Salt nodded, "Yes, that's a skill they'll definitely need to know," here she paused, glancing at the cat beside her, "do you have a good handle on that one? I'm not really sure how to do it, no cat has ever pinned me down before, though, I think I have the general idea of what a cat would be inclined to do," she hoped that Island had deeper knowledge of this, since Salt herself did not have much. Feeling a prickle of embarrassment, she realized that, being a boat guard, she should know. Maybe she had learned it and forgot it because she had never needed to use it? Well, no matter now, she realized. All they needed was a cat who was able to teach these to-bes how to fight, and the fact that Island had brought it up seemed enough to Salt. "Why don't you teach them how to do it?" she added, taking a hesitant step back, and handing the floor to Island.
Wood was surprised at Dove's question. "I dunno..." he mewed slowly, glancing around, self-concious. Did he seem like a fake? An idiot, now that he couldn't explain why he had done what he did? Did that make him worse because he had been acting without thinking? Useless? Just lucky that he had chosen the supposedly right thing to do? Would his tribe-mates think less of him now that they knew this? He shifted uncomfortably, deciding not to say any more, for fear that his already soiled reputation as a fighter would be sunk even lower due to his inferior knowledge of attacks and mindless actions. He'd keep quiet for now...
Fish, growing bored fast with the small-talk that seemed to be erupting from the cats around him, turned to the only other cat in the vicinity not doing anything. Refusing to waste his time chatting, he gave an excited yowl as he practiced a pounce, landing squarely on her, and mock-raking at her face before leaping off, darting a few bass-lengths away in a defensive stance, ready to repel whatever attack she should send him.

[] Fish's sudden attack had Bubble thinking the sky was falling for a hearbeat before she realised what it was and let out an indignant and startled squeak. Flipping herself back onto her dainty white paws once he was off, she darted straight toward the ginger tom and ducked her head toward his front legs, trying to unbalance him so she could attack his side without having to worry about any flailing claws, sheathed or not.

Dark skulked outside, watching the night sky, as the stars sparkled like diamonds embedded in the universe. He shook his head. They felt infinite here, on the boat, the had felt safe, like the sea and the cats around him.

[[ooc;;Yup! Sorry for not specifying...]]
Fish yowled in surprise as he felt Bubble smashing into him. Flying backwards, he scrabbled for footing on the sand, but slipped, falling flat onto his belly. He lay there, dazed, the world spinning before his eyes. This was so much fun! Cats could never rough house like this one the boat--the boat-guards and fish-catchers would always tell them to stop, for fear that the boat would tip. Personally, Fish always thought this would be a fun and slightly amusing turn of events should it occur, though he knew the rage he would receive from his seniors, and the struggle some cats would go through. Deciding he'd rather not be responsible for a tribe-mate's death, he had never messed around too much on the boat, but this was great! They could run--really run. Not swim or walk. And running was a lot of fun, especially on a vast surface. He was so immersed in his thoughts, he hardly noticed that the world had stopped spinning, and that Bubble was charging at him once again, preparing for a pounce.

Taking advantage of the stunned state of her ginger Tribemate, Bubble reared up on her two tabby-furred back legs and brought a fair portion of her weight down on Fish's exposed stomach, pummeling it with her paws after. She was not using her full strength but hopefully, enough of it to perhaps win the fight this time. It had been a while since she had.

Fish was brought out of his dreamy state, giving a loud grunt as Bubble landed on his stomach. He struggled to sit up, but couldn't, making odd choking noises. His vision blurred and his eyes were crossed. He had pretty-much a vague impression of everything around him, including his own existence, and he struggled to take in air, though he couldn't find any. Was that him writhing on the ground? Couldn't be...could it? Well, Bubble...was a good...fighter....his thoughts were coming slow, half-conscious, and he though he felt a purr rumble in his chest. Why was he purring?! Oh right...the though he just had...about Bubble being good at fighting...he was purring in congratulations...

Bubble's paws faltered as she heard the odd chocking noises that Fish was emitting and she hastily removed herself from the tom a moment later. What was wrong with him? his eyes were crossed and he seemed to be having some kind of wierd fit. Anxiety suddenly overcame her desire to triumph and she brought her head down to her Tribemate's level. "Are you okay, Fish? Did I hurt you?" She meowed uncertainly, unable to imagine how she could have actually done any damage. Had she killed him? By the Tribe of Endless Swimming she hoped she hadn't! What on earth would she do if she'd murdered one of her denmates?!? She would be exiled! And Fish would be...dead.

At the release of his friend's paws from his soft belly, Fish gasped, feeling air enter his lungs once more. His eyes uncrossed and the choking sound stopped, as the back of his head hit the ground and the world spun before him once again, "Wow," he wheezed, something of a grin on his face, "You're...you're a good fighther, Bubble!" He lay still sprawled on the ground, staring in awe at the spinning sky. When he had caught his breath and the ground had stopped moving, he got up carefully. "I wouldn't want to meet you in battle!" was his friendly mew. Nothing could get Fish down, not even temporary suffocation by a tribemate. The way he saw it, you couldn't expect to roughouse and not get hurt. He then added jokingly, "You almost killed me there!" batting her ears playfully with a sheathed paw.

Bubble exhaled with relief as her friend lept back to his paws, making a mental note not to let herself get carried away again. "Thanks Fish. But you caught me by surprise there at first too!" She meowed back happily ducking out of the way of his friendly assault to her ears. Then, suddenly she froze, murky green eyes narrowed at something behind him as she dropped instictively into a crouch. "Salt! Island! Look!" She hissed, flicking her tail to the two boat-guards.
Swallow had just turned the corner when a foriegn scent assualted her nose. There were new cats here! Who weren't from the Clans. Where had they come from? She did her best to monitor new arrivals from other places so that she could remain on top of the no-lands. They looked to be undergoing some kind of training session with two warriors and four apprentices but she could smell more. Deciding that the best way to find out about these cats would be to introduce herself, she stepped into the clearing, making sure that her escape route was clear should they decide to attack. "Hello." She meowed, lying smoothly with the next statement. "I was just coming to share tongues with StarClan for my nine lives but it appears I am not alone. WHere are you from?"

Eyes narrowed, Fish purred. It was so much fun to play with Bubble! She had so much energy. Taking another swipe at her ears, she ducked out of the way, and seemed to spot something in the distance. The she-cat suddenly seemed alarmed as she mewed, "Salt, Island, look!" Fish followed her gaze but coud see nothing. Then, he noticed something moving. Sure enough, it was another cat, and she suddenly stepped out into clear view. She was regal. She held herself with an air of self-proclaimed greatness and strength. Her glossy tuxedo pelt shone under the dull light of the sky. However, the phrase uttered by her following this immaculate first impression made her out to be a nut case. "Hello," she mewed royally, "I was just coming to share tongues with StarClan for my nine lives but it appears I am not alone. Where are you from?" What in the name of the Tribe of Endless Swimming was she yowling about?! StarClan? Nine lives? Fish was utterly bewildered, and his expression showed it. "These land-cats are weird," he muttered to Bubble, not aware in the least of her diminishing air.
Salt turned from her discussion with Island, ears pricked at Bubble's exclamation. A tuxedo she-cat was emerging. She was...regal. Strong, and well-muscled, Salt noticed. She must be framiliar with the area, know the land well, and Salt had to repress a shiver at the air about this cat. It was cold...and of course, the tempurature was cold, but so was her demeanor. She held herself high. She was strong, and she created fear in Salt, who felt her belly turn at the sight of her. She uttered words that made no sense to her, but, Salt assumed, probably would to a land cat. Glancing at Island warily, Salt took a few steps toward the cat, though her whole essence was practically screaming for her to turn back. "We are the tribe of Ocean Sea," she mewed, feeling inferior, "And we came to these lands by boat. We've fought a land 'clan' trying to gain territory and we're under truce for the night," she stumbled over her words, and got the feeling that they were only half intelligible. Her fur prickled in anxiety and alarm. She hoped she didn't look too unkempt, but she was sure she had a fear scent wafting off of her. Why, though? She did not know this cat, she was kind enough in her words...then again, her whole being seemed...dark, vomit-enducingly terrifying, and Salt shuddered a bit, stopping it suddenly with an immense amount of effort and hoping with all her heart that the cat did not notice.

Bubble shrank back further as the she-cat spoke, tiny pink tongue flickering out to taste her strange scent. The she-cat seemed nice enough but there was something not quite right about her. Something Bubble couldn't place until she remembered an experience with a shark a while ago on their old home. It's fin had seemed like a dolphin's and so the cats had slipped into the water easily to play with it only to be met by sharp, lethal teeth. That was what the new cat's aura reminded her of.
Coward. Scorned Swallow mentally, fixing the obviously petrified sea-cat with a cold stare. "Is that so?" She asked rhetorically, musing silently at the oddities in front of her. Cats from the sea? Whatever next? Underground warriors? Or perhaps flying ones. Either way, the she-cat in front of her did not have the authority in her voice to be a leader so she would be of little use. How many of them were there? Swallow suddenly wondered, in a flash of intrest. Enough to reinforce her pitiful Clan numbers? If they had fought the Clans then they would have a reason to be allies...temporarily, of course. Until they exhausted their use. Then they would either be converted into loyal TalonClan members or disposed of. It just might give Swallow a better chance of ruling.
The tuxedo she-cat let the chilling silence stretch a little more, to keep the sea-cats' nerves taunt, before making her request. "You sound like an...interesting bunch of cats. I should like to speak to your leader." It wasn't actually a request at all. More of an order.

Salt felt a sinking feeling in her chest as the strange cat demanded to see Lightning. Though it was worded kindly enough, her tone, her icy gaze, made it more of a command than a question. Salt had a bad feeling about this, but could do nothing, rather, nodded her head, turning to Bubble, Fish, and Wood. "Go get Lightning," she mewed, "Tell him we have a visitor who wishes to speak to him," she then turned away from the to-bes, dismissing them with a flick of her tail. She hoped one of them would warn him about her demeanor, she could tell that Wood had sensed it. Glancing over to him her eyes widened in surprise; he was trembling from nose to tail as if it was a windy, ice cold night at sea and he had just finished swimming! He must be very in tune with his emotions she realized, tilting her head a bit at the cat. Remembering her visitor, she turned to face the she-cat again, a chill running through her bones. She wanted to ask why the cat was here, but at the same time, she did not particularly want to strike up a conversation with the strange cat.
Wood nodded, stumbling off at Salt's orders, glad to be dismissed from the scene. He was trembling, though he did not know why, and an eerie cold feeling had overtaken him. What was wrong with him today, he wondered, shaking his head vigorously in a vain attempt to rid himself of the violent spasms. He noticed then that his brother was looking at him with wide, concerned eyes. "What's wrong?" he asked, and Wood felt him lean over and lick his fur. "I dunno," Wood mumbled, the eerie feeling fading as they entered the cave, only to be replaced by the emotion of wonder and amazement that the cave brought. Like the sky of a starry night he thought.
Fish gave his brother another worried glance, though he did seem to calm down once he entered the cave, and Fish could see why. It was dank and warm here, and the moss was comforting beneath his paws. Spotting Lightning across the way, he padded quickly over to his healer, taking the lead. "Lightning," he mewed, dipping his head to the tom before continuing, "There is a cat outside who would like to speak to you," he wondered if he should mention the strange reactions the cats had underwent when she entered the vicinity but--no. Those were probably just the fears of an average boat-guard or fish-catcher. There's no way a leader would fear the same over a random she-cat.

Swallow's eyes seemed to bore twin holes right through Salt for another few heartbeats, her disdain for the incompetent cat almost tasteable in the air, before she blinked slowly. Then the she-cat sat down primly, tucking her tail under her paws and keeping her head high. She would wait, but it had better not be long.
Meanwhile, inside the cave, Lightning was listening to Fish's report with only half a mind. THe other half was submerged in the dream-world that he had just exited, trying to decide which the best path forward would be. Soon, however, his entire attention was captured. Another cat? Wanting to see him? Perhaps the land cats had finally come to their senses and realised it was best if they gave up. Somehow, he doubted this was the case. "Alright. Lead the way to our visitor," He commanded evenly, preparing to exit the cave.

Nodding vigorously, Fish pranced out of the cave, paws slipping on the slimy moss, tilting his head back every now and then to make sure his leader was still there. Once outside, the cold came as a sort of shock, and his lungs opened up to the crisp, fresh air; a big contrast to the dank, muggy feel of the cave he was just in. Smacking his jaws in distaste for the cave, he padded over to the dark tuxedo she-cat. Glancing at Salt, he slipped away, twitching his tail as an indication that he wanted Bubble and Wood to come along.
Salt could have collapsed in the relief of having Lightning at her side. Rather, she dipped her head to the healer, handing over the floor to him so to speak, before slipping away into the cave, longing to escape the eerie feeling coming from the black cat. It was easy in the cave, and her paws tingled in calm and safe serenity as she entered the dark area. Heaving a sigh, she sat down, and began raking her tongue through her fur, giving it a virorous cleaning as if the strange cat had a bad case of jumping ticks that Salt was scared of catching. The cleaning kept her distracted from the cold, dark feeling that she had sensed from the cat, and Salt relaxed slowly in the cave, letting the warm skink into her fur. And, as if the strange cat had sucked energy out of Salt, she found herself feeling very tired, and asleep in an instant.

"Greetings, land-cat. Why do you wish to speak with me?" Lightning asked, keeping his eyes fixed on the piercing yellow ones of his guest. There was an air of authority about her that was similar to his own, and it had taken him a while to build one up. He wondered more intensly who this cat was and who or what she led, as it was obvious she led something, or had done so at one point.
"You are the leader?" She meowed evenly, eyes narrowed in suspicion. This tom was slender and lithe - she was bigger than him! And broader in the shoulder. Still, when he spoke he didn't seem a weak leader, although he did seem more of a medicine cat type.
"I am Lightning, Healer of this Tribe, Ocean Sea." He confirmed, adding icily, "Who are you?"
Swallow stood up slowly once more, holding her head high and oozed, "Me? I am but the humble leader of TalonClan. They call me Swallow, and I'm here with a...proposition for you and your Tribe."
"Carry on...Swallow." He meowed, tail flicking up around his body. His eyes were narrowed wearily but Lightning did feel a prickle of curiosity. What could the clan-cat want? And just how many Clans were there? TalonClan was the second he had heard named but the forth he had smelled.
"I wish to speak away from prying apprentices." She meowed harshly, black, winding tail flicking in the direction of the huddled younger cats.
Bubble had followed Fish over to a more ecluded corner and had just finnished asking what he thought of the icky new land-cat when she heard Lightning call over, "Please leave us, to-bes. your training session will carry on later." Unwilling to miss out on such a meeting but unaware of any other options, Bubble slunk back towards the cave, trying to catch Fish's eye. There had to be a way to evesdrop.
