I'm such a chatterbox.
Ravenpaw, who had calmed down, adknowledged her leader with a nod. There was no need for a fight, though she had only become an apprentice a couple of days before the battle. She yowled agreement, and when she saw Cloudfrost give her a look, she shut her mouth and stayed quiet.
Cloudfrost swept his tail over the dusty ground. Looking for a fight? How dare she? He couldn't help but to bristle, and when the JaggedClan apprentice yowled with agreement, he nearly snarled at her. He was furious with Wildstar. Most of the SnowClan cats didn't want a fight. They followed orders. His blue eyes glinting in the dim light, Cloudfrost stayed quiet.
'Never run out of things to say!!

Ghoststorm's ears perked up jubilantly as Moonstar delivered the cutting accusation. It was about time somebody mentioned Phoenixpaw. She was the deputy's apprentice, after all and her death couldn't just be swept under the rug. Ghoststorm did think of her as dead now because he doubted even Mythdream's talent couldn't save her now. Still, when Vieldedeyes cried out from beside him, his head whipped around, yellow eyes glaring.
"Why can't you just be happy that this apprentice lived? A bad border scuffle is nothing compared to a life!"
"Because she probably won't live. And it's you Clan's fault. The warrior code dictates that a warrior doesn't kill unless they have to. Are you saying Stormcloud had to murder a helpless apprentice when she was running away?"
The silver tabby tom glared at the wide-eyed she-cat beside him, only looking away when Wildstar gave her (much more competent) defense. Moonstar pressed her point, not backing down and Ghoststorm nodded. He also noted that there were few SnowClan cats calling out stupidly in denial of their warrior's deed. The slightly smug look returned to his face. They would win this dispute whether it stayed at words or went on to claws.

º Wildstar dipped her head in slight agreement with what Moonstar was saying. She was glad they had found a way to resolve this through words. At Moonstar's questions, Wildstar bristled. How was she to know?!
"Those queries would be better directed to the warriors in question, the ones who were there. I, of course, was not, and neither were you. I am merely defending my clan to the best of my ability, and as logic dictates. If you would like to ask one of the warriors why this happened, I'm sure they would give you a very civilized and competent response."
She eyed the only cat who had been at the battle and was here now, Riverstone, with severity. He had a chance to speak now, defend his clan's actions in an area where Wildstar could not, and she was giving him this opportunity. If he screwed this peace up, she'd never forgive him. This was certainly not the time to get hot-headed, and she unsheathed and sheathed her claws several times, a common expression of frustration or nervousness that served this time, a double (though not literal) meaning as her gaze locked with Riverstone's. Was it just her, or was an immense amount of tension hanging in the air?

Wavestar inwardly thrashed her tail in annoyance as she realized Dustwater, as she thought of her until she gave news of nine lives, had not replied to the prime question, hiow had she become leader? The SandClan leader felt a small pang of sympathy as Wildstar, usually so confident, stuttered away after the spell of Dustwater's words- and her silence. Although her tail flicked slightly as the shock began to recede, and she wondered why Wild star didn't just ignore Dustwater. Wavestar's brow furrowed at Wildstar and Moonstar's exchanges of words; a fight between JaggedClan and SnowClan? That was strange- SandClan and PineClan she could imagine... But not the two who had recently battled. Wavestar's scorching amber eyes turned to Riverstone as Wildstar looked at him. She agreed with one of the voices she had heard from below- "Why can't you just be happy that this apprentice lived? A bad border scuffle is nothing compared to a life!" That was true, she mused, though she also decided that Moponstar and Wildstar both had good points, so, neutrally, she stayed silent and watched.

After a few slow moments Riverstone noticed Wildstar was speaking to him. Looking at the two leaders he gave a nod and stood, flattening his fur.
"Heres what happened. JaggedClan was just checking our territory, I'm sure it was the same for SnowClan. Both clans met. We were talking about borders when one of your warriors, Garnetstorm, attacked me. Which started a fight. I had to defen myself, plus there were two other warriors and an apprentice. Heavyheart, I believe, sent Phoenixpaw to get help. We were already outnumbered! Stormcloud was going to talk to her and stop her when Thornfie was right behind him. Ready to attack. I was busy with Garnetstorm, Xriscalyx was busy with Heavyheart." He paused for a moment. "Stormcloud didn't mean to hurt Phoenixpaw, but your warriors had no control. We did not want a fight."
He sat back down and nodded his head. He had just explained everything, as quick but informative, as he could.

Walking in your dreams... When Wildstar started speaking, Nightshade thought he would feel very proud. But he only felt embaressed, considering Wildstar sounded very nervous, for some reason. Twitching his whiskers, the ebony tom looked around as Moonstar started speaking. Then Wildstar again, then Riverstone.
Riverstone had actually made a pretty good summary of what happened. Atleast, that's what Nightshade thought. And now, it was getting late. The Gathering was taking too long! +~+~+~+~ Stonepaw looked at Lostpaw. Why was he talking to Spiritpaw? "Hey, Pebblepaw? I thought Lostpaw hated Spiritpaw?" The calico apprentice wanted nothing to do with the battle between Snowclan and jaggedclan, so she decided she wanted to chat instead.
"I have something that I need to tell you. but you have to keep it a secret, especially from Lostpaw, ok?" She looked around to make sure Lostpaw wasn't behind her. "Well, I like Lostpaw way more than a friend. It's kinda hard to admit. but yeah." Aren't I evil?

º Wildstar fidgeted, glancing up at the moon. It was getting late--really late! They needed to get out of here! There was a potentially deadly fox on JaggedClan territory as they spoke! What if something had gone wrong? What if Xyriscalyx and Tarwhisker had gotten hurt? What if one of Silentsong's kits were missing? What if Pepperthorn had returned to territory?! What if cats had proclaimed their love to each-other, warriors had been wounded and then healed by the medicine cat, and a kit was suddenly tangled up in an intricate and sinister plot that she was not yet aware of with a notorious murderer?!
Don't be ridiculous, Wildstar! All that stuff couldn't happen in one gathering!
"I don't mean to be rude, but this gathering really needs to hurry up!" Wildstar stammered suddenly, "I believe SandClan still has a report to make, and it's getting very late. If you'd like, Moonstar, we may continue this discussion another time, perhaps in the neutral area between our clans?"
___________________________________________________
Dustwater was very bored. If she could, she'd take her clan outta here now. No other cats wanted to listen to the bickering of a big-headed leader and a kit-like leader! Twitching her tail in annoyance, Dustwater glanced up at the moon.
Despite her hate for the mangy JaggedClan leader, she couldn't help but side with her on this one.
"Yes, SandClan has a report to make, and with all the commotion back home there are things that still need dealing with," Dustwater put in, her voice turning a little grouchier near the end.

-------------------->Blood will spill blood...
Moonstar twitched her tail and narrowed her eyes as she listened to Riverstone's report. The JaggedClan warrior made it sound like the battle was wholly the cause of the SnowClan cats. But what she had heard from Heavyheart was slightly different. She was about to tell Heavyheart to speak, but then she looked at the moon and realised it was quite late. Thinking for a moment, she could feel the whole clearing tense up. "The matter is closed for now," she meowed tersely, but knowing that she would definitely bring this up another time. She didn't want a fight, but they needed to get this settled. "I will send a message when I want to meet again." She gave a final glare at Dustwater, and a polite nod to Wildstar, then gestured with her tail for Wavestar to speak. She knew she hadn't reported any of her Clan's news apart from the Phoenixpaw accident, but there really wasn't that much to report. Her kits would be made apprentices soon...Actually, very soon. Frowning slightly, an idea popped into her head.
Heavyheart drew in his breath as he waited for Moonstar to reply to the two leaders. Would she give in, or would she challenge them again? As much as he wanted the matter settled, he really wanted to get back to camp and curl himself up in his nest and drift off into sleep... He shook his head and pricked up his ears as Moonstar spoke. "I will send a message when I want to meet again." she meowed calmly from the tree, and Heavyheart nodded a tiny bit. That would be better than to sort it out now. He was proud of her of how she dealt with the matter. He looked absently at Wavestar, kneading his paws into the ground with anticipation of getting back to camp. He hadn't realised it, but his belly was churning with hunger. What he really needed was a fat, juicy mouse...
Soulstealer narrowed his eyes as the leaders spoke, but did not react in any other way. He didn't particularly care about the border incident, although he knew it involved all the Clans; he was much more interested in how Wavestar was going to deliver the report. Hopefully she would do a better job than Wildstar had done.

Wavestar dipped her head and stepped up on the firm branh of the knotted tree, for a moment, she surveyed that cats below her, then, amber eyes gleaming as the moon shed it's silver light on them, she began. "SandClan prey is running well enough," She announced, "And we have much hope that it will thrive in the approaching green-leaf." She smiled slightly despite herself. "Marblepaw has given birth to three healthy kits, Daykit, Brinekit and Driftingkit. "Along with that, we have had no news from Ocean Sea, but-" Her eyes were almost menacing, "SandClan is ready for them if they come, or for any cat who breaches our territory in the mind that we are vunerable." She sat, "That is all I have to report, and if no one else has anything to say...?" She paused, "I suppose it it time to return."

I've got a loverly bunch of coconuts...
Ravenpaw whisped her tail over the ground as she listened to Riverstone's report.
No control? She was about to yowl aloud, but knew if she did she would never be forgiven and never be aloud to a Gathering again. Scuffling her paws, she looked up at Veiledeyes, hoping she would see wisdom in her mentor's eyes.
See them standing in a row!!

Moonstar listened carefully to the report from Wavestar, but heard nothing particularly of interest. Except that an apprentice had given birth to kits, which made her raise her eyebrow slightly. She dipped her head to Wavestar as a farewell between equals, and leaped effortlessly down from the Knotted Tree, waving her tail to the SnowClan cats for them to gather into a patrol again. Her paws were itching to get back to camp to check on her kits, and Phoenixpaw. But there was also more of an unpleasant duty to perform first. She had to punish Garnetstorm.
Heavyheart trotted swiftly to Moonstar's side, alarmed slightly by the nervous look in her eyes. But he didn't question her, and followed her out of the clearing, giving a respectful nod to Soulstealer as he passed. The deputie's eyes glinted, but didn't say anything.

Þ-- Fall breathes his chilling breath... Veiledeyes was still busying herself with the attempt of shrinking to the size of a newborn kit. What she achieved, if one was judging her goal, was a mutant kit twice the size it should be with odd limbs poking out of odd places. Or, to put it bluntly, she failed. But the she-cat was impressed, in a sarcastic way, that she was already in a recoil sort of pose when Wildstar attempted to calm her Clan down. But then the warrior failed again with a SnowClan cat snarling over her, and one she had talked to amiably enough moon shifts before.
"Because she probably won't live. And it's you Clan's fault. The warrior code dictates blah blah blah kill blah blah Stormcloud had to murder blah blah running away?"
Veiledeyes was tuning in an out of the contemptible mew, through her wide, green eyes never wavered as she watched Ghoststorm. Remembering his smug expression as Moonstar lay down her complaint again JaggedClan, which he was now wearing once more as the argument raged between the two leaders. The ashen-furred cat had never felt distaste, now rising like bile in her throat, so strongly before.
Raising out of her "crumpled paper" position, with the smoothness of her kind behind her, the she-cat flashed her stained, but still remarkably white, teeth. The warrior was about to hiss back her own response when Riverstone was called on by Wildstar. Now trading in her aggressive expression for a slightly smug one her own, Veiledeyes jerked her head roughly towards the calico witness, who had already started his report.
"Listen." She hissed softly, as to not be overheard by the authorities sitting above on the limbs of the Knotted Tree. Looking away, she simultaneously letting her smug face melt into a more typical, emotionless sort. And found her pale green gaze latching onto Ravenpaw's startling blue one's. The mentor found her eyes widening at once, seeing the look of pure distraught in her apprentice's eyes.
Giving a short, corner-of-the-eye glance to Ghoststorm, she was on her paws and trotting over in moments. As Riverstone trailed off and the leaders made short agreements, Veiledeyes reached Ravenpaw's ebony side. Giving the she-apprentice a quick lick on the head, she lowered her slim head to help, even if the precise problem was not known.
"Don't worry- it appears a truce has been made. No matter what happens next, our pelts will be on us for a awhile yet." And with that simple mew, the she-cat sat up, watching the last minutes of the Gathering pass by.--reminding Earth of times to come...

Wavestar slipped from her perch onto another, slightly whippy branch. Before it could do much more than begin to slide down wards, she had bounded lightly off onto the ground. She twitched her ears to the SandClan cats and set off at a slow pace toward SandClan Territory. As she heard the first few pawsteps behind her, she quickened and was soon running effortlessly across the ground. So SnowClan and JaggedClan are feuding, she thought as she went, well, in a way. And Ebonystar has been killed in some unearthly way! It was strange, very much so, but her mind was so occupied with these thoughts that she could barely dwell on one before the other popped up. -- Mossfoot, Gladeshadow and Thornfire padded after Moonstar, then started into a run, Gladeshadow sleek and subtle as he raced silently, Mossfoot carefree and bounding, Thornfire fiercely shooting through the snow-ridden ground.

Soulstealer now understood why Heavyheart had taken Raindance's place; the mentor was probably back at camp looking after Phoenixpaw. Wasn't that a job for the medicine cat? If Topazpaw was injured, he wouldn't likely miss a Gathering for her, as much as he did like her.
He gave one sweeping glare onto the clearing, then padded menacingly after Wavestar, treading into a run as they exited the clearing. He absently wondered if anything had happened at camp.
Moonstar trotted out of the hollow, Heavyheart and the rest of the patrol close behind. Her heart raced as she felt the wind fluff up her fur. She needed to get back to her kits. She just knew something had happened! You don't know that, she thought to herself frantically, breaking into a sprint over SnowClan territory.
And the lake will run red...<------------------------- [/sub]

Pebblepaw nodded, but didn't dare speak a word. She wasn't listening to anything that the leader's were discussing. She turned and looked up, "Time to go!" she mewed and bounced over to Lostpaw. Lostpaw nodded and followed her, looking back only once as they padded put of the hollow and onto SandClan territory.
---
Tigerstorm turned to Spiritpaw and pushed her. 'Let's go." he mewed and flicked his tail on her head. Blinking he turned and gave a wave of his tail toward Riverstone as he headed out of the den.
---
Riverstone sighed and stood up straight. Giving a nod to the leaving cats he turned to look up at Wildstar. Sighing his eyes trailed down the tree trunk and rested on Nightshade. That little bugger is deputy! I would think Xriscalyx or even I would get that position! Plus Silentsong has his kits! His mind rung with thoughts and he turned to face the open air of JaggedClan territory.
