the air and crashed into Spiritpaw playfully. 'We can have a bit of fun, can't we?' She teased and sprung backwards, her tail playfully flicking.
Cloudfrost, seeing the talkative pure black apprentice skoot off to Spiritpaw, felt as if he was going to lose his temper at any heartbeat. Pathetic JaggedClan! They didn't know a thing about control. Stormcloud had nearly killed Phoniexpaw, and all of SnowClan was in wreck. How the fluffy white tom hated JaggedClan. His dark blue eyes blazed with a furious fire.

-------------------->Blood will spill blood...
Soulstealer transfered his piercing, blood red gaze to Tigerstorm. "This is no business of yours." he hissed, lashing his tail. He looked down on Pebblepaw. He would have to hold the sharp telling off until they got back, he couldn't do it with that wimp of a SnowClan warrior standing there. Instead, he growled, "Make sure you are where you should be next time."
He looked at Lostpaw, but did not reply. He turned, and stalked back to the base of the Knotted Tree, casting a terrifying glare at Tigerstorm as he passed the warrior. He twitched his ears and leaped effortlessly up to a root. Wavestar was directly above him. He lay down on the flat surface of the root, and licked a paw delicately, all the while his dark eyes glaring across the clearing, watching for any signs of PineClan cats.
Heavyheart looked blankly as Soulstealer as he padded past him. He thought the black deputy had been slightly mean to the apprentice, but he wouldn't say. Nah, just best to keep quiet.. he thought to himself, sitting awkwardly on the ground. He glanced around, and was disappointed to not spot Silentwing in the crowd. He had made good friends during the last Gathering. He wondered if the other Clans had noticed Raidance's absence. He felt very awkward and self-conscious, as he knew he shouldn't be sitting near Soulstealer of any other deputy. He wasn't a deputy. Raindance was. But he still felt guilty that cats might think that Raindance died, and he had been made deputy.
And the lake will run red...<------------------------- [/sub]

I said I wasn't gonna loose my head Pebblepaw just nodded and turned her attention back to Lostpaw and Stonepaw. "I'm gonna be in deep trouble." she whispered in their ears and sighed. She looked around and groaned. She padded over to Spiritpaw.
"Alright, can you leave my brother and friend alone? They don't like each other, we just help my brother, he's blind, so don't make fun of him!"
She puffed her fur up slightly and stared at Spiritpaw. "We could always be friends though." she mewed slowly.
Tigerstorm looked back at Pebblepaw and glanced back over at Soulstealer. With a name like that, he's sure to have a worse attitude than Tigerstorm. He sighed and glanced over at Riverstone whom was sprawled across the ground, looking like he was asleep.
Lostpaw padded over to Pebblepaw slowly, making sure he took the right steps. "Just leave her alone! She doesn't have to know!" he growled slightly and buried his head in his paws. He wished he didn't have to be blind! And than POP goes my heart

Ghoststorm listened aptly but silently to the torrent of information pouring from the JaggedClan cats' mouths. He hadn't expected it to be quite so easy to get them to reveal everything but then again, having new kits would be a thing to boast about. Having a new medicine cat apprentice wasn't so bad either. For a moment he felt sorry for the wide-eyed she-cat beside him who had lost her apprentice because he knew that if he ever lost an apprentice - even if it wasn't to StarClan - he would feel like he'd failed. However, Veildedeyes didn't seem to mind too much. She seemed quite an easy-going sort of cat.
"Well, it seems congratulations are in order. I am sure your kits will be good warriors, Nightshade, and I hope this Ravenpaw makes it to warriorhood, Veildedeyes." he meowed steadily, eyeballing the respective JaggedClan cats. He paused for a moment, silently deliberating on whether or not to add any SnowClan news but decided against it. there was no point in freely revealing everything to strange cats and they would hear anything of importance soon enough. Speaking of important things... "I look forward to hearing this...other news from Wildstar." He wasn't hostile but the silver tabby meant to make it clear that he knew they were holding something back. He guessed these two cats weren't idiots though, so probably wouldn't let anything slip.
Waving his tail with a sense of dismissal of that topic, the tom cast about for a new subject. "Who is - or was - your apprentice then, Nightshade?" Ghoststorm asked politely, tucking his striped tail under his paws. It was a fair topic. After all, warriors were always proud of their apprentices and Nightshade would have had to have at least one in order to become deputy.

♫- there's only music so that there's new ring tones... |
[ooc]late, late, late, 3 freaking pages late...[/ooc]
Seaturtle padded into the clearing, immediately unlatching her jaw to try and detect any signs of Skyfeather and Adderpaw--or possibly, whatever his warrior name would--or should--be by now. No such luck. In fact, the sandy she-cat wouldn't catch so much as a whiff of pine tree or sap in the whole clearing!
Giving a heavy sigh, she decided to amuse herself by making polite, casual conversation with the nearby cats, who all seemed to be babbling about apprentices or that plump vole they caught or some other trivial thing that they were proud of. It's always the same!
Approaching a group of rather distinguished--and stuffy--looking cats, Seaturtle nodded, taking in their appearances. There was a cat with wide-set eyes who looked rather uncomfortable, who smelled of JaggedClan. Beside her, a more proud-looking cat, who Seaturtle assumed was a character of high rank, chattered to a SnowClan cat who also looked somewhat stiff. She suddenly regretted her entrance into the circle--but too late now.
"Evenin'," she mewed, with a slight dip of the head, "Hope I'm not intruding."
She then caught a whiff of something she'd been searching for. PineClan.
Whipping around, she gazed, blue eyes wide, as a patrol of PineClan cats entered the clearing--and they weren't lead by Ebonystar. They instead, seemed to follow a lithe tabby she-cat with a menacing grey-blue gaze and lean muscles. She gave friendly enough gazes--but something about her still sent shivers down Seaturtle's spine.
She felt her stomach crash when she, after spending what seemed like seasons scoping out the patrol, made the realization that neither Adderpaw nor Skyfeather were there. And Skyfeather was the medicine cat.
Oh, StarClan, what's happened now?!
________________________________________________________
Dustwater slunk into the clearing, lean muscles rippling under her tabby pelt as she lead the cats of PineClan into the clearing. This suddenly made her feel very powerful. And, she knew she was. This one event had given her exactly what she needed. She was equipped with everything she must have to become leader. There was suddenly not a doubt in the twisted mind of the tabby she-cat that she would be made leader of PineClan.
She stopped at the foot of the tree, wondering what her peers and the other leaders would think as she made her way up the gnarled, twisted branches of the knotted tree to sit alongside each clan's best and bravest.
Finally, a new kind of excitement pricking at her fur, Dustwater allowed herself to leap upon the first branch, then the next, until she was sitting alongside the other leaders in the knotted tree.
"Good evening," she mewed, dipping her head slowly, "sorry we were late...there have been some--er--problems facing PineClan...which will all be revealed in good time. Speaking of which, shall we begin?"
Leader of leaders! These cats haven't taken so much as a step of action! | ...oh i won't go, oh, no, no -♫
