Stonerib was feeling accomplished he had gotten all the information out without a problem. So, he was a mix between confused and somewhat annoyed when Sylphie started to giggle again. Wha? She was now talking about faces, but only one sentence truly stuck in his head.
"Your ribs are made of stone!?"
"What?!" he cried, eyes lighting up, still half-confused, but now half-angry. Was she trying to insult his name? Him?
But now that Kittypet was rambling about how his "ribs of stone" went against the...laws of physics? As the she-cat tossed her paws in the air and started to pace (later on), Stonerib sat there confused. Laws of Physics? Was there a cat in StarClan named Physics, and he made up laws? What?!
"Am I making any sense?"
The warrior stared at her in disbelief, puzzlement, and slight annoyance. "No, no your not." He mewed bluntly, shaking his head in a 'no' for emphasis.
But, soon he was left nodding as Sylphie tried to get the story right. Yes, he lived in SnowClan and on the Mountain. One nod. He stopped head movements suddenly as the 'pretty' (he wasn't noticing it as much now, how convenient) said how "strange" his life was. He was about to meow something when he noticed the she-cat's fur getting wet. She was crying?! Stonerib recoiled for an instant, before padding over to the Kittypet.
"Heh...heh, listen Sylphie. It's okay, really. My name doesn't make much sense, but let me explain it. See, my fur's the color of stone, brown and grey and such. Right? And see these markings on my sides?" The tom turned around, so the white markings on his side showed. "They kind of look like rib bones, see? And.."

Sylphie flattened her ears in embarressment. "Stonerib, I'm sorry. I really didn't mean to insult you, or your clan, for that matter! I just didn't understand, you know?" Her expression quickly changed from playful to apolegetic. "Can you forgive me?"
Sylphie stood and fluffed her long fur out against the cold. She jumped down to the ground and looked back up at Stonerib. "Here, have a sparrow!" The playful look reappeared in her eyes as she threw the bird up at him. "My way of saying sorry!" The she-cat sat down and blinked up at the tom.
"Come on down here, there's plenty of prey to go around. You can take some back to your clan!" Sylphie purred and opened her mouth slightly. The scent of another mouse hit her quickly. She dropped into a hunting crouch when she spotted it sitting only a few tail lengths away.
Sylphie crawled forward and pounced, her claws unsheathed. She killed the mouse in one quick bite, already getting used to the thought of killing the cute little animals. "I only just learned how to hunt when you came along!"

Stonerib was caught on why SnowClan was called just that, since he had started rambling after the name explanation, was cut short by Sylphie's apology.
"Stonerib, I'm sorry. I really didn't mean to insult you, or your clan, for that matter! I just didn't understand, you know?"
The apologetic look on the kittypet's face wasn't needed for the warrior to take her word seriously. As the she-cat continued her statement, he gave a nod, and a small smile to show he understood. Sylphie then jumped down from her perch on the fence, white-n'-tabbied fur fluffed up as a wind started to blow. Stonerib couldn't help but repeat the action for himself, increasing his already large size by almost twice as much.
Next moment, as he was preparing to head down into the Twoleg yard himself, the stone-furred warrior was hit in the face by a sparrow. Mouth filled with feathers, he teetered off balance, not able to yowl, and fell into the Twoleg yard with a resounding 'thud'. Spending a few good moments staring up with blank amber eyes at the cloudy sky, he finally shoved himself to his paws with an "Oof."
Sylphie was hunting something when he got up, so Stonerib wasn't going to yell at her. Plus, he didn't feel like it. Sniffing the flung, dead bird, he felt his mouth water. He hadn't eaten a bird for a...very long time. Purring, he plucked dozens of feathers out in one bike, and, using a paw to clear them out of his mouth, he started to chew on the sparrow, a low purr still in his throat.

Sylphie looked over at Stonerib, who was plucking feathers from the sparrow and purring. She took a close look at him. For a cat, he was handsome(in her eyes). She carried her mouse over to him and settled down beside him. She made sure she wasn't too slose as to mkae him feel uncomfortable.
"So, what is life like in a clan? How do things work?" ~~+~~+~~+~~+~~+~~+~~+~~+~~+ Kifi sat in the bushes, just staring at the fence. "How long could they be taking?!" He hissed and stood. He sighed. He hated barging in on some people's personal lives, but sometimes he had to.
Kifi bounded across the fence posts until he saw the familar tabby-striped back of his sister. She had a mouse between her paws, and she was eating it! What disturbed him the most was the chocolate brown tom sittin right next to her.
"Sylphie?" His sister looked up from her mouse and gasped. "Kifi? What are you doing here?" --OoC: Oooh, cliffhanger!--

Stonerib, who was about half-way through his "donated" meal, glanced up as Sylphie came to eat next him. As soon as the white-n'-tabby kittypet was in his line of sight, he immediately stopped the tearing he had been putting the sparrow through. In Clan life, being..."excited" about a rare meal was regular. For this she-cat, he'd look like a savage. So, he respectfully slowed down his bite, rip, and chew speed down. Slightly.
The she-cat (who now, after his momentary temper was gone, was once again rather pretty) had caught a mouse somewhere between when she had knocked him off the fence and he had started eating.
"So, what is life like in a clan? How do things work?"
He was surprised by the question, but answers and explanations rose to his head immediately. His muzzle was open and moving in seconds.
"Well, it's amazing! The fact you simultaneously depend on yourself and your entire Clan, and knowing they need you, is a great feeling. But the freedom is greater. Especially on the mountain..." Here Stonerib paused to look in the direction of his home, and was happy to see, even with the fence blocking some of the view, he could still spot the pinnacle of the mountain.
Incidentally, Kifi arrived at that time (through Stonerib didn't know his name, of course).
"Sylphie?" That was the new Kittypet, who looked like Sylphie's twin. "Kifi? What are you doing here?" And that was Sylphie, her expression matching this 'Kifi's': Shocked.
Narrowing his eyes, the Maine Coon clanner gave Kifi a cursory examination. He was larger, and probably stronger, then Sylphie, or even Misty (where had she gone, anyway?). Still, he was larger still, stronger too. Still, Stonerib pushed himself into a sitting position, and faced towards the new cat.
"I can presume you're Kifi?" he asked simply, blinking once. His body language said 'no harm', but did a kittypet recognize it? Then again, there was no reason to think Kifi was aggressive...

Cookie Cookie sat inside her two-leg nest, her nose was nestled gently between he front-paws, her gaze holding steady at the rainy weather. With a bedraggled sigh, she picked herself up off the soft couch, wandering over towards the exit into her garden. The lithe she-cat stumbled clumsily towards her dish of food filth, scowling slightly as she managed to hork it down, without horking it back up again. Delicately, she slunk away, out through a small door in the two-leg window, glancing around the garden, before she bounded over to her favorite flowerbed, allowing the rain to soak through her fluffy coat. Suddenly, her gaze fixed on a small figure in the corner of her garden, doing god knows what. She stepped towards the figure, a dominant air about her as she held her head up high. "Who's there?" Scar Scar sat, snuggled comfortably under an overhang of a fence in one of the local two-leg gardens, his chest rising gentley, as he peacefully surveyed his surroundings, taken in the beatiful sight with such delight, you would not have expected from such a ragged and beat up tom. "Who's there?" Scar was startled as a soft voice disturbed his trance, his harsh gaze softned slightly and fixed itself upon the lithe she-cat near a bed of flowers. "It's only Scar, Cookie." He said softly, trotting over to her, a friendly glint in his eyes. As he reached the she-cat, he gentely scraped his nose against her side. "How're you getting on without... him?" He asked, knowing it'd be a bad idea to directly name the subject of their conversation. His flint-like eyes piearced into her own gaze, awaiting an answer. Jange Jange leapt up onto a nearby fence, his pelt soaked to the core from the falling rain." Hailey! Are you outside?" He called warily, his gaze scanning the garden in which his sister had been penned into not long after he'd fled from the two-legs, leaving his sister behind." Hailey, I'm sorry I left without you, please come talk to me!" Suddenly, he leapt down from the fence post, his muscles bunching as he landed nimbly, padding silently over to the two-leg door, optics peering wonderously into the two-leg den." Hailey?"

Hailey's ears perked up as she heard a meow; it sounded a lot like...
No, it couldn't be...she was just imagining things...wasn't she? She padded in the noise's direction, telling herself she was crazy all the while-- until she spotted him, that is.
"Jange?"
Her eyes widened as she spotted her brother, suprised it was really him. She frowned slightly as she noticed his soaked pelt; he must be freezing!
She padded over to him slowly, wondering what his life must be like now. For a moment she couldn't decide what she wanted to say to him.
"How...how have you been?"

Jange purred with happiness as he pressed his head into her side, his pelt still stuck to his body. The loner quickly shuffled himself into the house, invited or not, he had to get out of the rain! His flank brushed against hers as he purred once again. "How've I been?! Being out there alone is great! Better than being a two-leg slave cat! But it does get lonely sometimes... How've you'r two-legs been treating you?" He asked, his tone turned into a slightly defensive one as he finished his last sentence, his eyes gazing towards her, blazing with... was that hatred? Certainly not hatred for her...
~~~~~~
Scar gazed over at the house beside Cookie's garden, his eyes emblazoned with curiosity as he caught a loner stepping inside a kitty-pet's house. What is he doin'... Scar thought, trotting over the fence, leaping up onto it before calling back, "I'll see you later Cookie!"
"Okay, but please be careful, Scar." He heard her reply before he jumped into the garden, trotting over to the two-leg window-door. His baby blue pools gazed into the two-leg den, a sly smirk running over his maw as he realized his findings. "Well, well Jange, have ye found yerself a girlfriend?"
Hailey relaxed a bit as Jange pressed up against her. It was almost like old times again. She was glad he'd found a happier life out there; to tell the truth, she hadn't been sure he'd even survive in the frigid wilderness, and she was quite relieved that he was safe. But her fur bristled at his next remark.
"Better than being a two-leg slave cat!"
/Is that what I am to you now?/ She thought, backing away from him slightly, hurt in her eyes. /Just another pathetic slave cat?/
"My two-legs have been treating me just fine," she said quietly. "They know they can't boss me around. I've got some freedom these days," she added pointedly, trying to stress that she certainly /was not/ a slave.
She jumped slightly at Scar's meow; she hadn't realized he was there until he spoke. Her whiskers twitched with amusement at his confident smirk; he obviously hadn't considered the possibility that there might be a different relationship between the two of them. "Would you like to set him straight Jange, or shall I?"
Jange tensed as he heard the voice of Scar from behind him. His fur bristled as he turned to face him, emerald pools narrowing with fury. Suddenly, he gulped down fear as his sister offered to confront the massive brute of a cat. "No, Hailey, just go inside." He snarled, stepping forward to confront Scar where he stood, his eyes blazing with fury and anger. Suddenly, Jange stepped toward Scar, blinking a curt greeting. "She's my sister, Scar. I've not seen her in a long while." His voice was shaky, a slight fear crept up his spine, giving him a tingling sensation. He bowed his head slightly. "Would you like to meet her?" He asked, trying his best not to lash out and claw Scar's ears off.
~~~~~~
Scar smirked grimly, holding his head high, showing his dominance over Jange with a boat-load of pride. Scar's smirk turned into a smile, as he nodded. Suddenly, he leapt at Jange, clawing him across his flank, before leaping into the two-leg den and sealing it shut behind him. "Now, where did she go..." He thought, merely looking for a small chit-chat and some dirt on Jange, who was really his only competition for true dominance in the world of a loner. "Hailey?" He called, using the name he'd heard Jange call her. He grimaced slightly at the sound of Jange's furious yowls of protest and futile attempts to enter the small den.

Just around the corner, Hailey thought for a moment. She'd only listened to Jange when he told her to leave because she could tell he was frigthened of this new tom. Now, she didn't know what to do. She heard Jange yowling and wonderd if he might need her help. She was hardly a fighter, but running away just didn't seem like the right thing to do. And Scar would certainly find her sooner or later.
Taking a deep breath, she padded into Scar's view, trying to appear calm and friendly, forcing her fur to lie flat. She had no idea what the cat in front of her might be like, but she was hoping there'd be no need to start an argument at all. She'd been gone before Scar clawed at her brother, and so perhaps she didn't realize what a threat he was.
Peering over the huge tom's shoulder, she noticed the closed door; she could hear Jange trying to get in on the other side. Realizing that she was alone with this cat who had made her brother so angry and nervous, she finally spoke, trying to keep the quiver of fear out of her voice.
"Hello," she meowed in what she hoped was a friendly tone of voice. "I don't believe we've met before. Who are you? And must Jange really be locked out? It's quite cold out there, especially with the rain." Her tail was lowered, her head slightly bowed, her eyes fixed on the floor; everything about her stance and her speech said /I don't want any trouble/.

Scar stepped into the two-leg den warily, he had no clue what these places were like, even though he'd lived in one not too long ago. His eyes lit up as he saw the female strut into view, her head high and appearing to be calm. As she mentioned Jange being locked outside, Scar spat violently, "Too cold?! You really have sympathy for a cat who's killed more kits than a dog has?" He snarled, though his facials suddenly turned to a gentle state, his piercing eyes shifting as they 'checked' the she-cat out. "But no, I don't believe we've met. I am Scar, you are?" He asked, though he knew full well what the she-cats name was, he wanted to make it more... final. "You shouldn't hang around Jange anymore... He'll get you killed." He mewed towards Hailey, his eyes bright with fake worry. He took a cautious step closer to the young kitty-pet before he added, "It's for you're own safety."

/What does he think he's playing at? Jange wouldn't kill anyone!/
She watched Scar cautiously as he introduced himself, trying to figure out what he wanted. What could he possibly have against her brother?
"I'm Hailey. But I'm sure the cat you're talking about isn't Jange. He'd never hurt a kit, much less kill one. You must be mistaken." Though she tried not to, she couldn't help glancing nervously at the door a few times, wishing Jange could somehow get inside. "And why on earth would Jange want to kill his own sister?"
/For my own safety?/ she thought incredulously. /As if I'm safe with this crazy cat!/ She stood her ground as the tom moved closer to her, but if he got too close she was afraid he'd hear her rapid breathing and her pounding heart.

What?! She doesn't think he'd kill kits? Is she insane?! Thought Scar wildly, trying to put Hailey's stupid remark out of his head, and focus upon her right now. Emerald pools locked onto her eyes, man, were they beautiful. Scar managed to pry his gaze away from her eyes for a second, as to reply. "Wha-- He killed my friend's litter of kits. Cookie, she lives right next to you're two-leg den." He said, a rather urgent tone in his voice, as if he were actually trying to save her from impending doom. Scar too another step closer to Hailey, his pelt beginning to bristle, but in no way was he fuming hostility. His left mitt throbbed with pain, as he realized he'd just stepped on a piece of glass that must've shattered off of a two-leg object. Quickly, the loner shrieked in pain and surprise.

Hailey turned and gazed at the wall thoughtfully, as if she could see through it to the den next door. She knew there really was a she-cat next door. But Jange? A killer? It just didn't make sense.
Unless this was the real reason he'd left...
"No," Hailey said, shaking her head violently. "He wouldn't. And why should I believe you? You don't have any proof."
She was startled by his shriek as he stepped on the glass, but she quickly recovered. Realizing this might be her only chance, she took a risk, leaping for the two-leg door. Hopefully Scar wouldn't be quick enough to stop her, and she could make it outside to Jange...
